They took measurements and we talked about our budget and goals for the kitchen and two bathrooms. We went out to Chantilly to have our first appointment and Sarah had a beautiful design prepared for the kitchen and one bathroom. The bathroom colors were way off from what we discussed but she agreed to redesign it and said she would get to the guest bathroom design soon. She did not have the bathroom estimates prepared at that point and agreed to send them along with a typed up estimate for the kitchen. > > The original kitchen estimate was higher by about $28,000 than the original budget we talked with her about, and she wanted us to move a door to the garage which we didn't want to move. Once we let her know we couldn't move the door, she redesigned one side of the kitchen and followed up with us once to see if we had any feedback. We gave her some minor edits and let her know we had to figure out a way to bring the cost down to our budget - and asked again if she could provide an estimate for the bathrooms which we had not seen yet to determine the overall project cost.
