That project was a most positive experience from start to finish delivering for us the exact home we wanted in every detail. I reviewed that project on Houzz back in July of 2018. Without a second thought, once again, we immediately returned to Chelsea Construction + Design when we decided to construct a 510 sq. foot ADU in the corner of our garden. It is mere days from completion, and is a little jewel far exceeding our expectations. The ADU seamlessly matches the exterior of our home in every way and looks like it has always been there. Owner Mark Snashall came to discuss our project within 24 hours of our first phone call. We told him we really needed the kitchen done before Christmas (a little over 4 months), even though the scope of work was large. He said his team could do it, and they did: we were using our beautiful new kitchen by about December 15. This 'can-do' attitude prevailed throughout. The firm handled change orders smoothly, and its billing was accurate. (All this contrasts to the service we got from the design team of the design / build firm that Chelsea replaced.) There was very little 'down time.' In fact, a couple of times the Chelsea team put in hours beyond the normal workday/week in order to deliver on schedule. The foreman / supervisor, Jorge Ponce, had good ideas, was focused on details as well as the big picture, kept in regular communication, and was an all-around pleasure. Everyone on their team was polite and attentive to things like security and cleanliness. The quality of Chelsea's work --both theirs and the work of the subs they supervised -- was excellent. And by the way, Chelsea's bid was lower than others we'd received.
