> Two years ago, we signed a contract to build a new home with one of Mr. Howell's companies, EE Dev Co. We were excited like anyone would be, our dream to build a home was coming true. We were very mindful of our budget, and asked about the financial impact of each decision we made as the build job progressed. Later, we did an amendment where Mr. Howell switched the contracting company to another one of his entities, Entrepreneur Enterprises, LLC. At Mr. Howell's recommendation, we took out a construction loan to finance the construction and authorized him to use the money from our loan to build the house.

> We were on cloud 9, our little family of 4 then, now 5, were going to live in a home we designed for our needs, at our budget. Two years later, after truckloads of patience (some due to COVID), we reached our limit. After initially asking for an additional $45,000+ to account for lumber pricing increases, Mr. Howell informed us that the actual cost to finish the house would be not $45,000 additional dollars, but $184,000 additional dollars. He stopped doing work, and demanded we pay. This was on a contract that was originally for $375k. We were shocked, and asked to see proof of his claims. Eventually he provided some information, but it did not support his claims. Instead, it raised even more concerns.

> After digging into the details we found the following:
>
> 1\) While his original budget indicated he was selling the lot to us for $50,000, when he submitted the payment request to the bank, he asked for and received $60,000 for the lot. He took $10,000 more out for the property he said that he would and never said a thing.
> 2\) His budget contemplated less than $3,000 that would be charged to us for overhead expenses over the course of the project. After we received the bank documentation, we discovered that he had paid his company nearly $50,000 in project management fees when the budget didn't account for this. These draws depleted our construction loan before the house could be finished, hence the demand for more funds.
> 3\) While Mr. Howell indicated that his companies would take care of any easements required to construct the property, Mr. Howell paid our neighbors $5000 for an easement without ever discussing it with us. Instead of "taking care of it" as represented, he charged us for this. We didn't know about the charge until the demand for additional funds.
> 4\) During the project, mistakes were made by project managers and subcontractors. This required them to re-do some of their work. Instead of taking responsibility for the increased costs associated with these mistakes, Mr. Howell charged us for the work. We h
