### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Esther LaFontaine, Nov. 2019**

> Deborah Roides is a very highly qualified professional stager and interior designer. I highly recommend her services to help you with any staging project. Her fees are very reasonable and she is very ethical and is very detailed with her project report and her follow up. With Deb Roides help, I was able to achieve my goals to sell my house fast and for the price I was looking for. Thanks Deb for your help. It was a pleasure working with you.

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

> Esther,
> Thank you for your kind words. I really enjoyed helping you to get your home ready to sell. You did an excellent job at implementing my ideas, and I know getting a home ready to sell is a lot of work. I was happy to be a part of it and even happier that you got the results you wanted! I wish you the best on your next chapter!

**★★★★★ — coyneob, Nov. 2019**

> Deb guided me through a 6 month kitchen renovation and garage/loft addition. I met with Deb every other week but she was always available ( usually within minutes) through text and e mail when unexpected changes or needs came up. Her skills with room layout, paint colors and general vision to incorporate my thoughts with practicality were outstanding!
> Deb is experienced, professional and overall a very kind person! I will miss our regular communications!

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

> I thoroughly enjoyed working with you and getting to know you as well. I always look forward to getting to know my clients, as well as helping them achieve their goals for a project. I hope you enjoy your new spaces and look forward to keeping in touch!

**★★★★★ — Kelly Wendlandt, Nov. 2019**

> This was our first experience working with an interior designer, and we thought Deborah was great. She took time to learn what we wanted and then made suggestions that worked with our needs/desires. She helped us with colors, paint finishes, flooring and accessories, and we love the finished product - the rooms are updated and nice, but they still reflect our personalities. We would use her again for future projects.

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

> Kelly and Bill,
> Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I really enjoyed working with you both, and I appreciated all your openness to my ideas and the DIY that you were able to do to save money. I have to say, the whitewash fireplace that you executed came out so well! I hope I get to work with you both again. Until then, enjoy!

> Deb helped me remodel my kitchen. She helped bring my ideas to life and gave me great direction and assistance. Her plans were detailed and accurate. She listened very well. She was responsive and friendly. Deb did a fantastic job!!

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

> Thank you Lynn. I loved meeting you and helping you redesign your kitchen. Your home is so nice already, and now the kitchen will steal the show.

**★★★★★ — Darci Dembroski, Dec. 2017**

> Deborah was very flexible in working with my schedule and my timetable for the project. We took a day to shop together and she was always helpful and inspiring with ideas but never pushy. I appreciate her knowledge in all things design from paint colors to furniture to finishing touches on the wall. She helped me to bring my master bedroom project to a level that I would never have achieved on my own. I highly recommend Deb for any project you have- I believe you won't be disappointed.

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

> Thank you Darci, I m so glad you are happy with your bedroom. It was truly my pleasure to help you update this space to a space you enjoy!

**★★★★★ — Destiny Burke Whipple, Dec. 2017**

> Deborah is so easy to talk to and express ideas to. She has a very impressive background in Interior Design and showed nothing less when she came into my home. Very professional and friendly but her work speaks volumes for her talent.

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

> Destiny, thank you for your kind words. Getting to know you has been an absolute pleasure. I look forward to continuing to help you transform your new house into the home of your dreams!

**★★★★★ — kathryn\_ribbeck, Dec. 2017**

> Debbie is great to work with. She has magical eyes and can transform anything! She helped me pick paint colors that I struggled for months on. And just the arrangement of furniture (that I had like that for 8+ years)....opened the room up and made it inviting.

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

> Thank you Kathryn, it was a pleasure to help you with your home!

**★★★★★ — jkmichaud5, March 2017**

> Deb helped transform my living room into a relaxing, useable space. She supported my intent to use or repurpose items that I already had.
>
> The finished room was a remarkable transformation.

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

**★★★★★ — HU-343968, Sept. 2016**

> Deb designed a beautiful kitchen for our safe house project. She listens attentively to your desires and produces work of excellent quality.

**★★★★★ — wjcanutegoss, Sept. 2016**

> We contacted Deborah to help with the plethora of decisions that we needed to make with our kitchen, bathroom, living room, and dining room renovation. Even though we had a kitchen company doing the work, and they had made the design. We had her take a look at it. She made great suggestions to their plan and we had them include them in their design.
>
> She turned us onto a great floor company, and she helped with selections. She made a suggestion about painting our stairs railings to our upstairs, something we had not really thought of. It really has made a difference.
>
> Found her to be accommodating in scheduling appointments, and she was great about getting back to us. Even though we were doing the majority of the work ourselves, she checked in to see how we were progressing. We are going to have her help us with placement of furniture, plus rug, curtain, and picture decisions.
>
> We haven't even got this project done yet, but are already talking about having her come in to look at our family room.
>
> You will not be disappointed if you have Deborah Roides Interior Design come into your home.

**Comment from Deborah Roides Interior Design:**

> Jackie and Wayne,
> Thank you for your kind words. It has been a pleasure working with you! I am looking forward to helping with the final touches, and whatever else your needs may be.
> Best,
> Deb Roides

**★★★★★ — diane\_campoli, Dec. 2015**

> My husband and I were delighted to work with Deb Roides. We took on the task of renovating our kitchen, living room, dining room, front hall and bathroom, all at once. I felt SO overwhelmed and didn't know where to begin. We had so many decisions to make (at one time) and she helped to prioritize and address each one at the time a decision was necessary to move forward in our project. Deb kept our budget under consideration with every suggestion she made. She was readily available by phone, text or to stop over to tackle the next phase of the renovations. We highly recommend Deb Roides for your next project.

**★★★★★ — Ethan Willistein, Dec. 2015**

> I am a remodeling contractor who worked with Deb on 3 bathroom remodels. Her designs turned out really well and the client was very happy with the final results! From a contractors point of view having all of the design work done by a professional: fixtures selected, floor tile, wall tile, paint colors, lighting selected, etc. made the project flow very smoothly. Deb also worked very closely with her client to make sure they got what they wanted and the that the bathrooms turned out beautifully! I would highly recommend Deborah Roides to any of my clients.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Curb appeal** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have been in our house for almost 2 years now and are just finally getting to do some curb appeal. We are stuck on what we are able to do that will look nice, not break the bank and is also child friendly ( our kids are 7,7 & 5)

we have just laid down some top soil to get some grass to grow. I want to paint the front deck and the door, but I'm stuck on what colors to go with. And what else to do besides putting a couple flowers around.

A: I recommend:
1-add shutters to upper and side window. It will create texture, contrast and dimension and add a lot!
2-add a bench or bistro set for a place to sit a while. this will provide an outdoor space to enjoy and also add color, texture and dimension.
3-paint the railing white. This will give a crisp clean look and define the porch, yet relate to window trim.
4-add a plant bed with some curve to it and later plants, tall near railing and then shorter in front.
5-add grass in front of plant bed.
6- paint front door an accent color from porch accessories
7- add a potted plant and welcome mat

**Q: White trim color** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Looking for a good off white color for Kelly Moore Lemongrass. Swiss coffee is too white for my taste. Thanks!

A: Dover white from Sherwin Williams

**Q: What kind of flooring** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Just bought a new house and need to do new flooring. Laminate, hardwood, engineered? Tile in kitchen or stick with one of the above?
We have had all the floors in previous houses and I feel there is pros and cons to both. Laminate has come along ways in past year!

A: I would go with wood or wood look. tile is hard and cold on legs and feet in a kitchen with whee you tend to stand prepping a lot.

**Q: 1/2 brick 1/2 siding garrison -time for a new exterior** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We recently purchased our first home, a real fixer-upper in the northeast. We removed the overgrown landscaping and are now ready to replace the cedar shakes and roof. We thought we'd have plenty of time to decide on colors, but the contractor had a schedule change and is starting next week. Eek!
We want to keep the brick. I want to paint the the brick and foundation white and use a blueish/gray vinyl shake with white trim and gray roof. My husband wants a brown roof. He wants to replace the shutters and I want to remove them altogether. Thoughts?
We agree on the following: replace the storm doors, front light (we like the nautical lantern look), mailbox, and remove the antenna.
I would like to build a porch from the front door to the laundry/mud room, but it's not in the budget right now. We will replace the walkway and stairs when we do the porch.

A: I would consider pairing it all one color so you don't chop it up and I vote for black shutters
https://magnoliamarket.com/our-show/episode-08-the-shingle-shack/

**Q: Where do you find out about the latest decorating colors/trends?** *(in Polls)*

Which source do rely on and trust for keeping up to date with the latest style in home decor? If you use more than one of the choices below, please mention them in the comments!

A: brands like Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams. I do also use catalogs like Pottery Barn. They put out a Sherwin Williams color palette for the season.

**Q: Is this TV too high?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We got rid of a huge cabinet in our master and wall mounted the TV. It is very comfortable viewing (it tilts down and is on a full motion mount), but when not watching - it just looks high on the wall. The furniture under could be taller - but it is what we have an I can't replace it. Thoughts? Thanks!

A: I think it is at the proper height for viewing on bed, but you may want to add a taller chest under it
