Our project was very large in scope, we gutted four bathrooms, refreshed a kitchen, did all new flooring, lighting, paint color, and furnishings. Essentially, we redid a 100 year old, three story home from top to bottom. Tara was instrumental in making our new home beautiful, elegant, functional and comfortable. She worked seamlessly with our contractor, and did all drawings, elevations and finishings. Not only does Tara have terrific taste, is highly detailed and organized, and knows how to work within a budget, she is the picture of cheerfulness and calm. She listened to our vision, needs and wish list. Our home looks and feels like "us," only elevated. Any time a monkey wrench was thrown our way (and with a four month project there is always something) Tara handled it with grace, ease and confidence. She made the experience as stress free as possible, and we knew each step of the way that we were cared for and in good hands. I can't recommend Tara Ryan Designs highly enough. Our gorgeous home has exceeded our very high expectations! **★★★★★ — Cyndy Hazelton, March 2021** > WOW, AWESOME, AMAZING! Tara made all of my dreams come true with a full re-design of paint and furnishings in my spacious Elkins Park condo. Her ideas and vision in the early planning stages came to life to represent the true professional and artist that she is. Her ideas and ability to pivot during our project during a PANDEMIC were exceptional. We even finished up with a cute update to a small patio space on my balcony. I am both happy and sad that our project is done because I just loved working with her. She understood my personality and ideas right away. I'm excited to follow all of her future projects as she is just so professional, talented and wonderful. **★★★★★ — roxytrudeau, Jan. 2021** > Tara came on to help design two projects in our recently purchased home, one was the removal of a wall and facelift in our kitchen, the other was a total gut on a small bathroom to combine it with a small bedroom and make a very large master bathroom. There was nothing easy about the limitations of our projects given the house is 120+ years old. > > Complicating the project further, I was 7 months pregnant when we started and we all were in agreement that the goal was to finish so the house was functional before the baby arrived, no pressure, right? Tara was masterful in her vision for the spaces, very collaborative, a great team player, and was fun to work with. With so many supplies back ordered due to COVID, there were many delays far outside of Tara's control. She was an excellent communicator and always had a back up plan and offered several options, helping us find solutions we were happy with for every challenge. > > Tara approaches her work with humor, helpfulness, creativity, and a unique eye for design. Our bathroom and kitchen turned out GORGEOUS, we are in love. I highly recommend working with her. **★★★★★ — caitlyn\_landskroner, Sept. 2020** > Tara Ryan is a phenomenal designer. She helped us tremendously with building our home from the selection of every finish and fixture to furniture. New construction can feel overwhelming, but Tara made is an enjoyable, collaborative experience. She is reliable, communicative, and really listened to everything on our wish list to help us build our dream home. We appreciated her input along the way and couldn’t have completed this project without her! I can’t recommend Tara enough. She is fantastic at what she does. **★★★★★ — Jackie S., Aug. 2020** > I absolutely cannot recommend Tara enough for any design project, no matter how large or small! She was both professional and fun to work with, but truly her knowledge and creativity is what shone through the most. Tara designed an entire new home and helped handle every piece of the process so we could move into an almost fully-furnished home in no time at all. Her honesty and thoughtful opinions were not only appreciated, but she truly led us to make the best possible decisions for our new home. I have recommended Tara to every friend/family member/colleague and will continue to do so, as her services are completely unmatched in the Philadelphia area! **★★★★★ — Heather Plastaras, June 2020** > Tara was wonderful to work with - flexible and accommodating! She was very clear in setting expectations and checking in with us about how we'd like to proceed with layout, design choices, etc. She had some super creative ideas, and was willing and eager to hear our input about our own ideas. Our space turned out beautifully! We highly recommend Tara Ryan Designs! **★★★★★ — Jess C, Nov. 2019** > We had a wonderful experience with Tara Ryan Designs for a major home renovation that included a new kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and 3 bathrooms. Tara took the time to understand our style and her design process saved us countless hours of our own research. She was always quick to respond and indulged our indecision on some important elements - she definitely wanted us to be sure about our final choices. We are thrilled with the results and are looking forward to working with Tara Ryan Designs again soon to redecorate our living room! **★★★★★ — HU-459103440, Nov. 2019** > Tara did a fantastic job with our master bath remodel, masterfully combining two small rooms into one spacious retreat! She provided a number of great options and worked with us to select pieces that created a sense of flow and harmony in the space. We just love everything about it! Making tile and hardware selections was a breeze, and she took care of all the details, which was so amazing since I was working the whole time. Thank you so much Tara for making our spa dreams come true! **★★★★★ — Deborah Leamann, Oct. 2019** > Tara and I have worked together professionally over the last 4 years. I reached out to her for assistance when I was involved with several large deadline projects. Tara was able to work well under pressure and delivered wonderful renderings of the design elements we were working on. > Her personal attention, fantastic taste and design talents really set her apart. I am so excited to see her in this phase of her career. She is an exceptional designer and person. **★★★★★ — Brian Venetianer, Oct. 2019** > Tara Ryan is extremely talented and a pleasure to work with. Tara was incredibly patient, kind and enthusiastic throughout my project. She spent time getting to know me and my likes and dislikes. She was methodical and planned every aspect in each room and kept my priorities at the top of her list. > Tara designed a beautiful living room and dining room combo with many interesting and unique pieces. The space is warm and inviting and just what I was looking for. I would not have been able to do this without her. > Tara was able to work within my budget and offered a number of wonderful options along the way. The pieces she recommended work well together in each room and I now have a beautiful apartment. > Tara was a pleasure to work with and a true professional. I would not hesitate to call her for future projects. **★★★★★ — Julie Godfrey, Aug. 2019** > Working with Tara has been amazing. She has been very available for us to answer any questions, give ideas and feedback, and keep us updated on developments. She is an excellent communicator and great at taking information from multiple people involved (contractors, spouses, etc) and somehow meeting \*everyone's\* needs. She gives multiple options for, say, chandeliers, and then once she has an idea of what direction to go, will give another 10-12 more to make sure you get the very best choice for your space. Without her, our space would not look "finished" or "complete" - she helped us find those little extra touches that make it special. My husband continually says how helpful and useful it was to have Tara involved from the very start! I highly recommend her to everyone I know. **★★★★★ — HU-270015486, June 2019** > Tara was an absolute joy to work with. From the initial design phase I knew that she understood my sense of style and was willing to work within my budget. The completed project was beyond my expectations and I can honestly say that I live in my dream home. Tara was particularly good at easing our way over speed bumps with vendors, and made sure we were satisfied. I hope I have the opportunity to work with her again in the near future. ## Selected projects - [Ardmore Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/ardmore-renovation-pj-vj~5942832) - Location: Ardmore, PA - Photos: 12 - [Bryn Mawr Kitchen Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bryn-mawr-kitchen-renovation-pj-vj~5942842) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 7 - [Symphony House Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/symphony-house-renovation-pj-vj~5878534) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 15 - [West Philly Master Bath Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/west-philly-master-bath-renovation-pj-vj~5942822) - Location: Philadelphia, PA - Photos: 7 - [City Retreat - Master Suite](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/city-retreat-master-suite-pj-vj~5727064) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 9 - [Fairmount Family Friendly](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/fairmount-family-friendly-pj-vj~3340301) - Location: Philadelphia, PA - Photos: 7 - [Bryn Mawr Bedroom](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bryn-mawr-bedroom-pj-vj~3340390) - Location: Bryn Mawr, PA - Photos: 2 - [Contemporary Bath Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-bath-renovation-pj-vj~5730174) - Location: Philadelphia, PA - Photos: 8 - [Northern Liberties Kitchen](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/northern-liberties-kitchen-pj-vj~5730179) - Location: Philadelphia, PA - Photos: 4 - [Traditional Bathroom and Closet Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/traditional-bathroom-and-closet-renovation-pj-vj~5730219) - Location: Bryn Mawr, PA - Photos: 9 - [Living Room Retreat](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/living-room-retreat-pj-vj~5730195) - Location: Downingtown, PA - Photos: 15 - [Lafayette Hill Luxe](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/lafayette-hill-luxe-pj-vj~3340425) - Location: Lafayette Hill, PA - Photos: 4 - [Malvern Farmhouse Renovation](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/malvern-farmhouse-renovation-pj-vj~3340361) - Location: Malvern, PA - Photos: 16 [See all 13 projects](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/interior-designers-and-decorators/tara-ryan-designs-pfvwus-pf~562865307) ## Ideabooks - [2OBL](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/77231654/list/2obl) — 15 ideas - [Wish List](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/99063495/list/wish-list) — 8 ideas - [Inspirations](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/55217739/list/inspirations) — 1 idea [See all 3 ideabooks](https://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/users/trmcgeehan) --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
