### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Keith Rossman, Dec. 2021**

> Fall 2021, we had a long-awaited kitchen remodel. Our home was built in YEAR, and we wanted to retain as much of the original charm as possible. It was especially challenging because this meant keeping some of the original cabinets and replacing others. We’re so glad we worked with iCabinetry Direct.
>
> They were able to recreate the look of the original cabinets, so our final look is really cohesive and beautiful. And not only was the style spot on, but the quality of the cabinets can’t be beat. They’re strong and beautiful.
>
> Even more than the cabinets (which we love), we are so impressed by the iCabinetry Direct team.
>
> Our designer, Margaux, was so responsive and patient with us through many rounds of revision. Our kitchen, like the rest of this old house, has strange dimensions, wonky flooring, and less-than-square walls–none of which seemed to faze Margaux. Instead, she approached it like a challenge that we were a team to figure out.
>
> We also had a great experience with follow-up support. We weren’t able to inspect all of our cabinets during the 7-day delivery window because of COVID and major space issues in the house, and iCabinetry Direct really showed up for us. When we discovered a hardware discrepancy well-past the normal timeline, Kathleen on their support team was able to extend the standard window to send replacements. Even our contractor was blown away by this level of support.

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Hi Keith! Thank you so much for the kind words. Your kitchen looks amazing!

**★ — Jered Walberg, March 2021**

> Unfortunately we did not have the 5 star experience iCabinetry was rated. We ordered custom cabinets for our shallow bathroom with Jack and Jill doors. We told them we had exactly 19 inches of depth available to work with. When the cabinets arrived they were a finished 20 inches. Rude customer service told us that was what we ordered after we asked how the situation could be remedied. We are clearly not professional cabinet designers - how were we to know that the cabinet depth does not include doors? This should have been communicated clearly, or the professionals should have considered our initial email stating we had 19 inches of depth to work with, and calculated that with the doors, the cabinets should be 18 inches. So now, we are stuck with cabinets that are too deep (our doors couldn't open if we installed them). We have had several contractors come look at the cabinets and most seem to think that would be a terrible idea to shave off any parts of the backing as it would ruin the integrity of the cabinets. We were told we could have $300 from iCabinetry to fix it (I can only assume they knew that would be a fraction of the cost to fix them - they are the professionals, after all). One contractor told us he charged 56$ per hour and it would take 8 hours ($448), but when the quote came in it was for the work of 2 people at 56$ for 8 hours (aka, double). We feel cheated and scammed by this company, and they could not make us say we were satisfied with $448 more quickly. After new information, $448 is not nearly enough to fix their screw-up, and would leave us with ill constructed cabinets. To sum up, this company doesn't care much about their customers' satisfaction, and would pretty much try anything to avoid taking blame from something that was obviously their fault. Also, it is nearing April and we began our communications with them last October.

> Kieth is always great to work with. The cabinets are nice quality and everything went together well. Everything showed up per plan. We had slight damage on a floating shelf and a new one was shipped immediately.

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Thank you so much for the review. It was great working with you and we look forward to more collaboration!

**★★★★★ — CSJ Services, Inc., Dec. 2020**

> We have used iCabinetrydirect for at least 6 projects over the last couple of years. They have assisted with design, drawings, and provided cabinets perfect for each of our situations. They are easy to work with and helpful. We have 3 more projects scheduled for 2021 and anticipate ordering cabinets with them for each of these projects as well.

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Thank you so much for the review. We look forward to collaborating on future projects!

**★★★★★ — Jim Dewey, Sept. 2020**

> Working with iCabinetrydirect.com has been a very pleasant experience. We purchased all of our kitchen cabinets for our kitchen remodel from them. We worked with Keith on the layout and cabinet specifications. He provided a floor plan and elevations, and a 3D panoramic view of our new kitchen. We purchased Starmark cabinets, which were very good quality! We placed our order during the beginning of the COVID pandemic, and there were some delays from Starmark due to impacts to their manufacturing, but Keith at iCabinetrydirect.com kept us informed to delivery changes and stayed on top of the order.
>
> All of the cabinets and trimming arrive well packaged and in excellent condition. I installed the cabinets myself, and everything went well. I ordered some extra trim accessories and worked with Keith on those details. All together, it was a painless process, and the service and quality were excellent. Do expect additional lead time until this pandemic is over.

> We love our cabinets. Our designer, Sosanna, and the rest of the team at iCabinetry went above and beyond for us! They were patient, knowledgable and professional in every way. They had great ideas on what would work best in our limited space and helped us find cabinets that are perfect for us. We will be using them from now on!!!!

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Thank you so much for the kind words. We are so happy that we were able to help!

**★★★★★ — Mary Goodchild, April 2020**

> We can't say enough of what iCabinetry has done for our Kitchen and our family! We completely trusted them for the layout and design and it was amazing!! They took an out dated design and made it what we wanted a modern and a clean look. Thank you so much for help making my dream kitchen in my house!

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Thank you MaryKe we are so happy you love your new kitchen, and it was a pleasure working with you!

> Will last a lifetime. Such great customer service. Would definitely recommend this company to everyone. Very reasonably priced.

**★★★★★ — Casey Cowgill, Oct. 2018**

> Our experience with iCabinetry was excellent. They were very accommodating when working with us in our design options for our new kitchen, and very responsive throughout the entire process until our project was complete. The end result was even better than we could have imagined!

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Thank you Casey, we know how tricky the process can be and we are so grateful that we were able to accommodate you. You are always a pleasure to work with and thank you for the referrals.

**★★★★★ — Jessica Kasper, Oct. 2018**

> I purchased cabinets from iCabinetry Direct for a home I am remodeling in Santa Barbara. Keith Ingle was great to work with. He was very patient and accommodating with the numerous changes and revisions that I made to the kitchen's layout, and he helped me come up with a design that maximized the cabinet space in the house's small kitchen.
>
> The cabinets themselves are well priced and of very good quality. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely work with Keith and iCabinetryDirect again.

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Jessica, thank you so much for the review! We are happy to have been able to help and look forward to working with you again!

**★★★★★ — Patrick Pavlisin, Sept. 2018**

> My wife and I found iCabinetry Direct 8 years ago while looking for some quality cabinets to replace the existing ones in the kitchen in our first house (which were still original 1970's cabinets and countertops) We quickly found out how great this company is to work with, as Keith reached out to us and guided us through the process making it very easy.
>
> Once we decided on the color and style we sent him a layout of our existing kitchen and he quickly turned around some great ideas on how to better utilize the same space. These cabinets have not disappointed and we have received so many compliments and have happily encouraged everyone who has asked (some who didn't) that iCabinetry Direct is the best.
>
> Recently we had the opportunity to purchase a new home, and we are so excited to be working with Keith again on a new project. We know this one will be just as great if not better than the last experience.
>
> Thank you iCabinetry!!!

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Thank you Patrick we always enjoy working with you and greatly appreciate you referring friends and family to us!

**★★★★★ — Lawrence Jackson, Aug. 2018**

> Unbeknownst to us we had some long term water damage to our lower kitchen cabinets. The kitchen was remodeled 7 years ago so we went back to our original kitchen designer who quoted us an amount too high to accept with our budget even with insurance. Enter iCabinetryDirect.com. Working with Keith was great because he was extremely knowledgeable about the cabinets and so easy to work with. His price was half the cost of our original Kitchen Design company. Same exact order just half the cost. If you have your kitchen designed and know the pieces needed to make it happen- give Keith a call. He has the access to the same cabinets your typical kitchen design firms have minus the mark up.

**Comment from iCabinetrydirect.com:**

> Thank you Lawrence, we love being able to save our customers money and still deliver the same wonderful product. We also want to thank you for the beautiful photo people compliment on it all the time.

## Community Q&A

**Q: 9ft kitchen ceilings, where do we take the cabinets to?** *(in Remodeling)*

What is the current trend with cabinet heights? All the way to the ceiling or stopping a foot short?

A: Really you could do either! However taking the cabinets all the way to the ceiling adds so much visual interest and more storage (though you may need a step stool to get to the top)

**Q: Feedback on our two kitchen designs please** *(in Kitchens)*

We bought a second home in a beach community 3 months ago and are busy planning a remodel. We are moving the current kitchen to allow for a great room concept. My husband and I are empty nesters who enjoy entertaining smaller groups (i.e. 2 or 3 couples). While I was on a few of the old gardenweb forums years and years ago, I'm new to the Houzz forums and thank those in advance who are up for commenting.

I've read through all the "read these first" threads. The information about spacing and zones was particularly helpful. Our architect initially came up with a design we didn't care for. The latest plan from him has a design we're not using but it does have all the measurements. The ceilings will be 8' high. I've attached a shot of the space but please ignore that particular design. Also attached are two designs and I'd love feedback on any aspect. The main differences are the double wall oven (2 ovens are a must) vs. a 48" wide dual fuel oven/range combo.

Specifically, I'm focused on the placement of appliances, etc. I'm really struggling over the wall double oven vs the lower 2 ovens with the range on top. My 6'4" husband, the primary cook, says he's very happy with the two lower ovens; I wonder if they'll become tough as we get older. I do love the idea of an appliance garage (featured on one of the two designs) but wonder if I'll be able to find an attractive, modern door that rolls up (or if there's an alternative that will work). I find corners challenging if you're space challenged and want to figure out a way to really use that space efficiently.

I've worked on the design of the island and believe the island depicted in the design with the wall ovens is the final design. Finally, I'll be looking at the spacing of the island and the length. 4'6" may be too far from the perimeter. Chairs around the island will always be on the far side (towards the living room) and will only be moved when someone will actually be sitting there.

OPTION 1: 48" double oven with range on top

Option 2: double wall oven with appliance garage in corner

A: I love that you were wanting to include the wine fridge for your husband. So thoughtful! As far as the appliance garage, there are tip-up door options (Maybe not that tall), and also pocket door options that could work.

**Q: Kitchen Layout - HELP** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My contractor came up with the following two kitchen lay out options. Neither of which I am in love with. The door shown in the plans on the right is the door to the garage. The area at the bottom of the plans (not really shown) is a dining area which is already a little cramped. One alternative I was thinking instead would be to do Option 2 but do a range instead of the cooktop and just have storage instead of the double oven right by the door. I'm not sure if having an oven so close to a corner makes sense though. For context, this is a midcentury home and I'm hoping to keep it within the current style. Suggestions welcome!

Option 1:

Option 2:

A: It takes a lot of creativity to design a non-traditional layout so kudos to you. I would definitely choose a range rather than the cooktop. As someone else mentioned, the ovens in the corner could result in a bad accident but even best case scenario I think you'd find it a hassle to use. Then you also have a bit more counter space. Other than the ovens in the corner, I think option 2 is the better layout. If you're not really interested in the extra seating, it may be a good idea to get rid of the seating and push the peninsula cabinets back to make a little more space next to the cooktop/range

**Q: Diamond Kitchen Cabinets** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Does anyone have a good or bad experience with Diamond intrigue kitchen cabinets from Lowes? What is the real difference between the Lowes Diamond brand and Schrock? It is my understanding that they are both from the same parent-company? So what is the real difference?

A: Often times if a manufacturer offers different lines at different price points, it is because of the options for customization. The base line of cabinets may not have as many size/material/finish choices.

**Q: Need a little help here for cabinet ideas** *(in Kitchens)*

Hey y'all! Finally leaving the 80's behind. Getting rid of soffits and cabinet doors will be taller. Painting off white w/new shaker style doors.
Hang with me ;I have alot of questions!
I have the option of taking doors to top or having smaller doors on top(I will include photo ideas )
I'd like to add a little interest with maybe some glass front doors? I like the pic of corner door w/glass.
Will smaller doors above look too busy?
Should I keep a shelf at end of cabinets(as I have now)or just continue w/doors?
We'll be replacing existing range hood with decorative one to match cabinets.
I need ideas for over-sink area.
Should I replace pendants over peninsula with a single fixture?
I like oil rubbed bronze hardware but does brushed nickle look best w/stainless appliances?
I did my best to take a panoramic view of kitchen.
Any ideas appreciated. Please no negativity.

A: Window treatments depend on your personal preference, but yes I meant to go without the trim around the window. I think it would let more light in. Something like this...

**Q: Kitchen cabinet colors with 2 different quartz countertops** *(in Home Decorating)*

How to go about choosing a color when there are 2 different countertop colors? The dark brown quartz (Belenco Mocato Brown) countertops have white cabinets and the white quartz (Sarstone) countertops have brown cabinets. I would like to paint the cabinets. Not white or grey. I also STRONGLY dislike the backsplash. I can not afford to remove it so I will have to live with it or go with a peel and stick solution. I also want to change the pendant lights. Initially, I was only going to paint the dark cabinets and leave the white cabinets as is but I changed my mind.

The kitchen is open to the dining room, which is open to the living room. I also have to choose a wall color. I want the space to be bright and colorful but I can tend to over-do it and would like some ideas.

A: Are the cabinets wood? If so, refinishing them to a natural wood could look really beautiful with both color counters, and it would give you the freedom to play with color with the walls/decor.
