It is situated on an outside wall between the entry door and a window. We don't want the hood to take up visual space in the kitchen but how close can we install the hood to the ceiling? It has hardwood floors which we plan to refinish to have a nice contrast between floor, cabinets and countertops. Need help deciding which colors would look best for each of these (floor, cabinets and countertops). Currently it looks a bit dated and we want a more contemporary theme for our kitchen.
