We hired Amanda half way through our home renovation project. She took the challenge of entering a project midway to completion in stride, and worked with the decisions that had been made and those that still could be made to bring to fruition our vision. Prior to Amanda visiting the renovation property, we met with her over the phone to explain our goals for the space and sent pictures to share our preferences. At the first onsite meeting, Amanda had already created a portfolio for us to review, with samples of tile, paint, counter tops, colours/stains, carpets, etc. The portfolio she compiled so accurately reflected our vision, we could not have been more impressed. Amanda is professional, kind, trustworthy and genuinely cares that her clients have the home they desire. She has the ability to understand the vision a client shares, while bringing her expertise to ensure the flow of the style and design works throughout the home. She adds details and pieces to the design that elevate the style and bring the home together. The project included our entire top floor (kitchen, two bathrooms, dining, family, tv areas and master bedroom) as well as our downstairs entryway and stairs. We saw the outstanding design Amanda created in our neighbour’s home and when we asked our contractor, Philip Rechsteiner, for some designers he would recommend, he right away suggested Amanda. > After our first meeting with Amanda, we were satisfied and knew there was no need to look any further. During our initial walk-through of our space, we shared with Amanda what wasn’t working for us and needed changing. The option we ended up choosing for our kitchen gave us more counter space, cabinetry/storage and function than we thought was possible AND it was a beautiful design. An added benefit is that Amanda uses 3D renderings to convey her ideas, which really helped us visualize our newly designed home. > At our third meeting, Amanda presented us with material choices that she had carefully selected and were within the style we were looking to achieve. She spent a great deal of time with us, and I especially appreciate how patient she was, as I find decisions difficult and can be so indecisive. We went away from the meeting feeling happy and relaxed.
