We were definitely not looking for “cookie cutter”, but instead something distinctive and quirky that harmonized well with the basement’s old stone foundation and brick walls. What Patrick created is spectacular: a beautiful, calm space with repointed stone on the outer walls, exposed beams in the ceiling and whitewashed brick, and tiled and painted surfaces that are visually interesting but not cluttered-looking. Even the vanity that Patrick created is striking, with unfinished and antiqued wood surfaces and drawers made from wine crates. And the whole project went very smoothly, with all of the members of Patrick’s team doing a great job. In short, the result was well beyond our expectations.
