> Deborah Lempert is everything you could want in a designer. She has good taste, she's reliable, she's honest, and she's works with we'll-qualified sub-contractors. Plus, she knows how to listen.
> I came this project, a master bathroom gut-rehab, with definite ideas for materials and re-configuring the space. Debbie listened, discussed, and tactfully offered her own suggestions and corrections. Together, we made a successful team.
> Someone in my building recommended Deborah. I had lost time meeting with other designers who were not impressive so I had only one in-person meeting with Debbie before I left New York for my winter home. Then Covid struck. The project was delayed and then done while I was stranded in another state. We accomplished a very successful project communicating with phone calls, emails and text messages !
> I highly recommend Deborah Lempert Interiors.

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

> Thank you so much Sandy. Yes, it was a challenging year, but we got through it and you have a stunning new master bath to enjoy. I’m so glad it all worked out in the end. Please keep in touch!

> Debbie interpreted our vision in a creative and exciting way that went beyond what I could have imagined. We are really enjoying the elegant, functional and comfortable great room she has completed at our beach home. Debbie listened closely and addressed the details of the room openly and professionally. Her customer service and communication are top notch. She’s a pleasure to work with and she’ll deliver what she promises.

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

> Thank you so much Beth! I so glad you love your new space. Its such a great space for entertaining and hopefully this summer you will be doing lots of that! Enjoy!

> Working with Debbie has been an excellent experience! Her help and eye for color choices and overall decor for our new office space was spot on. She is always available and responsive. She listens to our needs and is very astute to the commercial space. Debbie remained conscious of our budget at all times and never sacrificed a look to do so. I would highly recommend her for any decorating needs in any type of space. Thanks Debbie!

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

> Debbie is amazing. We purchased a home in CO and with drawings in hand and photos Debbie worked with us to create the most amazing space. It is so warm and comfortable and stunning. Every room radiates warmth and comfort. We can’t believe how perfectly everything fits and works in the space without ever having been in the space. Could not be happier and everyone who sees it says you guys have great taste.
> Thank you Debbie for taking our new house and making it the perfect home.

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

> We would highly recommend her!!!

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

**★★★★★ — Leslie Siegel, Feb. 2020**

> Working with a Debbie has been outstanding. Her vision and her ability to design and bring ideas to reality are phenomenal. She did our entire apartment, including our kitchen - She brought us options at different price points to make sure we were comfortable with the cost. She handled all the contracted work. She designed a custom piece separating our bedroom and sitting area with double TV’s that can be watched on each side. She also re-finished a wall unit in the living room that I originally thought we may have to take down, in the most creative way, and it is absolutely gorgeous! We’re in the apartment 1 week and I am still so grateful to her. I would highly recommend her to anyone - there is no project that she can’t handle

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

> Thank you so much Leslie! I am so happy that you love your new apartment. I had the best time working together. I am so glad that we could save the wall unit, instead of ripping it out and starting from scratch. Wishing you both many happy years together in your new home!

**★★★★★ — Carol P, Nov. 2019**

> Working with Deborah was not only delightful but just outstanding. I have never worked with anyone in any business that returns call and emails so quickly, has a laser focus to understand exactly what needed to be done and is just so pleasant and professional. The spaces turned out fantastic - colors, styles - everything she offered worked out perfectly. She is right on it!
> HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

> Thank you so much Carol! It was a fun project. I am so glad it all came together so nicely and is getting so much use. You were a pleasure to work with too!

> As a real estate professional it is important for me to be able to recommend a designer whom I trust and one whose work that I admire. Debbie possesses both of those qualities. I have worked personally with Debbie on my own home and have recommended her to other. She’s reliable, open-minded, decisive, proactive and takes immense pride in her work. No job is too big or too small. Deb shows up with a smile on her face and a level of enthusiasm which is contagious. I would unconditionally recommend Debbie time and time again.

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

**★★★★★ — Marlene Leichter, May 2018**

> I hired this very professional & creative person to “pick up the pieces”of a large project that had numerous near-disasters. In spite of missing out on the bulk of the commissions, Deborah gave her full care & devotion to seeing that the job was completed to my satisfaction & way beyond. No detail was too insignificant to be addressed. She coordinated other designers’ work, objects from my previous homes, & sentimental keepsakes with the most up-to-date trends & succeeded in creating a truly beautiful & functional home, & within a reasonable budget.

**Comment from Deborah Lempert Interiors:**

> Thanks so much for you review. I am so glad I was able to pull together and complete the job to your satisfaction. I was fun working together and I wish you many happy and healthy years in your beautiful new apartment.

We added some life with a touch of blue to a very neutral palette, and an amazing side table in gold leaf. The coffee table is a favorite of mine, although hard to tell from pictures it is finished in a faux ray fabric and coated for a durable finish. The card table is wrapped in a grass cloth and is also coated for a durable finish.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Boring beige brick exterior. HELP!** *(in Landscape Design)*

I want to paint boring beige brick (in perfect condition) to a rich creamy white. What do you think? Here is the house and a few inspiration pics. A few tidbits....we are young and active so not afraid of maintenance. Also, house sits on a five acres and just looks blah out in a field.

A: Painting brick is a maintenance headache. I agree that a great landscape plan is the way to go.

**Q: COUPLES Question, Where do you watch TV most, living room or bedroom?** *(in Home Entertainment)*

It's just the 2 of us, we're older and we're realizing that more and more, we're ending up watching movies or binge worthy TV (Poldark, The Crown, etc.) at night in the bedroom.
Is it just us?
We do have an adjustable bed with massage features and although the couch is fine, we're finding if we want to "watch a movie" it's in bed, but if it's something like a football game or Jeopardy, we're in the living room.
It's to the point where "the good TV" has been moved in the bedroom. Absolutely would be different if we had kids/large family.
Are we the only ones noticing this change in behavior?
Where do you and your significant other watch TV the most?

A: Im exhausted at the end of the day. Once dinner is cleanup up, we go to the bedroom! Couldn't live without a TV in my bedroom!

**Q: Long blank wall help!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Our house is very open concept, and the living room and dinning room share one very long wall (with an unfortunate air conditioner in the dinning room). I'm looking to put something up on the wall to make it less bare. My initial thought is something above the couch, but I am not sure how to deal with the rest of the wall.
Because of the air conditioner I don't feel like we need anything in the dinning room and there is NO room for a buffet or any type of furniture along the wall behind the chairs.

Then there is an empty space about (about 7 feet distance between our dinning space and our living room space) and I have no idea how to treat that space or what to do on the wall. I considered a fireplace in that area, but I am not sure if it would be weird to have a fireplace in an empty area with no furniture around it.

Here are two pictures of the space.

We move our couches around often during the holidays and for hosting parties/poker nights depending on what we need so I do not need suggestions on moving our couches. Our dinning room table is made of marble and centered under the light fixture and cannot be moved. We love our chairs and will not be buying new ones. We are not repainting or redoing the floor or trim. The air conditioner cannot be removed. The small blue box on the floor next to the couch holds our modem and router and unfortunately cannot be moved anywhere else without rewiring the room which we don't want to do.

I'm open to suggestions for artwork and placement, and how to treat the empty space between to two areas please!

Thank you in advance!

A: I have a few thought... first, you could use a console behind sofa with a lamp. That will give some height to the center of the room and a great exfra surface when entertaining and if you need storage, get one with a cabinet or drawers. Or, you can use a side table and hide that blue box and put a lamp on top to add height. Then, use that great big wall and do a “gallery” wall with photos or artwork. There are tons of gallery wall pics all over the internet. Good luck!

**Q: Need advice for large landing area** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hi there! I am looking for some design advice for this large landing/foyer area on our second floor. It is surrounded by three bedroom as well as stairs coming up to the area (from the first floor) and then another set of stairs going up to the third floor (which is where the picture is taken from).

We have more of a contemporary look in our home. My initial thoughts: Bench on wall to the left (shorter wall), larger table on wall to the right, some sort of faux hide rug (BIG) in the landing area, art work on the big wall and perhaps a family collage with matching picture frames of the same size on the left wall above the bench. I think a tree in back right corner might look nice as well.

HELP!! We have a party on Dec. 2nd at our home and I want to try to get something put together prior to that date. haha

A: I love the bench idea! I would do the pic collage above the console table and a mirror above bench on opposite wall.

**Q: What to put above the bed.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I live in a Florida condo on a golf course. I would like to put something modern and simple above the bed. I have the navy paisley bedding and can’t find a suitable replacement for this dated piece of art. Should I have 3 pics? I may cop out and put up a rectangular mirror but it will only reflect the opposite wall when you come in. Any suggestions please?

A: I would take the picture down and put a mirror on wall behind each lamp, nothing directly over the bed.

**Q: Exposed brick wall/fireplace mismatch. What to cover fireplace with?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I love our exposed brick wall and we added the barnwood mantel but something is off with the brick on the fireplacing not being the same color brick as the wall. Any ideas on what we should do with it? Paint it? cover it in stone? Would love some ideas. The black fireplace stove is staying. Does anyone think a black stone or a slate covering the brick on the fireplace would look good?

A: It looks like the brick is the same but the mortar between the brick is darker on the wall than it is on the fireplace. I love the brick and would hate for you to paint it, once you do that you can never really go back. Maybe a mason could go over the mortar in a darker cement to make it match the wall.
