They did not disappoint and we are very happy with the house. In fact, we were never frustrated or disappointed at any point in the process. Michael and Jeff spent a lot of time meeting with us at the very beginning of the design stage so they would understand how we lived and our vision for the house. They invested a lot of time with us initially but it was such a valuable stage because we would not be present for most of the build phase (we were out of state and even out of the country during most of the construction). We built up trust that they would build the house in our absence as we had envisioned. Communication was excellent. Aurora kept us updated continually via photos, email, text and buildertrend.com. All their staff and contractors were great; they cared about their work and were determined to deliver quality craftsmanship. Whenever there was a decision or issue, we worked as a team and relied on Aurora's expertise and experience for guiding us to a solution. Our move in date was slightly delayed due to hurricane disruptions but Aurora worked to get us into the house by Christmas at our request. The only "blip" was that the house was not quite 100% complete when we moved in (due to our rushed Christmas deadline) so we have had more contractors finishing up since moving in than is normal. However, the contractors have accommodated our schedules and our site manager has done a wonderful job staying on top of it all. Aurora withheld critical information regarding the construction defects of our home, encouraged us to pay them in full and to move in as everything was ok. Not only did Aurora breach our trust as our builder on a 3 year project, they continue to cause us substantial financial losses due to ongoing repairs.
