For this development in Old Montreal, we aimed to find the perfect compromise, keeping the unit’s furnishings luxurious and well-edited while not being afraid to showcase its potential. Layered lighting, pops of color, and a cleverly rotated hardwood floor brought the space a subtle dose of the unexpected.

To make it feel more residential and more suited to our client, a doctor with a serious penchant for pink, we glamourized the space with silk and wool upholstery fabrics, high-gloss lacquered cabinets, and cheeky Fornasetti rugs, plus a dramatic mosaic-tiled fireplace that serves as the home’s focal point.

To visually transform its interior without touching its architectural details, we painted nearly every inch of it, then spent the majority of the client’s investment on fabulous specs instead: Thonet chairs, Eames benches, Tom Dixon and Moooi light fixtures, Fornasetti plates, and Marcel Wanders tiles that peek out playfully from between the staircase steps.
