## Community Q&A

**Q: How to jazz up this antique credenza?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We received this hand made antique credenza which includes a working (!!) record player. I'd like to repurpose it as a sideboard/buffet for our dining room. You can see the flooring, wall paper and wainscoting of the dining room in the photo. Any suggestions on the best approach to refinishing/painting this piece most appreciated!

A: Are you open to the idea of painting it? a lacquer would be my first choice. White perhaps, with two large lamps, two large ginger jars and a beautiful bowl right in the middle of it all!

**Q: Which frames for above the bed?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi all, trying to decide which frames to put above the bed. I have square white frames, rectangle silver frames, or smaller ornate silver mirrors. Curtains are grey/silver. Any suggestions to what looks best and what sort of art to use? I'm thinking black and white sketches. Many thanks!

A: I like the silver frames, Placement is key. Not to high above the headboard. take the night stands and put them together on the side where you have the most room, hence creating a chunkier nightstand. Find 2 larger Mercury glass lamps, remove the other items from the table. Find a round or larger nightstand for the opposite side of the bed. Perhaps a round glass top or a rectangular. Marshall's or Home goods is always a good place to start looking for these items. Last, I love an inviting bed. You need two more queen pillows, lay them flat on each side, stand the others up one in the back one in the front. Find 3 18" pillows that complement your bedding, perhaps a pop of color. Maybe raspberry or golden yellow. Have fun.
