> We worked with Prima Construction this spring to renovate our kitchen and family room area. This included removing a wall and a few added change orders that all went smoothly. The team was easy to work with and took my ideas with their to make me a dream kitchen. They went above and beyond by creating a plan for adding a pot filler that was originally possible due to the location of the stove. They did not once comeback asking for more money, the research they did before starting gave us a clear understanding of how much it would cost and the only added costs came from changes orders we added. We lived in the house while they were working and they kept the house clean and the area safe for when we needed to walk through. I would highly recommend Prima, the martial's used were high quality and the results were beautiful!

> We made the best decision going with Prima. Our kitchen and mudroom are everything we imagined and more. Kim and her team really take pride in their work and the finished spaces they provide. They were a pleasure to work with at every phase of this process. Kim’s communication is unmatched- weekly progress e-mails, walkthroughs, and quick response time to answer our questions. They helped us create our dream space within our budget and the constraints of our current space. The team went above and beyond. The work was completed on time and on budget! We can’t praise them enough and recommend them to everyone!

> We had the most amazing experience with Kim and Prima Construction. We had been planning a kitchen remodel since we bought our home, and the wait was worth it. We remodeled our basement in 2020 and had a good experience with that company, but we were not happy with the Covid protocols (or lack thereof) of the other company or their long-term responsiveness.
>
> Prima was incredibly respectful of our home and fantastic about communication. The planning process was impeccable, and I felt like we were listened to and the design completely reflects what we wanted and what was most practical for our space.
>
> During the project Kim sent weekly updates about what was accomplished and what was planned for the next week. The project stayed on schedule in spite of a couple Covid brushes and a lot of snow!
>
> I also love supporting a woman-owned business, but if that's not your thing, pick Prima because of the quality of the work and the stellar communication and project management.
>
> We opened up a load-bearing wall and added the custom bench, and everything else basically stayed in the same place (except added a pantry) but was completely replaced and updated. We also had soffits removed. We couldn't love our new kitchen more!
>
> Here's a link to a video of the project. If it doesn't work, it is on Prima's Facebook page if you want to check it out.

**★★★★★ — Liz Mulholland, Sept. 2022**

> We hired Prima Construction to renovate the kitchen in our 1940s SW Minneapolis home. We wanted to improve the function and layout while staying within the existing footprint of the house. Prima took down the wall separating the small, dysfunctional kitchen and the equally small, dysfunctional dining room and we came up with a layout that made great use of the space. Kim and Scott were a pleasure to work with during the design phase and as they walked us through choosing cabinets, countertops, flooring, light fixtures, etc. We now have a kitchen that is a dream to work in, has plenty of storage for all of our dishes, cook/bakeware, miscellaneous kitchen things and our food, and still has room for our dining room table. We didn't have any of this before we renovated. We are so impressed with the quality of the work, both the finished renovation and the care and attention to prepping the home before beginning work. Our neighbors remarked on how friendly the crew was and noticed how hard they worked (and they also love the finished project!). Prima completed the work within the projected timeline and we stayed on budget. They went down to the studs and rebuilt an energetic, gorgeous kitchen that suits our family and our home. Prima exceeded expectations and I would highly recommend them!

> I am finding it difficult to express just how amazing our experience with Prima has been. When going into a remodel, one has an ideal expectation and then a more realistic level, but Prima exceeded even our ideal expectations at every step of the way. Kim (and Scott) have created a brilliant team of skilled professionals, who were, quite frankly, a joy. Kim’s weekly email updates (summary of previous week, upcoming work, and “homework” required on our part) kept us well-informed, but she was always available for any questions. Everyone involved really listened to us, and then executed the work beautifully. We really could not be happier with our experience and our new bathroom.

**★★★★★ — HU-810447219, Feb. 2022**

> Kim and her crew were great. They did a bathroom remodeling for us that they originally scheduled for 6-8 weeks long, barring anything unexpected. We have an old house, and they did find some unexpected plumbing problems behind the walls and floor. One of their work crew also tested positive for COVID right after starting his part of the project. Despite these unexpected things, and inspectors' erratic schedules, they stayed pretty much on schedule. Towards the end, two of our family members contracted COVID, and Kim worked super hard to finish so that we could have use of the bathroom during our quarantining efforts. It was a crazy process, but Kim and her crew were outstanding, and they finished only a week or so beyond the original 6-8 week schedule, despite all the obstacles. We can't recommend Prima Construction highly enough.

**★★★★★ — emed\_kenny, June 2021**

> Kim, Scott and their Prima crew did a fantastic job from beginning to end of our project, which was an unfinished basement conversion to a finished space plus additional bathroom (shower and toilet), and exterior window well expansion. This was our first ever home upgrade project so we were somewhat nervous going into it. Scott guided us through the design process with a steady hand, producing 360 degree views of the “To Be” space, and walking us through the materials options. We collectively used a Google Doc to discuss, record and finalize design choices, which worked well. Kim took over for the on-site demolition and construction - her crew was just amazing. High quality work, extremely reliable, respectful of the space and the fact that we were still living in the house as the work went on, and kept the space as clean and dust free as possible (given the nature of the work). At all key transition points in the project - framing, plumbing, boarding, electrics, finishes etc. - Kim scheduled a detailed walkthrough to fine tune final decisions; it was a highly effective process. She patiently answered all of our questions and was great at translating our ideas (especially ones we weren’t sure were possible….) into reality. The finished space is beyond what we ever expected. Kim and Scott gave us an estimate of 4 months for the project, and it was 4 months to the day. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I’d give Prima Construction a 6!

**★★★★★ — HU-715388775, April 2021**

> Prima’s staff was friendly, trustworthy & very clean. They were in my home & around my family for weeks & we never had an issue with any member of the team. Kim responded promptly to questions & requests & gave great advice when we were making all of the design decisions.

**★★★★★ — HU-787120881, March 2021**

> Prima transformed our 1927 “original” kitchen from antiquated to contemporary. Fresh and bright, it has the right look to still give a nod to the Roaring 20s. Now in its new layout, the space has been fully maximized, fully modernized and now is fully ours to enjoy for the days to come. Kim and her team made every effort to make the inconveniences of being without a kitchen as painless as possible. And an added bonus… the work was completed ahead of schedule.

**★★★★★ — User, Nov. 2020**

> Prima Construction took our main upstairs bathroom down to the studs and rebuilt it. While at it, they took the vintage 1955 knotty pine out of two bedrooms, replacing it with drywall, and installed cork flooring over the unsalvageable original floors in those rooms. Auxiliary work in the bedrooms included electrical, baseboard renovation, and painting. To anyone who might wonder why we would remove high quality knotty pine panelling, the answer is that it becomes oppressive, especially in a 1925 house where it never did belong. These two rooms look splendid now. In one of them, the knock-down revealed the once-exterior stucco and brick chimney, which we cleaned up, painted, and exposed to good effect.
>
> The bathroom was the main event and Prima's work was outstanding. We bought the house three years ago from the estate of a 98-year-old who had lacked the means to update anything in decades. The bathroom was DIY 1975, with the original tub obviously ridden hard for a century. Prima took out the tub and everything else in two days. The rebuild, designed by Prima, is very much to our liking, with workmanship first rate: Glass block window, walk-in shower, new cabinetry, pedestal sink, one-piece toilet, lovely tile on walls and floor, new baseboard heating, and great fixtures. All was highly professional. Kim the owner is a great designer and good communicator. There were no cost or schedule overruns. The crew was chipper, detail-oriented and friendly. Very pleased.

**★★★★★ — HU-147332572, Sept. 2020**

> Prima Construction did an awesome job with our complete kitchen remodel. Kim and her entire crew were very professional and paid great attention to detail! Kim was also very instrumental and helpful with ideas and selections. Communication was great and all aspects were done on time! We would hire Prima for our next remodel job and refer them to friends and relatives.

**★★★★★ — Jeanne Athey, July 2020**

> Had the best possible remodeling experience with Kim & Scott at Prima Construction. They are very well managed, we always knew what was going to be happening from tear-out to finishing. The same crew was at our home, which was nice, we knew who was coming in daily. They put up temporary walls to keep the dust to a minimum in the portions of the house that were not having work done. They did a wonderful job of getting our project done (a kitchen & bath remodel) during the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. They made sure we could utilize our kitchen appliances and bathroom during the time they (and all of us) were under stay at home orders. Once they were allowed, they came back in and finished the project. Very well organized, came in at budget, always willing to listen and offer advice. Kim made making choices for our remodel, very easy and had a great eye for what would work and what we would like! It was a great experience!

As an experienced Minneapolis condo remodeler, we managed this entire complex process. This included a full kitchen remode…
