> Do not hire this company. Our experience with this company was a nightmare. We ended up hiring a lawyer because they wanted more money for work not completed. And the work that was completed was on the CHEAP!!!

**★ — HU-920640356, Feb. 2022**

> i hired cardinal construction to do work on my basement in August 2021. He took $9000 of my money and never did anything, Do not hire this company its a fraud. We are currently in court trying to get my money back.

**★ — Tracy Fritchman, May 2020**

> We initially hired Cardinal Construction based on their good ratings and personal recommendations but have been disappointed with the amount of time they took to completed the work. The basement build was supposed to take 12-16 weeks and they are still not 100% complete going on week 36. Last night I got a call from a flooring subcontractor telling me he was forced to put a lien on my house because Cardinal Construction had not paid them for the flooring used in my project. We have paid Cardinal Construction all but the last 8% because they have not finished the punch list items. I am also very disappointed in the quality of Cardinal Constructions painting contractor, We had to get painters back out to repaint rooms that were not covered properly (primer showing through finish coat) and an entire alcove was not painted at all. I had to scrap paint off light switch/receptacle covers, hinges, doorknobs, and light fixtures.

> Note that the estimated completion date below was a required entry by Houzz. I have zero confidence that the project (started in June 2018 and estimated as 16 weeks) will finish by that June 2019 time. I am currently speaking with an attorney about legal recourse due to Charley not paying an HVAC subcontractor for work performed in and funds dispersed to Charley from the bank draw in Q4 2018. The HVAC subcontractor is threatening to place a lien on our property. Charley has been unresponsive to both parties for weeks on the matter.

> After interviewing several contractors and design companies we hired Cardinal Construction to finish our basement, build a complicated screened deck and renovate the laundry room. We feel fortunate to have found them and are very pleased with their work. Charley Hipple and Jim Betancourt are easy to work with and always make themselves available. They are the epitome of honesty and integrity. Charley impressed us immediately with his depth of knowledge and experience in construction. He knew what would work and what wouldn't, which is not as easy as you see on tv. He created professional drawings and a detailed budget and guided us with his extensive knowledge of current trends. Jim has been our Project Manager. He managed the sub-contractors very effectively and was at the house every day to keep things moving and on track. I couldn't be more pleased with choosing Cardinal Construction. They're amazing.

> Thanks so much Jim & Laurie! It is a pleasure to work for such nice people and we'll continue to strive to make you happy customers. Thanks again!!!

> Cardinal Construction designed and built-out our basement. They built a bedroom, HVAC closet, bath, entertainment closet, theatre room with a wet bar and sink. My experience was very positive. All of the employees and sub-contractors were very friendly. The crew finished on time and budget and communicated with us throughout the project.

> Overall, we had a very good experience with three separate projects. Charlie is very professional, honest and knowledgeable. Jim Bettencourt provided exceptional service. The amount of time was underestimated for the projects.

> Cardinal construction completed a basement apartment with full kitchen, bathroom, screened in porch, parking pad and path. They did a phenomenal job and nearly a year and a half later we are still so happy with the quality of work. They are extremely honest and fair and I have recommended them to friends who are currently using them to remodel their basement after seeing ours.

> Thanks so much for your review. I'm glad you are enjoying your space! Thanks for your business Suzanne

**★★★★★ — Donald Campbell, May 2016**

> We could not be more pleased with Cardinal Construction. Our project was to remodel the basement adding three rooms to the existing layout, a full bath and a full kitchen. We interviewed three companies before selecting Cardinal. Prices were commensurate across the three and all the companies presented themselves well. What stood out about Cardinal was a sense of inherent trust and confidence. Our preliminary judgment was on target. Cardinal did everything right. They were on time, on budget and a pleasure to work with. Our project manager was great to work with. He always did what he said and did it in the timeframe he promised. One of the key things with general contractors, who you spend a lot of time vetting, is believing that their sub-contractors have the same integrity and commitment as the boss. Every one of the subs was excellent as measured by their quality of work, attention to detail, professionalism and friendliness. They were great artisans and a pleasure to have in our home. We highly recommend Cardinal Construction.

> Thanks so much for your review Don. Mary Lynne and you were wonderful to work with as well. We look forward to starting on your bathroom soon. Thanks again!!

**★★★★★ — Joe Rouw, April 2016**

> We worked directly with Charlie and Jim for the buildout of our office space and they were great to work with. Both were easy to contact and communicate with during the project. We are very happy with the quality of the work for our office space.

**★★★★★ — Don Waddell, April 2016**

> I have built and done many home remodeling projects over the years. When I hired Cardinal(Charlie Hipple) to do some work at my daughters house the project from start to finish was handled seamlessly. The finished workmanship we all are very happy with. This is the second project they have handled for me and I can't say enough good things about them.
> Thank you Cardinal.

**Comment from Cardinal Construction, Inc.:**

> Thank you so much for your business and nice review Don. You have been a pleasure to work for. I'm so glad that you are happy with the work we did and look forward to working with you again.

**Q: What brick is this? We want it!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Brand and color?

A: It is Cherokee Melrose. I built this house for ourselves in 2006 and still live there. I don't know if Cherokee still makes it or not. I used ivory buff mortar and left it a little

**Q: Is this out of style?** *(in Photo Questions)*

The gray brown cold industrial look like this is fading fast in popularity? How much did this cost you and has it maintained value?

A: No, we still do it quite often. This is a LVT (Luxury Vinyl tile). some call it LVP (plank). It has a cork backing to help with softness and is very popular. It runs around $5.50 sq ft installed. Thx

**Q: what is the flooring?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: it is a LVT floor with cork (Coretec) backing
