Leading our team is the son of a carpenter, who grew up working in the trades during summers and after high school, and later became a master carpenter himself. Ezra’s lifelong exposure to the building trades has helped him understand the building process and industry at a very intuitive and uncommon level. In his early 20’s a knee injury forced him to modify his career path and he redirected his attention to his education, finishing first in his class, with the highest honors and a 1st professional degree in Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin. 

Now, with over 20 years of experience in the profession, Ezra is an award winning designer, licensed general contractor in the state of California, master carpenter and builder of custom residences and remodels.

Our projects are highlighted by a strong green building ethic combined with a modern aesthetic and an unrelenting desire to create the highest quality structures and solutions for our clients. We have great familiarity with all facets of the building process and our promise to you is to provide nothing less than our full attention, and complete dedication to every detail of your project. > My husband and I had the life changing experience of having our home designed and built by Ezra Wheeler Design Build. I quickly became aware of Ezra's intense passion and keen insight into architectural design and its importance on aesthetics in daily life. I recall he began his process by analyzing sun angles and air currents and considering ways to maximize their benefits in the design of our home. Daily, I appreciate a beautiful sunrise over a seasonally changing wooded hillside, viewed through a wall of windows specifically designed for that purpose. Further enhancing the connection to nature we slide back the double glass corner doors, which erase the transition from inside to out, and walk out onto a spacious deck that is nestled in the branches of a large Live Oak tree.
>  We are also very proud of our home's energy efficiency. Ezra's forward thinking included a number of green features, which included using an earth banked first floor, geothermal for heating/cooling, rain water collection, solar energy panels and low flush toilets. The home also has an insulated reflective roof that buffers us from the heat of the relentless Texas sun. All of these features add up to lowering monthly utility bills dramatically.

> We had two problems to fix in our small condo, ligthing and more storage/organization space. In the first place, Ezra designed a great and functional solution for ligthing which made our place feel much larger, in addition to adding the light that it needed. In the second place, he designed and built a custom-made, floor to ceiling cabinet in our corridor, a beautiful piece of furniture that we use as a pantry and office storage, he even built in a convertible desk (a modern take on the secretary desk) as part of the cabinet piece.
