## Community Q&A

**Q: Help with TV placement!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are purchasing a home and having difficult with TV placement in the den! We can't seem to come up with a solution...any help is much appreciated! The walls not shown, one is a sliding glass door, the other is a blank wall we were planning on placing the couch against.

A: Hi Stephanie Ann,
Do you have more photos of your room?
Do You think about removing or remodeling the fireplace and the bookcase or not?
Maybe a retractable support for tv would be a short term to solution, but if you thinking about remo, could have more options.

**Q: Backsplash Help** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Can't decide on a backsplash - any ideas?
Countertops are Calacatta marble, walls are painted Sherwin-Williams Passive.

A: Hello,
How is all clear, you can choose a dark color to give a contrast.
I also suggest you to add lighting under the cabinet to give a special touch.
Bye

**Q: Picture is to small above sofa in family room.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I was thinking some white shelves. My husband really likes the brown walls with the new brown furniture. If I can figure out how to brighten the room with wall decorations I think it might work. Any suggestions would help. Here are some pictures of all the walls.

A: Hello swells65,
Without the measures, or your budget, it is a little more difficult, but here are my suggestions for you, which can of course be made on your time and choose colors that work well for you.
1 - Paint the white bookcase and put the mirror in the larger niches or LED light.
2 Behind the sofa my sujest art about the size of the sofa, or create several pieces with this impression, in large lamps on side tables help create a symmetry. (Try to pull the illumination to top)
3 Below the window, a bank that adds extra seats and serve to store toys.
4- It is not sin overlap rug on the carpet, so if you get stuck, opt for one that is slim, perhaps with a different texture.
5-Group your whiteboards that are on the right wall, put together by the window in the doorway.
6- The coffee table I replace it with a padded, or if you dont find a large, you can group two or even four small that will serv for footrest and extra seats as well.
I hope you enjoy, and if in doubt, let me know.
Bye, Bye.
PS:Sorry my english.

**Q: Help with paint colors, please!!!!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm trying to create a unified scheme for multiple spaces and having such a hard time. We have an open concept kitchen, breakfast eating area, and sitting area that I'm doubling for my 13month old daughter to have a playspace while I'm in the kitchen.
Our kitchen cabinets and all the trim in the house is painted simply white by BM. Her playspace is 50% Galveston grey by BM and the beat board on the island and on the peninsula is 100% Galveston. Our subway tile is pumice and the dining room off our kitchen is Ashley gray by BM.
My original plan was to paint the hallway and breakfast nook in 50% Galveston as well and use 100% under the chair rail.

My issue now is once on walls with the lighting, it seems to be too similar in hues. Ideas?! The one I have going is to create an accent under the chair rail and use Kendall charcoal and keep the 50% Galveston since the space is lighter with the skylights. I could add accent with curtains and the new table we need to buy. But then my issue is what color table? And how to pull in the red couch with decor? Our kitchen and pendants are contemporary but I'd like to incorporate some comfortable pieces that make it feel like a home. Maybe a distressed wood table with a bench and chairs? I'd LOVE love love any and all ideas. I'm overwhelmed and too close to it all!

A: Hi Carolyn,
I really like the gray. You have a beautiful house!!!!!
My suggestion would be, the current gray on the underside and one of the colors from the color palette I'll post it here or, you put a darker blue color underside and lighter gray or lighter blue above.
Bye.

A: Hi Sean,
I am sending a layout suggestion.
I did not read the other reviews, so if you have any similar idea, it's because we think the same way, kkkkk

Ready furniture that can be customized in color and the way you want.
My opinion is that this fireplace hole is useless, so my idea is to put a wooden panel on this wall, up and down, or even using some pretty rug or fabric to behind the couch to plug.
Using this color carpet, use art, accessories and pillows in the same tone to compose.
In a small space it is good to have multipurpose mobile, then the study table, serves meals and if you have stackable chairs, it can turn dinner table or study with friends.

I hope you enjoy.
Success for you.
