He was the contractor for major renovations to our waterfront home. We hired him because we could tell that he was a "hands-on" contractor. At the initial interview, he took down a wall, with our permission, (for no charge) that we knew we wanted removed to see the effect on the living room. After we hired him, Jeff oversaw new ceilings, floors, lighting, complete kitchen and bathroom Renos on both floors of the home. He coordinated the plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, painting and tiling and used his own team for the rest of the job. He brought in an excellent interior designer to help coordinate the overall style of the home prior to the final decisions. Jeff's strength is communication with the customer and other contractors. He constantly checks back and forth regarding big and small details with construction materials and design. He has a particularly good eye for design, lines and color which adds to the overall excellent result. Another strength is his perseverance when he runs into difficulty. He discovered that we needed to support our upstairs floors to make them more level. He came up with some options and engineered a very difficult solution...putting in a 43 foot steel I-beam using 8 men to carry it down a hill and bringing it in the house by removing a window. The solution was aesthetic, preventing having to put a post in the middle of the basement family room, and makes us feel secure that our floors are solid. > Jeff tried to stay on budget and the overall project cost roughly what he originally projected.
