> This is the second time we've hired Colleen and Fox Interiors. We loved what she did in our last apartment and we love what she did here. Both projects had special requirements and unique problems which she solved quickly. For this project we wanted to keep as much of the historical legacy as we could while updating the amenities and restoring what had been lost by prior occupants. Sometimes this required rebuilding transoms and matching old floor boards. Some people who have seen the results couldn't tell what was added from what was original. Our first plan changed when a wall we didn't think was going to be removed had to be replaced and while it was gone we decided to leave it out. Colleen adapted instantly and the result is even better that what we had first designed. Colleen is super easy to work with and patient with us. She helped us avoid mistakes and always explained everything clearly. It looks great and works super.

**★★★★★ — Liz Neeb, May 2025**

> Working with Fox Interiors has been an absolute pleasure. Colleen and team's ability to listen, create a vision, and subsequent collaboration made our project approachable AND a ton of fun! One thing I really appreciated in the design process is bringing multiple options to the project while keeping my partner and I on task (no easy feat - ha!) They're also as involved as you want/need them to be throughout the entire project which brings a calm while your home is under construction.

> Beyond their professional skills, Colleen and Stephani are genuinely great humans! Their positive attitudes make them a joy to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for dedicated and talented designers.

**★★★★★ — Megan Bern, March 2025**

> Fox Interiors is a joy to work with -- we are repeat clients and had an amazing experience on our second project with Colleen. Our daughters (8 and 11) were sharing a room and starting to need more independence and control over their living spaces. Colleen and Stefani created a beautiful, personal and highly functional bedroom for each girl. And, since one of those bedrooms had been my home office, they magically turned a playroom from a de facto toy and junk space, into an English library-style office, perfect for me. We highly recommend Fox Interiors and look forward to working with them again!

> We worked with Colleen at Fox Interiors to redesign and repurpose our living room and family room. Colleen spent a lot of time listening to our needs and put together an amazing plan to update our 1957 home. Colleen made recommendations based upon our lifestyle and took into account our 3 pets. She suggested multiple contractors that could take care of the work for us and she matched them based upon our personalities and our needs. Overall, Colleen and her team helped us secure the items we planned to order, and she kept her eyes open for discounts and sales, informing us when the time was right to purchase. Colleen has been an absolute rock for us in this whole process.
>
> We have not completed the renovation as of this point due to life circumstances that put a delay on things. We plan to resume our work with Colleen in the near future. Plus, would gladly and in a heart beat work on different projects within our home with Colleen. We would 100% recommend Fox Interiors as a designer for anyone looking to create an updated look in their home.

**Comment from Fox Interiors:**

> Thank you so much, Chad! I'm so proud of the solutions we developed to fit your lives, your pets, and your home. We're excited for you to get your dream spaces when the timing is right.

> Colleen with Fox Interiors was fantastic. We had a kitchen remodel. Our kitchen is beautiful because of Colleen”s knowledge and expertise. Colleen is kind, enthusiastic and so easy to work with. Our Kitchen is stunning!

> We have now completed two projects with Colleen. A couple of years ago we had a major kitchen overhaul. This year the main bathroom was remodeled. Couldn't be happier with the results. Colleen was a huge asset with her knowledge of materials , where to source them, design advice and general project manager duties where she and the contractor communicated and kept everything on schedule. Invaluable assistance, I wouldn't hesitate to hire her for another project. She made the experience relatively painless, doing all the research for us!

> Colleen’s design and insights were key to our basement remodel. She listened to our goals, helped us align those goals with the space and then presented us with great options. Engaging Colleen took us from anxiety and uncertainty to excitement and, ultimately, an amazing transformation of our home. As a bonus, Colleen is super fun and we really looked forward to spending time with her - which helps when you’re making big decisions.

**Comment from Fox Interiors:**

> Thank you so much! It was a pleasure helping develop a plan for you that maximized the build-out of your basement to add so much functionality to the home. I'm so glad I made the process easier and fun!

**★★★★★ — maryfaithfox, Nov. 2023**

> After working on our kitchen some years ago, Colleen tackled our wish list for the hallway, bedroom and bath. She takes care of all the prickly details that we could never anticipate. She is knowledgable about what lies behind the walls and shares the vocabulary of contractors, plumbers and tile setters, working cooperatively to find the best design solutions.
> Our updated areas are more functional (great closet design!) and attractive. Colleen’s super power lies in making it all come together with no headaches.

**Comment from Fox Interiors:**

> Thank you so much! It was a pleasure working with you again.

**★★★★★ — Megan Bern, Oct. 2023**

> We worked with Fox Interiors this summer for a kitchen refresh. From the second we met Colleen, we were impressed and inspired. She was incredibly warm, fun and nice to the whole family. We loved her taste and design sense – she found a beautiful shimmery blue tile for our backsplash and a farmhouse kitchen table that has transformed how we use our dining nook. We also appreciated how she brought new technology and practical changes to help make our new kitchen work for adults and young kids alike! We loved the results of our project and that it came in under budget. We can’t wait to work with Colleen again and highly recommend Fox Interiors!

**Comment from Fox Interiors:**

> Your family is a delight and it was absolutely my pleasure helping update your home to fit ALL of you!

**★★★★★ — elizbate, June 2023**

> Colleen was GREAT to work with. We were doing a remodel of our basement in a 100+ year old house. We had a lot of dreams of what we needed and hoped this fairly small space could add to our home (a 2nd bathroom, laundry room, an office/guest room, a family room, and a coat closet). We were working within a budget, so needed to do some of the physical work and design work ourselves. Colleen was awesome - she came up with an incredible plan that ended up giving us even more than we could have imagined function-wise in our basement. She gave guidance on where we had options that could keep us in budget, and she advised on my creative vision, making decisions easier, and the final product cohesive. She was very transparent about pricing, and made efficient use of the design time we paid for. She never made us feel awkward about lower price point design choices we made, and the final product is AWESOME.

**Comment from Fox Interiors:**

> Thank you so much, Elizabeth! It was so fun playing around with the possibilities for your basement and how to maximize it for your growing family.

**★★★★★ — HU-749258570, Dec. 2022**

> We are so happy in our new home with thanks to Colleen, who adeptly walked us through the whole process of designing beautiful and useful spaces for us! Our new downtown condo has an open floor plan that made furnishing a challenge. Colleen helped us figure out how we might want to use the various spaces and then designed a plan that provided distinction (between the living room, dining room, cocktail lounge) and flow. We were also switching from an Arts & Crafts style house to a modern industrial loft, so we needed to find new furniture to complement the space. We had some antique rugs that were our "non-negotiables" that Colleen worked with. She found furniture and suggested just the right fabrics with colors and textures that worked with the rugs and pulled off our new look. Working with Colleen was a complete pleasure. She is talented, down to earth and upbeat. She helped us manage our expectations with all of the supply chain issues that delayed our deliveries. We give her an A+ and would recommend her to anyone who wants a refreshing interior design experience.

**Comment from Fox Interiors:**

> Thank you so much! It was a delight working with you both and I'm so glad we were able to create a home that reflects how you live now while incorporating key pieces that have meaning to you.

**★★★★★ — Ann Rainhart, Dec. 2022**

> We've done several large home remodel projects (kitchen and then two bathrooms) with Colleen. I can't imagine these big endeavors without her and her team at Fox Interiors. She brings everything one could possibly want in a designer. She listens first, understands design wants, wishes and priorities. She's creative, but creativity aligned with the client. She's practical, finding reasonably priced options when needed, and also knowing when spending a little extra $$ will get you something truly unique and exceptional. She's outstanding at problem-solving the inevitable issues that arise when taking on a larger project. She's on time--a true project management expert. And she's fun to work with! I'd honestly remodel something just to work with her. She knows her way around a construction site and understands how to communicate well with everyone involved. I can't speak highly enough about working with Colleen!

**Comment from Fox Interiors:**

> Thank you Ann! You know I'm always up for another remodel with you as you're always a joy to work with.

- [Defined Refinement](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/defined-refinement-pj-vj~7866623)
  - Location: Minneapolis, MN
  - Photos: 20
  - Description: Our client approached us with a common problem: when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, her dining room table became her home office and classroom, where she taught as a university professor. But five years on, and with hybrid work an increasing norm, her home “office” still commandeered half of the dining room table, depriving her of any sense of separation between work and home, and depriving the entire family of a functional place to dine together. In short, the home needed defining and refining to m…
- [Serene Ensuite](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/serene-ensuite-pj-vj~7866606)
  - Location: Hanover, MN

  - Description: Designed for recent empty nesters, this primary bathroom transformed an inefficient layout into a restorative retreat by reallocating space to support what matters most. Rather than layering new finishes onto an outdated plan, the design fundamentally reorganized the room, prioritizing comfort, accessibility, natural light, and long-term functionality. The transformation began by absorbing the walk-in closet into the bathroom to create a generous walk-in shower and eliminating the oversized tub…
- [Midcentury Magic](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/midcentury-magic-pj-vj~7889593)
  - Location: Minneapolis, MN
  - Photos: 23
  - Description: Experienced DIY-ers in Minneapolis’ Armatage neighborhood engaged us to design a kitchen in line with the Midcentury Modern style of their home. Against all the beautiful work the clients had already done throughout their house, the kitchen stood out as an eyesore: dated, in need of expert space planning, and desperately out of step with the rest of the home’s elevated Midcentury design. We removed excess soffits, expanded the opening to the dining room and orientated a large, custom island leng…

  - Location: Saint Paul, MN
  - Photos: 22
  - Description: When returning clients purchased a 1904 condo in St. Paul’s Cathedral Hill, we were thrilled to help them reimagine the space. The challenge? Preserving the building’s historic charm while transforming a disjointed layout shaped by both original architecture and 1980s renovations into a home that actually supported their entertaining-focused lifestyle. Opening walls, unfurling an entertainer's dream kitchen, adding a powder bath, and updating the primary bath for both safety and aesthetic, trans…

  - Location: Woodland, MN
  - Photos: 36
  - Description: Returning clients sought help with modernizing their kitchen's original 1970s dark wood cabinets, sloped terra cotta tile flooring, lack of island counter space, an imposing 90” x 36” range hood over the island, and a closed off feel from adjacent rooms. By widening and raising the opening to the den, we brought in more light and improved circulation. We installed a new vent hood flush in the ceiling open up the sight lines, and designed a custom 6” mitered raised bar counter with waterfall end…

  - Location: Minneapolis, MN
  - Photos: 30
  - Description: We updated the kitchen and two bathrooms in this 1978 home in two phases. The kitchen update included relocating the cooking from the island to the wall to allow for superior ventilation, adding a coffee station, a banquette and a floating wall desk. The primary bathroom was opened up by removing a wall between the vanity and the toilet, switching to pocket doors, and enlarging the shower. New finishes provide a warm and inviting soft modern feeling. The hall bathroom was updated within the orig…

  - Description: Inspired by their years in Japan and California and their Scandinavian heritage, we updated this 1938 home with a earthy palette and clean lines to create a Japandi vibe. Rift-cut white oak cabinetry, white quartz counters and a soft green tile backsplash are balanced with details that reference the home's history. Classic light fixtures soften the modern elements.
