After firing my last two contractors; I have finally found one that does exactly what he says he will do. I currently working with Jim Pitcher of CRC Builders in Fairfield. My first experience with Jim was helping me produce a detailed estimate of my original house to justify the real costs of replacement. I know that some of you have used an outside adjustor. I almost did the same thing; at a cost of 30% of everything they get from your insurance company. Now there are no guarantees with most of these adjusters. Jim has been doing construction since 1994 and dealing with insurance companies for years. Jim knows the latest codes upgrades and was able to work with my insurance company to get me the needed funds to continue with my rebuild. Jim has been very helpful in coming to terms to sign a contract. He uses BuilderTrend to communicate everything that happens with your project; so if you cannot get to your property; you can see what is happening on a daily basis. This is a great value to the owner as pictures are taken on any new work that is being done; so actual work can be seen. I call it "One Stop Shopping" where you; the owner can add any concerns that you might have and can check what work is being done. Billing is also available; so it keeps track of all payments. There is a schedule calendar; so you can see what going to happen when. Castle Rock was brought in for a special finish to the deck surface. My original contractor was a lovely man but the work was slow and at times frustrating. When Castle Rock came to talk about surfaces, they did exactly what we agreed on in exactly the time frame agreed on. I subsequently used just them on another deck project which they completed on time, in the estimate agreed on and to my complete satisfaction. Then I used them on an indoor bedroom shower project.
