> Stay away from Madison Cabinets! Although people may have had success with the previous owner, the new owner and his staff do not know anything about managing projects and following up with customers. We put a $6k deposit down on a project in January of 2016 and have yet to even receive a final drawing. We have called several times to discuss the status of our project and their "we will get back to you" never happens. When I talked to their new project manager two days ago, she was rude and condescending. I have sent an email to the owner asking for my money back with no response. How can a company like this stay in business?

> Nathan Sloas the owner at the time of Madison Cabinets now Gene Brumbaugh has taken over according to Nathan SLoas as of 09/01/2015, picked up a check for my business project of building an E-Cig rack and has yet to refund me my money. Not only that but they refuse to fix my hard floors from being damaged by them by moving my refrigerator across my hardwood floor. It took them 3 months to beg them to install the hardwood floors and driving 45 minutes to an hour out of my way on several occasions. We owed them an amount in which Me and my wife agreed to pay Nathan/Madison Cabinets for the unexpected bill of extra cabinet work they did on our kitchen if he repaired our floors. They ordered the hardwood from Houston, TX and due to the fact that it sat in there warehouse for for 3 months with out being checked upon arrival in the incorrect finish, the company in Houston is unable to exchange the hardwood. They initially built us our kitchen cabinets which took over 6 months of begging for them to complete. Then we had unexpected charges from this company upon completion of installation at which we came to an agreement that we would pay if they repaired the damaged to our hardwood floors which they caused by moving our refrigerator. Eriver, Madison Cabinets installer and his newly hired employee insisted that they move my refrigerator so that they could start the installation. I had warned them that if they do move the refrigerator, i am clearly not responsible because we had an issue with the newly installed hardwood being replaced in a certain area due to the installers previously scratching the floor for the same exact reasons( moving the refrigerator along the hardwood). Eriver reassured me that he owned a construction or had previous knowledge in the construction field and installation of hardwood but even then did he insist that a piece of cardboard would be sufficient enough to create a safety barrier between the wheels of the refrigerator and the hard floors from being damaged or scratched. After this agreement I decided to give them more of my business from my Business on south Lamar. We discussed building an E-Cig rack for my shop to hold E-Juice Bottles. We had come to an agreement that we would go ahead and give them the work. I mailed them a check in the amount of $2000.00 as a deposit to start my project around 1/27/2015. I got a messages from the cabinet designer Jaimes on Feb. 13th 20115 that he will be working on the cabinet and that it would be complete the following Monday as far as the CAD drawing goes. on the 17th they sent me the first CAD drawing. We were still in the preliminary stages of design and approval and then there was a big void in designing on there end for about 5-6 months. I drove up there because I was not getting any returned call's or emails from anyone about what the situation is. Gene had told me that the designer Jaimes had been let go/fired for slacking and backing the companies work up. Gene/ Nathan were very apologetic at the time and told me that they would get everything taken care of right away. So they worked on getting the project complete for us and even brought a mock up to our store for our approval. We had a design issue upon there arrival of the mock up and we had not heard from them since. As far as the flooring goes We were contacted around 8/20 by Natahan to get in touch with Eriver about the installation of the hardwood floors as he was trying to get a hold of us to lock in the install date. They brought the boxes of new hardwood to be replaces shortly after maybe a week or so. The wood was the wrong stain not because it was anyone's fault but the companies for drop shipping the wrong stain of wood. However as mentioned above it took the Employees at madison cabinets many months to check the condition and color of wood before the company could even return the wood for the correct color. Madison cabinets is unprofessional in many ways an i hope we get our money back. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS UNLESS YOU PLAN ON WAITING FOR A LONG TIME BY UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE! We are in the process of suing them!

> Madison cabinets told us 8-10 week time from fifty percent payment to installation date. After making payment (the check was cashed the very next day June 15) we where told that they would schedule a person to come out and measure. Since we where going to make framing changes to our kitchen they told us they would not measure until it was ready to go to there shop so we would not have to have kitchen tore out for any longer than necessary. When we where called six weeks later we removed old cabinets framed in new pantry and they showed up to measure. it has been six weeks since that day and we still do not have cabinets. We have been told that they are going to be started, that they are started, and that they will be installed several times. Today my wife was that they haven't even started the cabinets yet. This is week 14 since they cashed they fifty percent deposit check of $5,300.00. I went to there shop wanting a refund and of course there contract says no refunds at all I was promised that the cabinets would be installed in two weeks. Seems like I heard that before. DO NOT PAY ANY PART IP FRONT YOU WILL GET THE RUN AROUND FROM ALL FOUR PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE BLAMING THE OTHER PERSON. Go to Home Improvement store and order some nice kitchen cabinets from them. I would rate Madison no show lying run around cabinets a zero star but this site makes you give them one.

> We love our new living room builtins! When we purchased our home, we had two very tall empty niches next to the fireplace that were in dire need of cabinetry. I wanted to choose a local company without compromising quality, so after some research, I stopped by the Madison Cabinet workshop. Gene, the cabinetry builder, was very kind to take the time to show me options in his shop including projects he was working on. He is a true artist and after seeing his work, I knew I needed to go with Madison Cabinets. Big thanks to the team at Madison Cabinets in Leander, Texas! I will definitely use them again for future projects.

> Gutted and renovated entire kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Madison custom designed cabinets for all 3 rooms, including the custom color. No other cabinet shop could match the color we desired. I recommend Madison Cabinets to anybody that needs new cabinets. They do phenomenal work and they're staff is extremely professional!!

> They did the cabinets in my kitchen & bath. They did a great job & I was very happy the whole process.

> We had built in cabinets made for either side of out fireplace and added doors to open shelves in our dining room. We needed the cabinets to match our existing kitchen cabinets. They look like they were always there, we love the look, functionality and quality.

> Working with Madison Cabinets to build a complete new set of kitchen cabinets was a great experience. The initial meeting with the owner of the company gave us many ideas. As the process of finalizing the details of the design continued, it was very helpful to receive an actual bid for the cost of the work, and seeing how each change impacted the cost; rather that simply being given a ballpark estimate for the entire job. We chose natural knotty walnut, no stain or oil. We really wanted the warmth and beauty of wood, and set it off with light colored countertops and tile flooring. The installation process was careful and very professional. They paid close attention to details, and made sure that every aspect of the job was satisfactory. They really wanted the job to be as perfect as it could be. And they had a cheerful attitude while doing it! And I have a gorgeous kitchen now, in large part due to Madison Cabinets.

> Nathan was great in offering up multiple options to ensure we stayed on budget and hit our timeline. This was very welcomed given we don't have a huge job. Pricing was also very reasonable. Job is 2 lower cabinets and then an upper bank with refrigerator panel.

> Nathan, Joshua, Gene, Eriver, did a FANTASTIC job turning my vision into a real life room! Of the six houses I've lived in (two of which I built), Madison Custom Cabinets are far and away the best quality and design. I was able to work with their team prior and during the project to make sure that my ideas, the look I wanted, and functionality were all meshed. The whole room is a lovely place that the family enjoys spending time and in which I am thrilled to cook!

**Comment from Madison Custom Cabinets:**

> It was our pleasure to build this for you. Everyone on the Madison Team really like what they do and it shows is our finished product.

> My wife and I saw a sample cabinet at the Austin Home and Garden show. We asked Madison Cabinets to come to our home and give a quote to design and furnish a complete remodeling of our kitchen cabinets. There work was very professional and their designer and production manager kept us informed on the progress of our project. The installers were excellent over the 3 day install. The complete installation was very clean every step on the way. We would HIGHLY recommend Madison Cabinets for any remodeling project. Tom and Suzanne Feay

**Comment from Madison Custom Cabinets:**

> This was a fun project. They where great to work with. Check out their kitchen in our gallery. Feay Cedar kitchen.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Cabinets** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color are the cabinets. Thanx!

A: The color is Alabaster by Sherwin Williams

**Q: Can you put me in contact with the general contractor?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the kitchen. I live in the Austin area and would love to talk to the contractor who did this work.

A: Madison Custom Cabinets 512 246 6300

**Q: Over the range hood** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi, what brand of hood is that? Where did you buy it? Your kitchen looks beautiful. Thanks!

A: Thank you for your inquiry. We are a custom cabinet maker and only provided the cabinets for this customer. They provided the hood so unfortunately, we don't know the brand of hood.

**Q: Gloe** *(in Photo Questions)*

How wide is this kitchen with the island in

A: Thank you for your inquiry Gloe. It is roughly 9 1/2 feet wide.

**Q: Latches** *(in Photo Questions)*

Are these full overlay cabinets? On frameless cabinets? They don't look like inset? What kind of latches are these?

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The customer supplied the latches so I am not sure about that but the cabinet is a frameless cabinet with a trim piece to allow the latches to function.

**Q: Keeping red cedar natural color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Material used to keep the red cedar color for the interior of home?

A: We used a Vinyl sealer and catalyzed lacquer top coat from Sherwin Williams. We do not do outdoor cabinetry so I would not know what works best for outdoor use. Also the red will turn darker and more orange as it ages. No stopping that. Hope that helps.
