I officially closed my business at the end of 2023. Please feel free to browse, but I’m not taking on new clients.
I am an independent decorator/designer, who has been honored to receive Best of Houzz for Customer Service 5 times, as well as the Houzz recommended designer badge. I owned an interiors store in Fort Smith for 13 years before moving to Northwest Arkansas, and have been helping people with their homes for over 25 years. I have worked with a variety of clients and budgets, including assisting clients choose all the finishes, furniture and decor for their new construction homes to simply helping someone choose a paint color or rearrange their furniture. With that said, I am not a formally trained designer, so if you are looking for someone to do renderings and project boards, I'm probably not the designer for you. I am not about making a name for myself, but rather helping individual clients find their own style! Every home has a story - and that story should be about you - not me! I really enjoy getting to know my clients, learning about their interests, and then incorporating that knowledge into my design! So whether you have a whole home, or just one room that needs help, I'd love to hear about your project and see if I can assist you!

> We hired Ashley for custom drapes and got so much more! Not only are the floor-to-ceiling drapes functional and beautiful, she also advised us on the perfect wall colors to replace the gray that had just been painted by the original owners. Then she took us on a shopping trip to find custom side chairs and gorgeous area rugs that pull everything together. We couldn't be happier with Ashley!

> Ashley helped me with new custom drapes for my dining room and I could not be happier! I have custom drapes all over my house, but none look as good as my new dining room drapes! These are beautiful and Ashley is the reason! Her suggestions, her measurements, her seamstress and installer, and above all, the affordable price were all perfect! She has a great eye and intuitively picks up on your style. She’s sweet, easy going and very reliable. I can’t wait for her to help me with the rest of the house!!!!!

> Ashley Salmons helped me with the final decorating projects on our new home in Bentonville, AR. We worked together on window treatments, area rugs, wallpaper, new furniture items and reupholstering existing pieces. She is extremely likeable and has an easy going personality. What I appreciate most in working with Ashley is her ability to listen to my likes and dislikes. She is never pushy, mindful of any budget restraints, and puts a lot of time into researching fabrics, wallpaper, etc. when making suggestions. I highly recommend Ashley for any decorating need; she is very professional, accommodating, and fun to work with.

> Ashley is a knowledgeable, professional decorator with great ideas for helping you design a fresh look while staying within your budget. She is flexible with your timeline and goals. I have found her to be easy and fun to work with, while providing great results that I enjoy everyday and that I am proud to share with family and friends.

> I worked with Ashley on drapery/shade needs for two rooms. Custom window treatments are costly. I don't plan on staying in the house long term so I needed to save money wherever possible. Her quote came in considerably lower than a quote I had received from another designer for the same job. Ashley was so great in conveying options that would resulted in the cost savings. Ashley communicated the timelines perfectly. Given the size of my job, the install was estimated to take 5 hours. It ended up taking about 4.5 hours and Ashley stayed the entire time with the installers. At the end of the install, she walked me through every single treatment so I could inspect it & make sure I was satisfied. I am so incredibly happy with the window treatments! The costs are definitely a struggle to get your head around. Ashley made the whole process easy and enjoyable, making those costs just a little easier. I highly recommend her & will use her again!!!

> Shortly after breaking ground on our Bella Vista dream home we hired Ashley to assist with some color and design choices. After her skill and expertise became quickly apparent, we were involving Ashley in virtually every decision. Ashley is a true professional. She was always able explain in detail the reasoning behind our choice of colors, textures and materials (tile, flooring, fixtures, etc.) as it related to our design goal. Her eye for color is extraordinary. Ashley is hard working, budget minded and a joy to work with. We are so thrilled with Ashley's results and would recommend her very highly!

> We added a sunroom to our home and needed a professional to help us with decisions on flooring and decor for the room. Ashley really did a super job for us. We are so pleased with the results and the cost was much lower than we had anticipated. We are considering additional projects and will definitely call Ashley Salmons Interiors again.

> We are in the process of updating our home. We have been trying to utilize existing furniture and change the appearance with new upholstery and also updating floor coverings and painting. Ashley has provided many suggestions after much discussion to discover what our ideas were and then leading us to ideas that were in line with our thoughts. Ashley has been very professional in our endeavors.
> We look forward to utilizing her in the future as we continue transforming our home.

> I asked Ashley Salmons to help me update various rooms in my house when we moved to Arkansas. I was already overwhelmed with what needed to be done and was immobilized with indecision. She provided wonderful advice for paint choices, lighting and drapery options. She absolutely nailed it on the fabric for our living room drapes!! It was the first fabric she pulled out and both my husband and I thought it was perfect! The final product is stunning! She also provided us with great choices for reupholstering some chairs in our living room. Ashley is always willing to listen to other ideas, but is not afraid to gently steer me in another direction especially if I'm off course!! Thanks for everything, Ashley!!

> Ashley was great to work with; very personable and has a great eye for color and design. We are nearing retirement and wanted to update our home that we built 12 years ago. She guided us through each step giving us great advice and encouragement along the way. We loved the way she brought a new , "uncluttered" look to our home while re-purposing the items we could not part with! We highly recommend Ashley and will certainly be calling on her for other projects!

**★★★★★ — raysea55, Feb. 2015**

> I can't say enough good things about Ashley Salmons work ethic and expertise!! She was fun to work with. She offers as much or as little advice as you want. She was excellent in explaining why she thought something would look good together or not. Ashley kept the project going from start to finish and as another reviewer mentioned there was a lot that went on behind the scenes with vendors and labor persons that we did not have to deal with that made the job totally stress free. We love all of the colors that we chose together and that she was able to work with some of our existing furniture that we still wanted to keep.
> We would definitely recommend Ashley for any decorating needs one would have. We have some additional projects that we will be having Ashley help us with!!

**★★★★★ — bfeagans, Dec. 2014**

> Ashley was wonderful to work with on building our new home. She was professional at all times bringing her knowledge and expertise to the project. Ashley listened to what we wanted then went to work to provide ideas and products to help meet our goal. She did a lot of work behind the scenes and worked well with vendors as we shopped to find just the right elements. Her innovative ideas shined through when we could not come up with the perfect area rugs and she suggested we go to the carpet store and have a rug made from carpet that would compliment the room. It was a perfect solution and we love our rugs. We would highly recommend Ashley to others whether building, remodeling or simply updating your home. Thank you Ashley!

## Selected projects

- [Bentonville Beauty](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bentonville-beauty-pj-vj~6484946)
  - Location: Bentonville, AR
  - Photos: 16
  - Description: This project was one of my favorites, because I got to be involved from the ground up. There's nothing a designer loves more than a blank canvas. We started with a neutral paint color: Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray, and then I helped the client pick all the finishes, lighting, furniture, and window treatments! The result was a beautiful, open, livable space that anyone would love to spend time in!
- [Out with the Gold, In with the Blue](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/out-with-the-gold-in-with-the-blue-pj-vj~6489788)
  - Location: Bentonville, AR
  - Photos: 31
  - Description: This job was a labor of love that actually has taken place over the last several years, finishing up in 2020. My client was tired of her heavy, overly-trimmed golds, reds and greens, and wanted to update her home to better reflect her bright, fun personality. We chose an assortment of blues, with a few other bright colors mixed in here and there to give her back the joy she had lost! This client did not want to repaint her entire home, so in all fairness, we did leave some gold/yellows on the wa…
- [Leaving Las Vegas](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/leaving-las-vegas-pj-vj~2111023)
  - Location: Bella Vista, AR
  - Photos: 56
  - Description: This is another new-build project in which I was enlisted to help the homeowners choose everything from the ground up, and I'm always so grateful for that kind of opportunity, but this was project was especially meaningful because I got to help this wonderful couple design their dream home! After working many years in high-stress jobs in the Las Vegas area, this couple decided to build and retire in their "dream" lake home in the beautiful Bella Vista area. They really wanted to embrace the natu…
- [A Neutral State](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/a-neutral-state-pj-vj~2879621)
  - Location: Bentonville, AR
  - Photos: 37
  - Description: Everyone thinks working with neutrals is easy, but it's actually a lot harder than doing a job with color. The key to good design with neutrals is using a balance of tones and textures, as well as carefully placed pops of color. This combination creates interest and still makes it feel like home, without being overwhelmed with color.
- [Lovely Living Room](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/lovely-living-room-pj-vj~1463402)
  - Location: Cave Springs, AR
  - Photos: 9
  - Description: This customer called me because she hated her living room! She was just completely stumped. She felt like it was just too dark, and just couldn't figure out what to do! We finally figured out that the sofa was really the problem in this room! My client liked the comfort of the sofa, but just hated the dark brown leather. No problem! I found this beautiful neutral washable linen, and once we recovered the sofa, everything else just fell into place! I included some before and after photos in this…
- [Classically Colorful](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/classically-colorful-pj-vj~1310804)
  - Location: Bella Vista, AR
  - Photos: 23
  - Description: This job has to have been one of the most fun jobs I've done to date! This client was a barrel of fun, and definitely not afraid of color! The problem is she was using her color in all the wrong places! She had bright yellow walls throughout most of the house and then a dark burgundy in the dining room on the walls and ceiling. After some convincing, I talked her into toning down the yellow walls by choosing an ivory paint with a yellow undertone. Her color was still there - just more subtle. By…
- [Pinnacle Panache](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/pinnacle-panache-pj-vj~777004)
  - Location: Rogers, AR
  - Photos: 28
  - Description: These are pictures of 9-month project just completed this past September. When my client and I began, this was just an empty lot in Pinnacle in Rogers. Now it is a fully furnished home any woman would be proud of. This is one of the few projects I've been lucky enough to be a part of from the ground up, and I hope you enjoy looking at all our selections. Upon first meeting with the client, she presented a color scheme that she really wanted to use in her new home. I assisted her in choosing the…
- [Cottage Casual](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/cottage-casual-pj-vj~2530024)
  - Location: Rogers, AR
  - Photos: 19
  - Description: This was a job I really enjoyed doing! These clients bought this home and wanted to make it feel lighter, casual, and cottage-y! We were on a fairly tight budget, but I think by using some of the clients' existing pieces and adding some new pieces as well, we pulled it off! It turned out very cozy, livable, and inviting!
- [Lightened Up Lake House](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/lightened-up-lake-house-pj-vj~911043)
  - Location: Bella Vista, AR
  - Photos: 16
  - Description: This job was a true transformation! This is an older lake home that was just feeling too dark, and really needed some updating! It took some convincing, but once I convinced the clients to paint their rock fireplace, you can see what a wonderful difference it made to their once dark and dreary living area! Some new furniture pieces, window treatments, and accessories help complete the transformation!
- [Lightened Up Lake House Part II](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/lightened-up-lake-house-part-ii-pj-vj~1314613)
  - Location: Bella Vista, AR
  - Photos: 6
  - Description: Last year I had a project called Lightened Up Lake House, in which my clients hired me to update and freshen their older lake house. The biggest eyesore in their main living room was their old dark rock fireplace. After convincing them to paint the rock an ivory color, they liked the look so much, that this year, they hired me to duplicate the look in their basement. You can see from the before and after pic, what a difference this truly made! New, updated furniture, rug, artwork and accessories…
- [Retirement Retreat](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/retirement-retreat-pj-vj~539009)
  - Location: Bella Vista, AR
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: This couple recently retired and down-sized to a smaller home. Now only having one living room, they needed it to be sophisticated enough to entertain, but comfortable enough to relax in after a hard day on the golf course! I think we achieved both, and the clients were extremely happy!

- [Pattern Play](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/pattern-play-pj-vj~1753494)
  - Location: Bentonville, AR
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: This couple hired me to help tie their open concept rooms together and make it feel more complete! They had purchased the new black plaid chair and neutral sofa with red pillows, but beyond that, it was pretty much a blank slate! By adding some beautiful, patterned drapes in colors that coordinated with the new furniture, and adding an architectural patterned rug, along with some new accessories, we added some much needed color and warmth to this open concept home!
- [Window Treatments](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/window-treatments-pj-vj~6484980)

  - Description: I am happy to assist customers with custom window treatments from start to finish. I will measure and estimate your window project, help choose style of treatment and fabric, and order beautiful custom hardware. I have a workroom that does my sewing and a design group that does my installations, but you only deal with me - and I take care of everything else!
