> I’m not a fan of working with contractors because they often times remind me of used car dealers, the real price is a mystery and they have a 100 excuses for any issue but working with Stephen I definitely did not get that feeling or that treatment. We got multiple quotes for a 5 figure deck job and Stephen came in around the middle of the pack. I know we could have gone cheaper but you get what you pay for and I have no regrets choosing to use him versus the cheaper options. I got a great deck, no BS, and a fair deal. I’ll be using him going forward.

> In a nutshell: We hired Green Igloo to do renovation on our 1970s home. Stephen seemed almost incapable of providing any project management (such as planning anything in advance; supervising subs; or giving us advance notice of when he would need a draw or decisions/selections from us), which to me is one of the primary roles of a GC. He’s bad at communicating, even at responding to direct questions in some cases. He did all he could to avoid dealing with problems with subs and even tried to put the burden on us to monitor their working hours (my husband and I both work from home). Much of the work he did himself was just sloppily done and some had to be corrected. Now, 2 years later, we continue to find things he did wrong that we have to pay someone to correct.
> I know all renovations go over budget in places, but he went over budget on every single piece of our project he completed for us before we fired him. To be clear, we had multiple conversations with Stephen about our concerns, the problems that occurred, and how he would address them. Each time, he basically said he’d do a better job going forward. But it never happened.
> Given the many very positive reviews we've seen, we have to wonder if Stephen had something going on in his life that affected his work for us, because our experience was nothing like the majority of reviews (but dead-on with the 1-star and F reviews). And honestly, my husband and I are pretty flexible people!

> This saddens me.  I left this project with a handshake when it was about 1/3 complete.  Gretchen and Dominic asked if another local contractor ( cost advantage) could finish the job...I respectfully packed up and turned it over to the new guy! It is worthy to not that there was only a sketch and this job had an abundance of  "changes on the fly" which devastates momentum.  I did not expect this negative review..'tis the year where kindness is a scarce commodity.  Regardless, I wish them the best.

> We hired Green Igloo to paint and repair our two story house.  Along the way, repairing a few rotten boards turned into replacing the siding on the entire wall for aesthetics.  They also replaced some rotten wood on an outside cabinet that was damaged from rain and an ineffective roof repair.  Green Igloo worked with the roofing company and got us taken care of.  Furthermore, the paint job is beautiful! The house looks like brand new! Green Igloo hires dependable, experienced men and women to do the job.  They are both professional and kind. > We needed inside trim and outside wood working repairs to be done around our front door and windows and some painting, Green Igloo was recommended to us by a friend. I called Stephen and he was so prompt in meeting with us at the house and the repairs started within a week. They did an absolutely wonderful job with the wood working repairs and it was not an easy job, his guys were very prompt and professional. His painter in addition did an excellent job.
