We increased the depth to 20" 7/8 to fit the Ventahood liner (BH240SLD-SS) we also bought from Hoodsly. We had an issue with the size of the hood (they accidentally sent us a hood with the wrong depth), but they made it right and were super helpful and awesome to deal with. We hadn't used Hoodsly before, and tbh, I was a little nervous about buying a range hood from an online dealer. But, their customer support was fantastic, their sales team helped us make the right choices in size, style and functionality. We are always here to help! **★★ — HU-851210988, May 2023** > Order process was good, site was easy to navigate and customize hood design but you can definitely tell it’s a company that is trying to snatch money wherever they can. Everything costs significantly extra and I’m not exactly sure why. Sure, if you are adding material cost or if it required different tooling then I could understand but they are supposedly building every hood custom, no? So if dimensions change slightly (I.e they allow you to select it from a pre existing design) then why would there be such a high cost difference (10-20% or more) for every selection? In the end, expect the sticker price to double by the time it arrives at your door. This I feel is disingenuous and an extremely sleazy business practice. The advertising and google hit prioritization on a product that is not delivered for the advertised price is off putting and makes it seem like a money grab kinda company or (more likely) a techy middleman that runs the site and business end while “outsourcing” the manufacturing at a significant profit margin. > Finally why such a low rating? > The delivery service they used was absolutely atrocious! This, plus the website is most likely the only direct customer interaction with the company. I understand they contract out the last mile delivery but they really need to do a better job (at least in my case) vetting the curriers. Absolutely atrocious communication and customer service from the delivery service. From flat out getting hung up on when trying to schedule the delivery, to “that’s not my problem” approach, it took every inch of me to not to cancel the order entirely and demand a refund just from the delivery experience. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt and wanted to continue my construction project. So I proceeded. > Overall quality of the product is “fair” it does not have a premium feel or look up close and I would not recommend if trying to match a high end kitchen. When ordering I did expected it to be more “budget” oriented, but by the time I payed what I did (explained earlier) I would much rather have spent the few hundred dollar difference and gone with a local custom maker. **★★★★★ — Riley Murphy, April 2023** > I love my sexy new HOOD!
