> When we bought our home, we knew that the kitchen had an awkward layout but we weren't prepared for how cold it was, for 6 months of the year. We decided to partially combine it with our dining room, making it an eat-in kitchen, and extending the back of the house. This was a project that would require quite major construction, so it was a sizable endeavor.

> We had seen Mowery Marsh's work on their website and Houzz (it was prior to all those articles published in magazines like Dwell), and we were very impressed with their minimal design sensibility. We live in a Victorian home with beautiful details typical of the era. Combining modern designs with the 120-year-old home would be a challenge and when Brian presented the plans, we were blown away. We didn't make one change, and we are very picky. We now have a gorgeous kitchen and bathroom, an incredible space to work in, and thanks to their knowledge of construction of passive homes, they're now the warmest rooms in the house. We recommend them highly.

> We just finished our second renovation with Mowery Marsh and couldn't be happier. Our first project was a complete gut renovation of a brownstone and they handled everything: architect, construction coordinator and interior decorator all in one. They made the whole process so easy and the final results are fantastic - a perfect combination of a classic brownstone with modern amenities and decor. After that project, we had no hesitation to enlist them for a beach house renovation which once again come out better than we could have imagined. We highly recommend Mowery Marsh to everyone we know.

> I can't say enough good things about Mowery Marsh. Brian and Jen are incredibly knowledgeable and professional as both architects and designers and we were able to have fun throughout a major gut renovation. Additionally, their value overseeing the contractor cannot be understated - it was critical even though we had a great contractor. I'd recommend them to anyone.

> When we realized our home was too small for our growing family, we thought the only choice was to move. We loved the neighborhood and schools but the house was just too small. As we looked at options in the school district they were either similar to current house or too expensive. We contacted Mowery Marsh Architects to see if something could be done to make our existing house more livable for our family. They came up with a small additional and redesign that added a tremendous amount of space at an affordable price. It actually became the most cost effective option and it allowed us to include design options that we wanted and needed. Mowery Marsh added value that working with a contractor alone could not have done and allowed us to stay in our current home by making the space more useable.

> Our experience working with Jen on our Hoboken townhouse renovation was exceptional. She excels in all aspects of planning, design, bidding and construction management. We wholeheartedly recommend Jen for her consummate skill, professionalism, aesthetic vision, problem-solving acumen, unfailing good humor and, importantly, her deep caring and respect for her clients.

> They were awesome to work with. We were doing an addition on our home. We were very impressed with the ideas and plans that they came up with. I personally was thinking of going a different direction with the addition but they gave me a better layout with lots of beautiful windows and doors. They suggested a "wall of windows" that is spectacular. My original thoughts were to go straight out the back but in doing so our living room would not get any sunlight and they suggested shifting the addition to allow light to come in the living room. They were so right, this created a beautiful view looking from the living to the family room and vice versa because of the patio area that we see between. The view from the addition or the living room now allows you to see out and then in to the inside. As they say, "bringing the outdoors in". Since we were on a hill we were able to add a 3 story addition with a walkout basement. Again they suggested sets of French doors in 4 locations, bringing in more light and nature. My beautiful family room on the second floor and master bedroom additions on the third floor look out among the trees to view all 4 seasons, we love it!

> We recently completed a 2 floor renovation of our brownstone in Hoboken which included a large open plan living room and kitchen, a new family room, half bath, a complete overhaul of a studio rental and the redesign of a deck and back garden space. We interviewed architects from both Hoboken and NY but were confident that we wanted to use Jen Marsh from our first meeting. She listened intently to what we envisaged from day one and was then able to combine her architectural creativity with beautiful design suggestions to create a finished product that makes us happy to come home to every day. The project went smoothy from the budgeting through the punch list and Jen was an integral part of it all the way through. She has fantastic attention to detail and great advice on contractors, suppliers, stone, tile, floors etc. We felt in the very best of hands, would use her again and recommend her highly.

> Having Jennifer Marsh as our architect and project manager for the renovation of our brownstone was a huge asset. She was able to land every single interior design wish we had in mind and we were really blown away by the results. Her incredible aesthetics, attention to detail and sense for symmetry played a crucial role in every design decision. Jen’s professionalism and ability to come up with great solutions made the entire process run smoother and more enjoyable. We continue to recommend Jennifer Marsh to our friends in the process of looking for an architect for their next renovation project.

## Community Q&A

**Q: dring rack** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the large drying rack on the wall! Is it custome made or bought somewhere? If so, would like to know where to find it!

A: It was custom... we drew it up and the cabinet maker made it.

**Q: what’s the tile on the bathroom floor?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the color!

A: It was from Ann Sack... 1" Crystal Glass Penny Round in Matte Dew... but I don't think they make it any more?

**Q: Paint Color** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello - beautiful room. Would you happen to know the wall color?

A: Farrow & Ball Blackened

**Q: Vanity** *(in Photo Questions)*

Very nice vanity. Would you tell me type of wood and the manufacture if it is pre-made one?

A: Walnut, custom made

**Q: can you help with what door this is?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What type of door would I request from your brand, to obtain this look?

A: This small balcony wasn't going to be utilized much so we chose to go with a window that opens like a door so that the wood sash surround wouldn't be a wide as a standard glass door....more glass that way.

**Q: Love the glass doors to bathroom** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi,
Can you share where you got these doors? Thank you

A: Custom made by a steel fabricator in Brooklyn
