I’d like to introduce myself – I’m Marie Stewart of Marie Stewart Interiors, serving the Santa Clarita & San Fernando Valleys.

Interior Design has been a lifelong passion of mine.  After years of assisting my friends and family with their decorating decisions, I decided to make a career of it.  In 2008 I received my Certificates in Interior Design, and Interior Design Merchandising.  In July of 2009 I opened my own Residential Interior Design Business, followed by earning my Associates Degree in Interior Design in 2010.

Decorating your home can be a daunting task! Space planning, durable fabrics, correct lighting and accessories, quality furniture pieces... Where do you begin? I'm here to help! I have wholesale accounts with 70 to 80 top furniture & home decorating manufacturers, of fabrics, window treatments, bedding ensembles, area rugs, wallpaper, accessories, lighting, upholstered furniture and case goods. With access to so many options, I'm able to provide my clients with the perfect design solutions, for their specific lifestyles. I also attend Vegas design week in order to keep up with current trends and newly available products.

I feel blessed to be able to make a living doing something that brings me such joy, and there’s nothing better than having clients be thrilled with the end result!

**Q: kitchen cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi there,
Where the kitchen cabinets refurbished? If yes, what type of paint did you use to give a face lift on the cabinets? My cabinets are currently that ugly color cabinet. I love white cabinets! The project came out looking marvelous! Bravo

A: Thank you for your interest. The cabinets were redone by my professional cabinet guys. I'm not sure if they use oil or acrylic paint, but I know that it's sprayed on, and they always spray a lacquer finishing coat, that gives it a satin furniture finish. Here is a copy of the description of the kitchen work:
The original cabinet boxes were used, but re-skinned to hide the wood grain. A larger crown molding was used, as well as new shaker-style doors, brand new drawers, and inner pull-outs - all self/soft closing. A new stainless sink, faucet and cook-top were also added. The rest of the appliances will be replaced in stainless steel, as required. Gorgeous granite counter tops, a crackle subway tile back-splash, and antique brass knobs & pulls tie everything together with the new luxury vinyl floor. Of course, removing the dated fluorescent lighting, and adding recessed LEDs on a dimmer goes without saying!

A: Hi, the paint color is Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage. The finish is either 'flat' or 'velvet'...
