> Had a great experience with Paintzen. I was looking to have a conference room in my office. I quickly got a quote that was far less than competitors and was able to easily book a time that worked best for me. On the day of the service, the painters were actually EARLY (!!) and super efficient. They were great, worked efficiently and did a wonderful job. Would definitely recommend Paintzen for any kind of paint job.

> Had Paintzen do a complete paint job of our brand new apartment, including painting our ugly wood cabinets a cute, modern blue AND wall papering two walls. Everything was impeccable from start to finish. Exceptional communication throughout, I loved the ease of online booking / communications (so convenient for a working person), the painters were on-time and polite (and they finished a day early!), and the paint job is wonderful. It's now been 6 months and I don't regret using Paintzen one bit. Highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — The New Design Project, March 2019**

> I hired Paintzen several times on various type of projects (painting or wallpaper). Last time was to install fabric wallpaper (suede wallpaper that had been paper backed to be treated as wallpaper). The installation also required to cut patterns out of 2 different type of suede papers whilst making sure each cut coincides perfectly with seamless connections. Paintzen had sent me a custom quote and arranged COI prior to job. I could book the job literally 24h before. Max was on time, covered/moved items around and did a superb job in a very quick manner. For less custom jobs their website is so easy to use to get an instant quote and book job. They are not the cheapest but they are super professional and work fast.

**★★★★★ — Victoria Gresia, March 2019**

> Juan did an amazing job painting our wall! He was on time, very polite, and very efficient. The paint job came out perfectly, not to mention the prices were extremely reasonable! I'm so happy with the way my living room came out and would definitely recommend Paintzen, as well as hire them again in the future.

**★★★★★ — Liza Mandell, March 2019**

> Loved this service!! I did it last year and I'm moving to a new apartment and plan to use them again. It was very easy - they were on professional, on time, fast and the outcome was perfect.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Fromt door color** *(in Paint)*

I want to paint our front door but I can’t figure out what color would coordinate with the exterior. Our exterior is a beige/tan/taupe color. Our front door is a stained cherry or mahogany color and is just not my cup of tea. Any recommendations

A: Painting your front door is an easy, fun way to update your home! You have gorgeous greenery that surrounds your home. Why not paint it a soft green that will allow your entryway to blend into its natural surroundings? We recommend PPG's Edamame that will be complemented by the white trim you already have.
You can order a free swatch of this PPG color and other shades in the Green family on our website today at https://samples.paintzen.com/landing/green.

**Q: Teal island with darker perimeter cabinets? (Possibly SW Oceanside)** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Well, I started a post then I lost it, so trying again. I had to have my wood (timberona) floors replaced ~ 2 years ago. I continued with the only Timberona flooring I could find because I have the same wood upstairs. The new wood is a bit darker and does not have as much variation as my previous, resulting in my floor and cabinets matching too well! I would like to break up all the wood and paint my island. I am thinking something like teal.
Sorry, this is an older photo of my kitchen I had saved on my computer. I now have SS bar pulls, and a gray backsplash (like below). I plan to paint the kitchen/living area walls SW Functional Gray (or similar). My countertop is possibly Santa Cecilia, which is warm with a bit of golden, beige, cream, and a tiny bit of gray.
I see Oceanside was SW color of the year in 2018. I am hoping some have started using it. I read that it may work well with both cool and warm tones.
(my very woody kitchen before flooring was laid)

Backsplash like this

SW Oceanside with some warmer woods

photo of granite that looks like mine

A: I would stay away from painting your kitchen island Teal as it won't match the back splash you have. We recommend taking a look at either PPG's Colonial Aqua which is very similar to your back splash or a blue-gray like PPG's Lost at Sea which would also go well on your walls or be paired with a shade of gray. Best of luck with your project!

**Q: Paint help ASAP** *(in Paint)*

Hey all! I’m having a SUPER hard time even getting ideas what to paint the living room and entry way....the picture shown in standing in the front door and looking into the entry way.
We have not moved in yet and need some kind of ideas. I love Sherman Williams paint and loved agreeable gray but just not sure what to do. Please give me any kind of suggestions as to what colors would look best!

A: Hi, there.

I agree with the rest of the comments that you should paint the living room and entryway the same color. Having a unifying shade will help the home feel more open when you arrive through the front door. If you're open to it, I'd consider replacing the gray tiles with wood flooring to match the entryway and dining area. If not, you can certainly leave as is but it would help the rooms feel like one open space instead of segmented rooms.

For paint color, I would go with one of two options. Either painting everything in a creamy white shade that will pair well with the brown furniture and brown/gray flooring such as PPG's Delicate White. Or, you could go dark on all the walls. If you choose to go that route I would go with a deeper shade of green that will complement all of the plants you have in your home. PPG's Moss Point Green is a gorgeous green that brings the beauty of the outdoors into your home. Whichever way you go, another trick to help your home feel more open and larger is to paint the trim the same color as the walls. Best of luck with your project!
You can order free swatches of both of these PPG colors on our website today at https://samples.paintzen.com/landing/all.

**Q: Advice on exterior paint colors** *(in Paint)*

The Houzz community never lets me down. I need to paint the home exterior and I am paralyzed with indecision. Here’s a partial pic of the front. It’s mostly tan brick, which I am hoping NOT to paint the brick (on a very tight budge). So it’s just siding and trim. FYI - the “spindles” you see at the front of the gable are no longer there...the wood spindles rotted, so we just took them down.

What color(s) would look nice? We are Ok with the tan/cream, however it looks so dated - house was built ‘85. Any ideas for an updated look? As I said, the brick will not be painted. Notice the mailbox to get a better idea of brick color.

A: There are definitely ways you can update your home exterior without painting the brick. If you choose to do a two-tone, we recommend painting the siding a non-neutral color since you want to stay away from tan and go with white trim. If you choose to paint the siding and trim the same color, it will give your home an ultra-modern look that might have the curb appeal you've been wanting. You do have a lot of beautiful greenery that surrounds your home. If you'd like to take advantage of that and have your exterior blend in with its natural environment, we recommend painting your siding in PPG's Cavern Moss. If you want something that's sleek and modern, go with a warm gray like PPG's Shining Armor.
Best of luck with your home exterior repaint project. You can order free swatches of both of these PPG colors on our website today at https://samples.paintzen.com/landing/all.

**Q: Color Advice Needed** *(in Paint)*

Tried to post this earlier and my photo wouldnt show. Trying this again.
I want to update the color of my house. I am also getting a new roof put on. Im leaning towards the color called weathered wood. i do not know what to paint the house to modernize it. I have brick in different hues of red, orange, black and white on the front of the house. I have included a picture of my home. Thank you for the help.

A: What a fun project! This is the time of year to have your exterior painted. I agree with you that a warm gray or a creamy white would give your home the modern curb appeal you want. We recommend painting either the siding-only which will give your home a fresh update, or paint the brick and siding to get an ultra-modern look. For a warm gray, we recommend PPG's Shining Armor which would pair perfectly with your white doors and trim. This would be the most ideal option. You can also paint your brick and siding a creamy white like PPG's Delicate White which would give it a fresh, clean look. If you do that, however, you'd need to repaint your doors and trim either the same color or another shade like warm gray.
You can order free swatches of both of these PPG colors on our website today: https://samples.paintzen.com/landing/all

**Q: Colors for shutters and front door** *(in Paint)*

We're thinking of changing the colors of our exterior. The house next door has black shutters and door so although I like the look we want to consider different color scheme. Any suggestions?

A: Hi there!

You should whitewash the brick for a rustic look with character. From there, you can play around with color on the shutters - a dark green or blue would really pop! PPG's "Admirality" or "Nightwatch" would be my top suggestions.
