They are a passionate group of designers and are wonderful to work with. Their work is thoughtfully designed with creative use of materials and textures, which is always fun for me to capture. Looking forward to photographing more projects for them in the future. ## Selected projects - [Harbor Hideaway](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/harbor-hideaway-pj-vj~6538711) - Location: Sag Harbor, NY - Photos: 8 - Description: Located in the centuries-old whaling village of Sag Harbor, NY, the 2,630 square-foot Harbor Hideaway project is a single-family two-story residence. The property is situated in the center of a small peninsula and is one of the only lots in the neighborhood without direct water views. Although the instinct would be to design a new house to face the street, The Up Studio flipped the traditional orientation of the home to face the rear corner of the yard. - [Infinity House](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/infinity-house-pj-vj~6761057) - Location: Boca Raton, FL - Photos: 12 - Description: Infinity House is a ground-up 13,000 SF family retreat on the Intracoastal Waterway of Boca Raton. The impressive size of the home is broken into five separate zones, allowing us to create a sense of retreat for all of the occupants and visitors. Additionally, the front and rear of the house are treated differently to react to site conditions – the front is surrounded by landscaping to shield it from the street while the rear is open to the waterway, allowing the interior and exterior to merge.… - [Inside Out Pool Cabana](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/inside-out-pool-cabana-pj-vj~6761038) - Location: East Hampton, NY - Photos: 13 - Description: Inside Out Cabana is a modern outdooor living area by The Up Studio A densely wooded property surrounds this East Hampton modern pool cabana, providing the family and their guests with ample space to relax and entertain in the outdoors. The minimal structure was designed for a quick tilt-up construction and houses a bathroom, storage, outdoor bar and seating areas. - [Sight Sea](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/sight-sea-pj-vj~7032690) - Location: Amagansett, NY - Photos: 10 - [Twin Gables Modern Farmhouse](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/twin-gables-modern-farmhouse-pj-vj~7032660) - Location: Water Mill, NY - Photos: 8 - Description: Nestled among the orchards and wineries of Southampton, this new single-family residence in Water Mill, NY, combines deliberate modern design functionality with classic farmhouse forms that are familiar to the local vernacular. The home is designed to provide ample interior space without compromising on natural light, views or connection with nature. - [Open Corner](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/open-corner-pj-vj~5910052) - Location: Old Westbury, NY - Photos: 14 - Description: A bright, modern farmhouse located on the North Shore of Long Island was designed by THE UP STUDIO to address the stunning views on an odd-shaped lot while also addressing the home's relationship to the sun's natural path. Initial design studies led to an L-shaped corner concept in the rear of the home which allowed many of the primary spaces to look out on a lush landscape and soak in natural light. The resulting architecture utilizes a modern farmhouse aesthetic with simple materials and color… - [Sagaponack Spa](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/sagaponack-spa-pj-vj~7032722) - Location: Sagaponack, NY - Photos: 6 - [Free Float](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/free-float-pj-vj~2596317) - Location: Sands Point, NY - Photos: 11 - Description: Free Float is a pool house that continues UP's obsession with contextual contradiction. Located on a three acre estate in Sands Point NY, the modern pool house is juxtaposed against the existing traditional home. Using structural gymnastics, a column-free, simple shading area was created to protect occupants from the summer sun while still allowing the structure to feel light and open, maintaining views of the Long Island Sound and surrounding beaches. - [Build UP // West Beech](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/build-up-west-beech-pj-vj~2596103) - Location: Long Beach, NY - Photos: 10 - Description: "Build UP // West Beech" is a sustainable, single-family home in the West End of Long Beach, NY. It is the first self-initiated project by UP which aims to develop concept-driven architecture within Long Island's most vibrant, walkable downtowns. The home’s modern design features an open floor plan, ocean views, a roof deck, multiple balconies calibrated according to the sun’s angle, and a location in the West End neighborhood of Long Beach that provides close access to the beach and local busin… - [Commonview Residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/commonview-residence-pj-vj~5910097) - Location: Long Beach, NY - Photos: 3 - [Living Well](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/living-well-pj-vj~6761105) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 10 - Description: As a tribute to his heroic brother, the owner of this Long Island property set out to create a modern home as a peaceful place of healing for him and his family. The simple architectural forms and minimal interiors disappear in order to shift the focus beyond the walls and into the lush Japanese garden in the rear. The central core of the home captures natural light and brings plant life indoors.
