> Artisan of Seagrove, personified by the owner, Peter Horn, deserves the highest award for excellence. From the start of our Emerald Coast Florida project, which began with a phone inquiry while standing in the garden in New York State, to my completed Florida beach cottage in the vicinity of coastal highway 30A, Peter Horn has been exemplary. His knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and design, as they relate to the local ecology, is limitless. The project itself, though small in comparison to the norm for the area, was considered significant by us; however, Artisan managed to come very close to budget. For some added fun, Mr. Horn even provided us with aerial views of our house during construction. He has lived in the area since childhood and knows many who are responsible for its development. We felt that we were not only getting a house, but that we were getting an introduction to a community. It is amazing that, from that first contact with Peter Horn, we felt that we could trust him and his crew of true "artisans" to complete our beautiful cottage; as we waited from afar in cold New York. Thank you, to the Horn family.

> I have had a relationship with Artisan Construction for about 28 years. They have built numerous homes I've designed and their craftsmanship and integrity are second to no one. In addition, they bring an extensive knowledge of green building techniques to their projects. I hope to continue to be involved with them for many years to come.

> Hiring and working with a builder should never be an intimidating or contentious task. You will be working closely with this person for a long time. I have worked on numerous projects over the years with Artisan of Seagrove and they have proven time and again to be creative problem solvers, who build incredibly beautiful and functional homes. Their team is fun to work with and I've seen many of our mutual clients become life-long friends with Artisan, long after the project is complete. Their craftsmanship is top-notch whether you're looking to build a beach bungalow or a high-end retreat. They stay current on building trends, are knowledgeable about green building, and can recommend trusted local resources. They are honest about what to expect throughout the building process and open to different ideas.

## Community Q&A

**Q: does this home have a concrete roof?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Just curious if this is a concrete home, including the roof

A: Yes, it's a concrete tile roof with a white slurry coating.

**Q: Sink** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me the name of the sink and type of installation, please.

A: Link to sink is here. Meant to be an under-mount, but used as a drop-in for this application to preserve the butcher block counter tops.

**Q: What is the brand of the ottoman?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Yes! They are the made by Lee Industries.

**Q: Paint color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the paint color please?

A: Thanks for your interest! Benjamin Moore Slate Teal (2058-20)

**Q: Wallpaper** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the name of the wallpaper?

A: Thanks for your interest! It is called Portico in Nickel by Romo.

**Q: What material did you use for the front porch and railing?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We are getting ready to redo our front porch and I love this design.

A: It's mostly just painted nominal lumber, but the stair railing is painted extira. The deck is 5/4 x 6 treated pine, and the railing is 2x4 treated pine. The rail cap is just a bevel cut 2x6. Good luck on your porch redo!
