> If we could give 0 stars we would ! The complete unorganized and uneducated process of the sale should have been the only red flag we needed, but we stuck with it.......If we could only go back in time ! from possession schedule to quality of work Genesis Builders just doesn't care ! Our possession day ( which they nailed at 1 year and 2 months late ) was great, our walk through was with a salesman not a proper representative, and as my wife literally broke done in tears at the state of our house he could only stand there and offer condolence " I'm sorry this isn't the away it supposed to be " House wasn't clean from construction, not one issue from a our prepossession walk through was addressed, not one ! flooring scratched literally from basement to the third floor, no paint touch ups, layers of dust on the drywall which we discovered we were lucky to have 1 coat of paint on....wrong taps, wrong sink, cracked tiles. Just a disaster ! 9 months later and we are still dealing with issues from the prepossession walk through ! and the trades used.....I cant even put in to words, that's a topic for another review altogether . We haven't had a service call that hasn't ended in " we will get that next time " , So disappointing ! probably one our biggest mistakes !

> A terrible builder, stay clear. All my neighbors say they are the worst builder they have ever worked with, even excel homes is better. Seriously use any other builder than them otherwise you will regret it. I and many others have had so many issues, the last one being they didn't dig the deck pillars far enough down causing heaving and so my deck and concrete is slanted towards my house by 4 inches which occurred after the second winter of owning the home and they will not fix it. Even with external concrete contractors saying it is a foundation issue and the builder did not dig far enough down according to Calgarys deck code.

> Worst experience with a builder. I quickly read some of Genesis Builder's responses on other reviews ,which state they will address the homeowners concerns. I am proof that they are just words and have not improved on anything. In fact, they have gotten worse by the sounds of things. Firstly, I never received a walk through prior to my possession. I was told they were too busy. Now I understand why, my home is a disaster. I took possession and of 2019 and am now dealing with frost on my interior walls. After three attempts, they finally decided to take my basement apart drywall, floors, etc.Sure enough they found moisture and holes direct to the outdoors. The worst thing of all is the so called warranty manager told me everything was repaired even after I questioned him before replacing the drywall. I mentioned I still felt drafts and he said he knew it was fixed. I should believe him because he had been in the industry for over 10 years. I asked if he would get a thermal gun and he said he did need it. Nonetheless, I had a third party inspector attend my home, which they have not reimbursed me for and found my home not to code. They are now obligated to fix it, but there is plenty of other interior warranty work that needs to be done and I am not confident they will complete it. Please note, crazy glue from the dollar store is not a normal application for flooring.
> I was also curious as to how they hired and vetted their contractors and was not given an answer. Mr. Ps Sidu actually changed the subject. Seems they are hiding something. Buyer Beware! There are plenty of really good builders.
> Last word of advice, when they say it's normal,

**Q: Help decide LIGHTING for kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)*

(pictures are a bit darker under lights-dining room sits to the right of the kitchen-all open floorplan)
I would like to update the lighting in my kitchen/dining space. I am looking to purchase two new pendants for above the island and a light for over the dining room. We have the a rustic looking table with the Madeline side chairs in "Brown Oak Drifted" from Restoration Hardware. I am waiting to buy end chairs for the table and stools for the counter until I set a tone with the lighting.

I am thinking of the following options but am definitely open to any suggestion! Please help!! :)

**Q: granite vs. quartzite?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

is it true that quartzite is not as durable as granite?

A: Quartzite is a harder material than granite, but they are comparable in appearance and both natural materials. We opt for quartzite in most of our homes, this one was quite popular with quartzite countertops: http://www.houzz.com/projects/465915/charlesmark-canals-landing

**Q: Is the world map a wallpaper mural? Where can I find that?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This wallpaper is sold exclusively through our interior designer, but you can contact her to order some!
