> I would respectfully have to disagree with whoever gave a bad review. We hired Deborah and her team to design an entire landscape after combining two properties, both having a few spectacular old trees but not much else in the way of landscaping. This became a 4 acre property when combined that needed a consistent look and to feel as one property that had always been together. It was large, flat and uninteresting. We asked her to create a sense of warmth and character befitting its historic in-town Princeton location and boy did she deliver! We are still in awe of what a fabulous job she did of creating spaces and ‘rooms’ using borders of trees and beautiful flowering shrubs, boxwoods, perennials, grasses and ferns. We collaborated on the type of gardens we like, shared Pinterest photos and she designed the most fabulous gardens with a white and purple color palette. It’s simply stunning. No one enters the walls of our property without commenting on its beauty. I would recommend Deborah any day of the week. In addition to her creative talent, she is easy to work with, doesn’t overpower you with ego as many creative professionals do and is genuinely a warm and kind person. I wish all our contractors were as flexible and invested in the final results as she is. She designs from the heart and it shows.

> So disappointed. Terrible experience. Happy to discuss all the details of my personal negative experience - please pm me.

> Deb and her team were incredible. From the initial design phase, she listened to what we liked and what we would like our dream outdoor experience to be like. She even came up with ideas that we would never consider and ultimately went with.
> Deb and her team were even there when the plants and trees came in, so they can be inspected before planting; a true first class experience!
> Now, 5 years later, the property is maturing beautifully; nothing overgrown and messy, just perfect.
> We give Deborah Cerbone Associates our highest recommendation and wouldn't do another project without her!

> Deborah and her team created an amazing design for my farmhouse property that resulted in patios and gardens that looked like they had been there for generations. They listened to my objectives, partnered with us through the construction and delivered something unique that exceeded all my expectations. It is simply gorgeous!

> I have known Deborah for almost twenty years. Simply put Deborah and her team are among the most talented group of Landscape Architects I have ever worked with. There are only a handful of professionals that are capable of designing to the level of detail, color, texture, harmony and beauty that they can. It is always a privilege to work with Deb and her team. You can't go wrong with Deborah Cerbone Associated, your home will be gorgeous and admired by all who are lucky enough to enjoy it.

> I have had the pleasure of maintaining some of the beautifully designed gardens that Deb Cerbone and her team designed. The balance of stone work and amazing plant choices make Deb's designs unique yet natural and well matched to the setting. We see many gardens that are designed for the short term with plants that may initially look good, but quickly become too big or not compatible in the space they are in. Not so with Deb's designs. Her plant combination choices are reflective of her extensive knowledge of the growth habits of the plants for the long term. Ellen Kaplan, Owner Dream Gardens

> We recently build a home in New Jersey and hired Deb Cerbone Associates as our landscape architects. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Deb and her team of landscape planners. They designed a landscape that incorporated the plantings that were our favorites as well as suggested scrubs and trees that would do well in our yard. The overall result is magnificent. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with, They designed a fabulous landscape for us including an outdoor living room complete with a fireplace, hot tub and outdoor kitchen. We also had them design and plant bulbs for us. They did and excellent job and we have something blooming in the garden throughout the spring and summer months. We would highly recommend Deborah Cerbone and Associates.

> Deborah Cerbone was wonderful and easy to work with. We turned a rotting deck into a beautiful multi-level patio complete with kitchen and fire place. Statile and Todd did the demolition, electrical, plumbing and construction. Deborah was involved from the first conceptual meetings through to the final plantings. I appreciated that she listened to our ideas but that she brought her wealth of design experience to bear to suggest changes that we couldn't have thought of ourselves. Often, such as when we were designing the fireplace, she gave us several choices of designs. She has great taste and is creative. Her office even helped us find and order our teak patio furniture. All of the people I dealt with at Deborah Cerbone Associates were pleasant, knowledgeable and timely. I would highly recommend the firm.

**★★★★★ — Art Palombo, AIA, NCARB, Sept. 2013**

> I have had the absolute pleasure of working with Deborah Cerbone Associates for the last 15 years. In that time, they have exceeded my expectations in terms of design, follow through and professionalism.

  - Description: This home is located in the historic district of Short Hills, NJ. The homeowners wished to add a 'Great Room', which they were able to achieve through the addition of a beautiful barn and outdoor patio space. The hardscape materials and plants were all selected to bring out the charm of the existing house, and to expand the rustic feeling into the entire property.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Stone and Veneer** *(in Photo Questions)*

What were the Blue Stone and Veneer stone brands? Very nice match!

A: The house and fireplace stone is a Connecticut Granite. The patio stone is a full range pattern bluestone with a natural cleft finish

**Q: television placement** *(in Photo Questions)*

This is lovely! Curious if the TV is left out in the elements - does it get rained on?

A: My guess is the tv light would attract bugs but I don’t know for sure. There are some great products out there to attract and capture bugs that don’t make that obnoxious ZAP sound to remains you that you just torched a bug that could offset the nuisance if it exists.

**Q: what type of stone veneer is this? It looks beautiful!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Bergen County home, White House, black shutters- we are adding a covered patio with fireplace in the backyard and want our grill/fireplace veneer to blend with bluestone patio and grey Belgard pavers. would love advice!

A: The stone is a Connecticut Granite. It’s a 4-8” thick “veneer”. Any stone supplier should be able to tell you where you can get it if they don’t have it. Good luck!

**Q: Is the fencing from Walpole? Can anyone tell me fencing details?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I would love to know the height and if this is wood, vinyl, or AZEK? Help!! Please!!??

A: Hi there! I believe the fence is 36” tall and wood. I can’t remember the contractor. This was done many years ago and I would probably spec Azek if I were to redo it today. Hope this helps!
Deb

**Q: chairs on the patio** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the two patio swivel chairs where did they come from?

A: Daniel,
I believe those were Summer Classics, but 8 or 9 years ago. Chosen to support my clients 6’-4” husband’s back! Good luck in your quest!
Deb

**Q: Pool** *(in Photo Questions)*

Do you know the dimensions of the pool?
Thank you!

A: I believe it’s 18x36.
