The experience we had with her services and product was horrible, and debilitating. After close to 2 years of trying unsuccessfully to get her to resolve the issues, we have an uncompleted and dysfunctional (expensive!) kitchen. Rather than her correcting the numerous issues, in the end she simply washed her hands of it all and sent us an email stating that she is "no longer in business as a kitchen and bath dealer" and that she had to shut down both her showrooms. Now we are in a position to either live with the kitchen as is, or hire someone to finish what she left either undone or wrongly done. Hopefully Bentwood Harmoni will be able to produce the needed cabinetry parts. This remodel experience (our first) was the kind of nightmare experience we had been warned about from friends! Boy, we really didn't see this coming! OUCH! **Comment from The Kitchen Lady:** > For the first time ever and after designing 20,000 kitchens I had to initiate a court ordered restraining order against this couple. > They would drive by my home and they scratched my car in my own driveway. > This is a very very dangerous couple who lives in Laguna Woods in a very small apartment. > These people came after every single contractor who came to their house including, Mission Tile West, Universal Appliances, the people before I was ever there, a flooring company, Sub-Zero, the countertop company, the cabinet company and many more. They had to replace items the client scratched herself on purpose. > We found out that this client had actual mental problems but way too late after the fact. > My team was certain that the client would actual ruin her own product in an attempt to get money back! > At least twenty people felt this client was actually crazy and her husband spent months and months writing 100’s of letters that were all lies. > I barely got of of here alive because her violent husband screamed at me numerous times and I feared for my safety. My lawyer Bruce Voss reviewed the horrible emails and told me I had done a perfect job and that this lady had the same mental disorder of a celebrity he knew. **★★★★★ — User, June 2016** > When I decided it was time to remodel the kitchen in my 1970's tract house, I first attempted to get the design and kitchen cabinets from Home Depot. I soon discovered that they could not provide me with the design I wanted. I needed someone that would start from scratch. I hired Priscilla, The Kitchen Lady and I am glad that I did. Priscilla listened to what I wanted and designed a kitchen that is gorgeous. We removed a wall between the kitchen and the dining room and totally redesigned the layout of the kitchen to create a very open look. A sliding glass door was replaced with a french door, the kitchen window was replaced and a french door was installed off the dining room. The dropped ceiling in the kitchen was removed and LED can lights were installed. Once I had picked which line of cabinets I liked Priscilla checked to make sure there would be no surprises when it came to installation. She also provided help with picking flooring material, counter top and back splash material, appliances, lighting, and plumbing fixtures. Through Priscilla, I hired a contractor that did an outstanding job putting the project together. Together with the kitchen, a powder room was also remodeled. Priscilla is not just an order taker. She provided her input during the entire project. There were no problems, or surprises because she is highly experienced and very good at what she does. She is a professional. We finally decided we needed professional help and spoke with several designers, but after meeting with Priscilla, both felt that she was the right choice. We were very happy with her ideas and the way even in the initial meeting that she was able to incorporate a combination of our ideas. Several designs later (she's a wonderful arbitrator as well as designer), Priscilla was able to come up with a plan that we both absolutely loved, with neither of us feeling we had compromised. She provided the design and helped us select cabinets, hardware, flooring, backsplash, countertops that all worked well together as well as the extras (lighting, for example - we wouldn't have ever chosen the lighting options we now have, and LOVE). The project involved moving walls, raising the ceiling and plenty of new electrical. The contractor she recommended and his whole crew were wonderful - the house was always neat and tidy when they left, and they were very open to answering a LOT of questions...even from my kids, who became very curious about the process. The quality of the work was excellent. The end result was beyond what we originally imagined we could have in our house. I'll admit, we went over budget, but did so with our eyes wide open to the additional costs and decided to let the budget grow based on the pieces we were unwilling to let go of. For the things we couldn't justify the additional money, Priscilla was helpful in making recommendations for more budget conscious decisions, and even Bob, the contractor, let my husband help with the pieces he felt comfortable doing himself to try to keep cost reasonable. Everyone who comes to our house is amazed by the kitchen we now have, and I don't think there has been a month that has gone by (granted, it's been 6 months) since completed that we don't find ourselves working TOGETHER in the kitchen with plenty of space to work in.
