So much better than the many grills I had owned prior. Recently we experienced a problem with one of our RH Peterson products, and their customer support person went above and beyond to help make it perfect. In my estimation, this is the go-to company for grills and outdoor refrigerators. ### All 8 reviews **★★ — G49, May 2024** > I had the Fire Magic Echelon E790 gas grill installed in my outdoor kitchen about six years ago. While I enjoy cooking on it, I am very disappointed with the build quality and customer service. Something is always going out on it. I am on my third digital thermometer and on/off switch. The first thermometer was replaced under warranty, but I've had to pay nearly $500 for each of the replacements. The thermometer just makes weird patterns on the display and eventually dies. Even the fake chrome on the cover flakes off over time. The unit I have now is starting to act up and I will likely have to replace it soon. When I've called customer support, they just play dumb and refer me to their replacement parts service. The spring that is supposed to gently lower the lid has broken twice. I bought the grill, side burner, outdoor rated refrigerator and several cabinets from an authorized local dealer. They can only shake their heads. I live in northern California, not a harsh climate, and keep the grill covered. For a product that is supposed to work outside, it has been very disappointing as it's very expensive, but unreliable. **★★★ — J Fisher, Feb. 2024** > I spent about 6k on a Fire Magic Aurora grill 3-4 years ago. It has repeatedly had problems with the ignitor mechanisms since just days after I got it. The company was initially very good about sending someone out to fix it but the ignitor problems have persisted now beyond the warranty period and I am now being told that its on me to pay for the labor to repair the ignitors. Again, the ignitors on my grill were a problem from the very beginning and if they are continuing to be a problem, there is absolutely no way that I should be the one paying for this. Especially on a $6,000 grill. > > I also have to say that the grill has way more flare-ups than other grills I have used and doesn't get nearly as hot as a much less expensive Napoleon grill that my dad has. During that time I have worked with the most of the top manufacturers of grills and outdoor kitchen equipment. After trying all the others, myself and my firm now only suggest Fire Magic products to our clients. Fire Magic now represents 95% of the equipment installed in our outdoor kitchens.
