Our master bath has a tight footprint and Bob and Craig were able to work with me to come up with a creative design that worked for our circa 1983 house and was up to code. His crew of Craig, Francisco, Mario, Logan and Ryan were personable, polite and they put in long hours and are extremely hard and diligent workers. They did an excellent job communicating when things would be done and what needed to happen next. They cleaned up each evening and left things put away and organized. Bob has high standards for his crew and we had to get some of the tile work re-worked but the standard answer when something is brought to their attention is "No problem, we'll take care of it". They gutted our bathroom, repaired drywall downstairs, installed LVP floor throughout most of upstairs and downstairs as well. We had to replace our family room ceiling, installed can lights as well as lots of painting and miscellaneous electrical work. We reconfigured our wet bar and switched out stair rail and balusters as well. We are very pleased with the job done and will call them again for our next project. We first spoke with Bob about our wants (and hopes) to add ~425 sf of additional living space to our home in East Cobb. We live in a 70s style split level that just wasn't quite meeting the needs of our family. We were able to add the square footage to create a customized kitchen, pantry and half bath on the main living floor, in addition to updating all the flooring on the main level, redoing the face of the fireplace, renovating the space that the old kitchen/dining room existed into a playroom/bonus space for the family, adding a small deck off the new kitchen, and updating/replacing the electrical panel and hot water heater. We worked directly with Bob to design the space and pick the finishes. We had the freedom to purchase items if we chose or provide a detailed list and have him take care of it. Bob's team was highly professional throughout the entire experience. The entire crew, lead by Craig, worked hard, communicated well, was courteous of our being present during the job, and even took timeout to show our 3 year old some of their "cool tools". We lived in the home through the entire project (February to June for the majority of work to be finished) and Bob went out of the way to ensure we were minimally impacted and had a functioning kitchen throughout 95% of the project (we literally were inconvenienced a week without a kitchen). We had contracted with a recognized & reputable Plumbing company to replace upstairs pipes, which were clogged and leaking. But when the plumbers cut into the walls to locate the pipes, they discovered our home was structurally compromised and the pipes were inaccessible. They wouldn't proceed with any work, said we needed to get a general contractor, - and left without even restoring any plumbing to upstairs or replacing any drywall! > > Bob from Homestar came to our house and confirmed the plumbers diagnosis, patiently explained the vulnerabilities, and priced several options for us. A few days later, they restored plumbing to the upstairs in a few hours, so we could use the house until they came back for the larger project. They returned a couple of weeks later, as promised, and proceeded with a project to reroute the plumbing, replace all old cast-iron pipes, and insert support beams to restore structural integrity.
