**Q: Does the large island block vision from door way** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am designing an island , seating for 6 
The open doorway from dining room is 48 inches and the island sticks out into the visual area from the door by 29 inches
However island sits 53 inches away from doorway 
The island is if front of you as you walk into the kitchen but there is 49 inch width area to walk to the left of the island 
I have been told that this interferes with the visual flow and that the island should sit inside the doorway so that you cannot see it from the dining room as you look into the kitchen area 
I have a problem if this is true because I need seating for 6 
so I need this size of and island .. 12 inch overhang

A: Thanks for your question, here it is on the other side so you can see the doorway view. It doesn’t impede too much.  And in your case. The extra seating sounds important,
