In fact, Mike is our client. When we discovered that we had a master bath that was experiencing leaks into the structure, we chose Commonwealth Contracting to do the work. Over the years we have known Mike he's always had the highest recommendations. And he has always stood behind his work. We expected that this kind of quality would come with a cost a bit higher than others, and even knowing that, we still chose to get only a single bid from Commonwealth. The remodeling didn't go exactly as planned. Mike forgot to tell the demo crew that we were keeping our spa tub, and it was torn out. Upon discovering this, Mike stepped up to the plate and said he would replace it at his expense. Demo revealed that the rot and mold damage was more extensive than we expected. And was going to cost much more to repair. Then, one of Mike's long-time subcontractors did by not pay attention to details of installing tile or the finishing details. We were not at all happy. At our request, Mike came out and reviewed our concerns, agreed with us on how to remedy the poor quality work and then sent in a person to do the re-work who was as detailed as anyone could possibly be. This guy (who's name was also Mike) did the agreed upon re-work. We do love the look of our new bathroom. We wish there had been less angst, but in the end, it was made right. If you're looking for a contractor who will care about his work, and fix things when they don't go right, this is the person to hire. **★★★★★ — iyayz, Aug. 2018** > I needed to add a bathroom and utility area, but did not want to increase a footprint of the house and decided to incorporate my carport into a living area. It allowed me to save on roofing and foundation, but created certain logistical difficulties in the project. Mike and his crew have creatively addressed all the issues which allowed me to maximize the living area while still being compliant with all the building codes. Work on the project was well planned and performed according to the schedule. In fact it took longer to wait for building permit from the county than the project itself. I also wanted to point out that Mike possesses a rare quality for a contractor, - he is very punctual and responsive. He had returned all my calls/e-mails within a day and had addressed all my concerns or requests in a timely manner. The first was a room above our garage to create a home studio and now a complete renovation of our kitchen and floors in almost all of the living space. The flooring was porcelain tile that looks like hardwood. These long and heavy tiles are notoriously tricky to put in completely level - the install was perfect and the floors look beautiful.. They did an amazing job - always on time, always clear on what was happening and when, always reliable. We plan on using them again in the future to update a bathroom. The first was installing braIlian cypress wooden floors in our 4800 Sq ft home. They did a wonderful job. The team was courteous and professional. They were very respectful of our living space and schedule. The second was building a 17X15 foot covered pavillion outside at our in-ground pool. Mike designed the structure to match well with the house and other structures on the property. His team was professional and showed the quality of workmanship we have seen in the past and finished on schedule. I have no reservations in recommending Commonwealth construction after having two very different and substantial projects performed without issue by Mike's team. We contacted Mike and in two days he showed up to see the scope of work. After we received the quote he said he would have it done in six weeks, and he DID! > We had our lower Level changed into a game room with reconstruction to the whole lower level, reconstruction of a bathroom, kitchen, all new electrical, demo of all the drywall walls and ceiling and repainted ceiling, floors and walls. They far exceeded our expectations and were easy to work with. They did many upgrades to our original quote, they all revolved around safety- I really appreciated that. They finished on schedule. They were very respectful when we were in the house. Michael was very open to making changes during the project and called us when he or his foreman, Ben had good ideas for changes. This is our 2nd big renovation with Commonwealth Construction, each done with impeccable professionalism. This project was in a 40 year old building with some pretty difficult hurdles to overcome. Walls were removed, ceilings redone , including the lighting, a complete kitchen demolition and custom cabinet remodel, and final finish carpentry and painting on the living room, kitchen and hallways. The project took a few weeks and had one surprise after another due to old mistakes being uncovered. Mike was very professional throughout and worked with us to resolve any issues. All of his team, from the plumbers and electricians to the cabinet maker, marble experts, and floor finishers were all craftsmen. Although it was a small space, relatively speaking, it was turned into a nice little jewel of a new living/cooking/dining area. The latest was to demolish and re-pour our existing concrete driveway.
