The ceiling is 20', and has wood/open beam ceiling. The exterior of the home is all stone, the other fireplace in the family room is stone; the entry into the house has an iron and glass door and when you walk in you see the side of this very tall wall - not very attractive. It seems if I wrap the stone all the way up, it will be a beast in the room. I don't want it to be a fireplace you sit in front of, but rather one you just "walk" by. Any suggestions? I just can't seem to come up with an idea to bring beauty to this structure :( A: I like the idea of using a ceramic tile or low profile stacked stone, something with a clean look. **Q: I am so lost!!!!!** *(in Design Dilemma)* We have been using our basement couches from our last home in our living room since we moved into our new house. Paint mantel 2 shades darker than Revere Pewter in a satin/semigloss and find something botanical to be the star of the room. **Q: Photos of Work** *(in Remodeling)* There are some incredible pictures around (especially on Houzz) of kitchens, bathrooms, etc. My question, do you hire professional photographers to take these pictures? If you take them yourself, did you take any special training classes or photography courses? Sometimes we have homeowners "move back-in" to their space before we have gotten the chance to take photos, how do you address temporarily removing the homeowners personal items in order to get better photos? Any insight is greatly appreciated! A: I have a professional photographer take photos of my completed projects and I do some very minor staging prior to the shoot. **Q: Need advice for TV accent Wall with mantel/Fireplace** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi, We have a wall with a high Mantel and a electric fireplace. Putting our TV above the mantel is too high and unpractical. So we have just lowered the mantel and will be able to place our 55" TV above the mantel on the wall. Since we've done this work, I'd like to take the opportunity to make this area look better in the most economic way. I'm looking for all design ideas of how to make this wall look unique and special. (Currently the wall is a light yellowish paint colour and we plan on painting it to a white shade. But still open to other ideas for the wall in general). THANKS!! A: It really depends on how many drawers shelving you would need. My ballpark is anywhere from $800-$1500. Maybe try going to a big box store and look at filing systems for a lower cost option.
