> We bought a home LG designed and nearly finished for someone else. We finished the house with LG, and have lived in it for almost three years. LG is terrific. They have been creative, committed to highest quality, customer-focused and fair. I would be delighted to build a high-end home with Brian Goldberg and his team again.

> LG Construction & Developement has provided us with the most professional quality construction for our multiple homes. Their knowledge of construction far exceeds the competition. We have enjoyed working with LG over the years and look forward to many more projects with them.

**★★★★★ — efoster2005, June 2013**

> We hired LG Development after bidding out our project to the best contractors in Chicagoland. They won the bid because they came in at a reasonable cost, were able to think quickly and communicate effectively, had great ideas supplementing the architect's, and were totally honorable. They stood 100% behind their commitment to the project's successful completion; and they have since helped us with problems unrelated to their work!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Stair rail** *(in Photo Questions)*

What company made this stair rail...beautiful

A: Hi Sheila,
We are so happy you like this staircase. It is made by Northshore Stair. Let us know if we can help with any other questions!

**Q: Need help with furniture/tv placement in living room** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Our fireplace is the focal point of a narrow living room that adjoins our dining room and kitchen. We are about to re-paint, add new decor/lighting and re-arrange furniture for a new look. We would like to place the tv to the left of the fireplace but I don't know what to do with the right side to balance the room. There are no built-ins of any sort or shelving. Is our only option to place the tv above the fireplace if we want it positioned on that wall? I love having a mantel to decorate, especially for holidays. Suggestions??

A: Mounting
your television above your fireplace is not a bad idea. This will free up floor
space and allow the television to be seen from any seating position. The room
appears to be a little dark. Try a lighter, fresher tone on the wall to have
the room appear larger and brighter. Arrange your couches to face each other alongside
the fireplace to create balance in the space. Two small side chairs may then be
placed on the opposite end of the room, facing the fireplace. Large lamps,
simple end tables, and soft, airy window treatments will give the room a
comfortable ambiance. Large, long, artwork flanking the fireplace would really
make a statement on the wall when you enter the room. White frames holding
creative artwork running along the wall opposite the window, behind the new couch,
would provide the finishing touch to balance out the space. Cannot wait to see
the final result.

**Q: Where did you get the cabinet pulls and do you have the item number?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: These gorgeous cabinet pulls are from Restoration Hardware.

**Q: Kitchen remodeling help needed** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Advice needed on cabinets, paint color, lighting, appliances and any other suggestions. Countertops will definitely change to Frost white granite. Can't change the footprint much. Suggestions???

A: The
windows in the nook are great and provide so much natural light! Depending on
your budget your cabinets are nice and could be painted, and new hardware could
be installed. Replacing the uppers with 43” cabinets would allow the room to
appear taller and updated. Your island could be slightly longer, painted a
different color than the rest of the cabinets, and a flattop stove should be
installed. Update all appliances, and install panels on the refrigerator doors
(matching the cabinets) to allow flow throughout the space. Remove all window
treatments to create a more open feel to the outdoors. Update lighting
throughout the space, and remove chair rail to create a more modern appeal. White
cabinets would open up the space and make it appear larger (would look gorgeous
with the frost white granite you’d like to have installed). The wall color is
nice, but could afford to be a bit lighter. A light, traditional area rug would
anchor the table and chairs. Simple, modern, black and white artwork would add
the final touch. Cannot wait to see the final result!

**Q: Entry way furniture suggestions** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am thinking of adding some furniture to the entry way. Maybe a chair? The end table could be changed. But since the wall is curved. I am having a hard time to find a chair that will look good in this picture. Any suggestions ?

A: Your entry is lovley. Keep it light and simple. You do not want to overwhelm guests with a croweded space when they enter your home. Tall wing back chair and table would be nice.

Another idea would be to have a console table with lamps, which would create a welcoming, warm atmosphere.
Here are some photos from our gallery for inspiration.

**Q: Chris** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the counter top and island top

A: The kitchen/island/pantry in this home is Madre Perla Satin from
