> Wow~~ Christine and her team are amazing and were oh so much help with our kitchen remodel! They were the first to respond to our request and they were prompt with all their replies to my questions and design ideas AND we are 1100 miles apart! Working on a project from afar would not be an easy task. Christine sourced products for us and went that extra mile in securing samples for comparison. I will definitely be engaging them again for our next project.

> Christine and team did an amazing job helping pick critical elements of our basement renovation design. The multi-room project turned out beautifully - carpet, paint, tile, countertop, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, furniture all harmonized. I will tell everyone, do not attempt a remodel without the help of a professional designer! Invest in the end vision design of your project right up front, work with professionals. Thank you so much for coming to see our property and giving us this beautiful Snowy Peaks coffee shop/B&B/gym custom space. It is perfect!

**★★★★★ — Brittany Griffith, Aug. 2026**

> I've had the opportunity to collaborate with HouseHome on multiple landscape and outdoor living projects, and it's always been a great experience. Their team is professional, responsive, and truly committed to quality craftsmanship. Communication is excellent throughout the process, and they consistently deliver beautiful results while keeping projects organized and on schedule.
>
> As a landscape designer, I appreciate working with contractors who value thoughtful planning and attention to detail. HouseHome has been a reliable partner, and I would confidently recommend them to anyone looking for a high-quality remodeling or construction company.

**★★★★★ — Dennis Craig, July 2026**

> Margaret Waller served as our interior decorator, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. She was consistently attentive to our wants and needs, carefully listening to our ideas while thoughtfully offering her own suggestions—never in a pushy manner.
> The measurements she took and the resulting layout were a perfect fit. Our living room, dining room, and sitting room presented a genuine challenge due to their unique configuration, yet Margaret approached the spaces with careful consideration of what would and would not work. The result was a seamless, beautifully balanced design.
> The furniture she selected is of exceptional quality and distinctive character. She thoughtfully incorporated art, lighting, plants, and tables that complement our natural surroundings. Her eye for pillows, rugs, and artwork was impeccable.
> Margaret is a true professional—always accessible, responsive, and eager to help. We conducted numerous conference calls and virtual meetings throughout the project, and she remained engaged and collaborative at every stage.
> I would not hesitate to work with her again when we are ready to design the upstairs, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking an interior designer who combines creativity, professionalism, and genuine care for her clients’ vision.

**★★★★★ — Katie R, July 2026**

> Fabulous! They led the design/build of my kitchen and bathroom renovations, working closely with me, all vendors and the GC. They guided me and helped with every decision, resulting in gorgeous spaces. Responsive and communicative, adaptive to my style and tastes, fun as hell, professional and experienced. They know everyone, and even sold my old appliances, cabinets and counters. Can’t imagine what I would have done without them. Women-run/owned. Highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Charlotte A, May 2026**

> Christine and her team are friendly and professional. They assessed the floor plans for our future house in the mountains and made improvements in the flow and function of the primary bathroom and kitchen. They provided lovely suggestions for materials (flooring, tile, backsplash, cabinets, lighting) for our consideration. Since the actual build is a couple of years away, our feedback is partial - only through the planning stage.

**★★★★★ — Jennie Showers, July 2025**

> Mariah at HouseHome is so fun and easy to work with! Their process is smooth and have such great taste in design. I highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Lynn Keller, July 2025**

> Purchasing an older home and diving into a full-scale renovation was a daunting task—and trying to manage it on my own quickly became overwhelming. Thankfully, HouseHome was there every step of the way. From reviewing architectural plans to helping me select finishes and manage the project, their guidance was truly invaluable.
>
> The transformation is incredible! My house not only looks amazing—it feels like HOME. When the project hit a major snag with the departure of my general contractor, HouseHome stepped in without hesitation. The team helped connect me with reliable, skilled tradespeople and ensured the work continued seamlessly.
>
> More than anything, I appreciate how gracious and generous the entire team was with their time, creativity, and support. They consistently went above and beyond, and I’m so grateful for their care and commitment to making this vision a reality.

**Comment from HouseHome:**

> Thank you, Lynn! Mariah led the project and team beautifully, as always! And she absolutely loved working on your home with you. :)

**★★★★★ — Gurgiana B, July 2025**

> Mariah is truly amazing! We began working with her in late 2024 during the construction of our new home, and she played a key role in selecting all the finishes and designing the majority of our interior spaces. The results were stunning—every detail came together beautifully, and her furniture and decor choices complemented the finishes perfectly.
>
> Mariah is not only an incredibly talented designer but also an absolute joy to work with. She's kind, patient, and genuinely listens. She goes above and beyond to ensure you’re 100% happy with the final outcome. She also designed and styled our front porch and back patio, both of which turned out just as beautifully as the interior.
>
> She takes the time to truly understand your vision and consistently delivers results that exceed expectations. On top of that, she’s kind, highly organized, and always on top of every detail. We’re already looking forward to working with her again in the future—I can’t recommend her highly enough!

**★★★★★ — Jen L, July 2025**

> I loved working with Mariah Cope and the rest of the HouseHome team to create my new kitchen and more. Mariah’s creativity, energetic spirit, and attention to detail were key to its success. HouseHome has such an amazing eye for design and Mariah did a fantastic job of creating a beautiful and much improved space. I can’t imagine having done this project without the HouseHome team. I highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Linda Pawlak, Jan. 2025**

> I’m so glad I found Christine! From the very beginning, she listened to me. When she brought the mood board, I was able to finally see what had been in my head. Even though our personal styles are different she was able to create a beautiful kitchen that we’re very proud of and will enjoy for many years.

**★★★★★ — Tammie Hogan, Dec. 2024**

> Christine and her team were great at listening to our needs and creating a design around what was important to us in our kitchen remodel! We also appreciated Christine's connections to all of the necessary purchases (appliances, cabinets, etc.) as well as her check-ins and great communication!

**★★★★★ — Cynthia Hardenbrook, Dec. 2024**

> My second time hiring Christine. I love the way she provides fresh ideas. I ended up going with her bold recommendation and I love it, plus getting many compliments. Appreciated her flooring contractor recommendation.

**★★★★★ — Matt P, Dec. 2024**

> Christine & her team did an amazing job helping us with our kitchen remodel. From the start, she really took the time to understand the look we were going for and made sure it worked with the style of our home.
>
> She handled everything so smoothly, especially coordinating orders to fit our contractor’s timeline, which was so impressive. On top of that, she recommended two great contractors for us to choose from, which was a huge relief—we didn’t have to go searching on our own.
>
> Christine was always super responsive, transparent about her costs, and mindful of our budget.
>
> Now, we have a kitchen we absolutely love! It’s beautiful, functional, and the place where we start every day. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend Christine to anyone tackling a remodel/update.

**★★★★★ — Jeremy, Nov. 2024**

> Christine helped us with a whole house remodel in which we needed to blend old and new design, which was very different from examples on her website when we hired her. But she had some bold design choices that my wife liked. The main floor of our house remained mostly unchanged with original woodwork, but we were putting in a new kitchen, and we were popping the top. Christine's designs were phenomenal! She stayed true to the style we wanted and listened to our input and came up with bold design options where we were open to bolder design choices. The basement bar she designed is one-of-a-kind, with a unique speakeasy feel that perfectly matches the style of the house as well. This was a multi-year project, and Christine stayed committed to seeing it through to the end until it was perfect!

**★★★★★ — Jillian, Nov. 2024**

> Christine and her team were great to work with. She made our home more beautiful than I could ever have hoped to on my own. I told her what my vision was and she made it happen. I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out!

**★★★★★ — biele, Nov. 2024**

> Christine was wonderful! From the moment she picked up the phone, I felt like I was talking to a friend. She truly listened to me.
>
> We had just been through a horrific remodel experience and I was given Christine’s name to help me fix some the design issues and finish the hood in our kitchen.
>
> She explained her fee ( more than reasonable -and worth every penny!!) and we set up a time for her to come to my house.
>
> When she came over, she was so helpful and we were immediately able to pick out the items I needed and the contractor was all set to begin building the hood.
>
> Christine was empathetic to my previous situation and was so kind. She demonstrates integrity in her work and how she conducts business. I am looking forward to using her again.

**★★★★★ — HQ Architects, Oct. 2024**

> Working with Christine was delightful. As an architect, we care deeply that our clients are passed to the hands of interior designers we can trust, and Christine delivered! She and her team worked tirelessly as a guide for our homeowners, ensuring that the final home stayed true to their vision and needs, from helping to repurpose old pieces discovered by the owners to tying a myriad of unique pieces into a cohesive whole. The product selection is at once a contemporary play of colors and textures and timeless, beautifully walking that line between historic and new. Moreover, Christine and her team were professional and a pleasure to work with. We are always excited to recommend them to our clients.

**★★★★★ — bensons34, Sept. 2024**

> We hired Christine Mechelse to design and manage a full basement remodel. She brilliantly transformed our late 70's basement into a finished product that blew us away. It is now a beautiful, comforting space that we love. From the initial consultation to the final reveal, we were confident in our decision to hire Christine. She and her team are extremely responsive and a joy to work with. We couldn't be more happy with the finished result and will definitely hire HouseHome for future renovations.

**★★★★★ — shelbynbarrett91, Aug. 2024**

> The HouseHome team totally nailed my extremely particular vision of a retro, boho, southwestern home with a Moroccan and Mexico City flare - HA! I came to Christine with a specific idea of what I wanted our home to be after a complete remodel and she nailed every design choice, fabric, color, texture etc. Couldn’t be more pleased with the end result - thank you HouseHome for all the help along the way!

**★★★★★ — South Meets Southwest Kitchen Remodel, April 2024**

> I cannot speak highly enough of Christine and her team. We met with Christine months before our project was scheduled to begin and she was able to bring our vision to life. She and her team designed the most dreamy kitchen I could ever imagine. I'm from Alabama and New Mexico and I wanted design elements from both incorporated into our home. She designed a board and named it 'South Meets Southwest' and I knew it was meant to be. Once we approved the design board, she sent over a rendering of what it would look like with all the selections. My husband and I needed the visual before we could move forward. The rendering was beautiful and we knew we had made the right choice. Christine met with our amazing contractors, Grimes Home Concepts, many times throughout the process to ensure that no detail was overlooked. She selected items that were high quality but was also cognizant of our budget. She even helped us to figure out the size of each cabinet based on what I planned to store...i.e. those super tall water bottles that don't fit anywhere! I now have a perfectly sized water bottle drawer. I would recommend Christine and her team to anyone who is thinking of a remodel project of any kind. She gave me so much peace of mind in knowing that I wasn't making these decisions on my own. I wouldn't change a single thing about my kitchen. Don't hesitate in hiring them. You won't regret it! Our kitchen has been featured in blogs, the West + Main home magazine and on Pinterest!

**★★★★★ — Tyler, Dec. 2023**

> I remodeled my kitchen with HouseHome. It turned out great! I love that it is unique but not garish and really captured my individual aesthetic.

**★★★★★ — Angela S, Oct. 2023**

> Christine and her team were absolutely delightful to work with! After our first meeting Christine knew exactly the vibe I hoped for and far exceeded my expectations. The entire process was so simple and easy. After the first meeting, we texted back and forth a few inspo ideas and shortly after Christine had created my board. I absolutely loved it and we got everything ordered super quickly! I LOVE my space and recommend working with this rockstar team!

**★ — HU-54334570, Oct. 2023**

> I have wrestled with leaving you a review but decided I should let others know my experience with you. And if I were in your shoes I would want to know why my client felt their designer did not meet their needs/expectations.
> 1\. Our first meeting was rescheduled twice.
> 2\. Your assistant was scheduled to come over at 9am to take measurements on a different day. I texted her at 0915 and she stated that she was running a little late. She arrived at 1030. I wrote you about it and you said you thought you had access to my home all morning and it wasn’t a big deal and you had her working on something else. My son needed to come home and I postponed his arrival thinking you would stick to your appointment time.
> 3\. You came to our meeting (with the contractor) with the wrong bid. During this meeting, you kept referring to the old bid after the contractor and I stated that you have the wrong one of those corrections had already been made. You asked me to resend the correct one to you.
> 4\. When I asked if I could go look at slab samples (b/c one day worked better for my schedule) you said if I waited for the day you could meet me that you would have a map of the locations of stones that I liked and had picked out from the pictures you sent. When we met (you were 25 min late) there was no map. We just browsed the isles even going to 2 shops that did not even carry slabs. You charged me for the time you spent sending me the slab sample pictures. But this seems like such a waste b/c we did not go see them.
> 5\. You stated you would post my kitchen for sale on Aug. 24. As of Sep 1, you had still not posted it, stating that you would tomorrow.
> 6\. The tile you picked out for my kitchen stains. We have stated from the beginning that our kitchen is not a show room, but used for every meal. You texted me “to protect terracotta tiles from staining, you need to use sealer. Sealing natural terracotta tile is a very labor intensive process and has potential problems that can result in the permanent staining and streaking of your tile.”
> 7\. The week of Aug. 25-Sep 1, we were supposed to finalize plans so that we could give them to contractor when he returned from his trip. No progress was made. You did not communicate with me about the project. My husband and I started ordering samples and making plans ourselves.
> 8\. When I finally reached out to you to ask what was going on, you stated that you emailed me on Aug. 31 but I did not receive it. When I asked you to forward me that said email time stamped for Aug 31, you did not. Which only leaves me to believe it was not sent on Aug. 31.
> 9\. I asked you for the excel sheet with our budget on it (which you stated from the beginning that you would keep track of), again you had the wrong bid on there from the contractor.
>
> We did not feel as though you have held up your end of the contract. As we paid our last bill to you, we are left scratching our heads asking “Why”.

**Comment from HouseHome:**

> Jamie,
> At the beginning of your project, I had to reschedule our consultation twice. The first time was because my son’s open heart surgery was moved to a later date. The second time was because my father was dying and I needed to be with my family and say goodbye to him. Both of these things, while of course, not your problem, certainly warrant some patience and kindness with our scheduling. Rescheduling your appointments to start your project was not ideal for anyone, but my family comes first. You never communicated that this was such a problem at the time, even though I was transparent as to why I needed to reschedule.
>
> Your other items that point to delay are also unwarranted. I was late to an appointment with you by 25 minutes because when I got about 10 minutes from the office, I had a notification that your tile sample was delivered. To have this for our meeting, I asked if it was okay that I turn around and grab the tile, even if it meant I was late to do so. You agreed.
>
> I admit I was not on my A-game during this season, but employed wonderful people who were helping to not only hold me up personally during this time, but professionally as well. That to say, I absolutely needed extra assistance, and there were a few mistakes on my part, but I moved to resolution quickly and apologized.
>
> I paused on posting your kitchen for sale so we could remedy your disappointment and waited for your response to my email, which was never met with discussion.
>
> When you communicated that you were frustrated with some things, I replied with a full, thoughtful reply not only once again apologizing for the rescheduling, but to ensure you were fully aware of why things might have felt a little different in the beginning of your project. Not once did you express understanding or even common kindness for these two life-changing events, that were occurring at the same time as your project was getting started, and I still delivered a kitchen design with multiple optional changes that you loved so much you couldn’t decide which to choose.
>
> Overall, I will apologize once again for the minor mistakes and rescheduling that needed to take place for a major surgery and death in my family. You are the only client who was not at all understanding and have treated the very legitimate reasons for delays as “excuses” even though I was paused to understand how you wanted to move forward. I even offered feedback on your comments but received only a “Are we going to work together or what?” type of reply and was still trying to determine if we should move forward with your projects, or if you even wanted me to do so when you paid your bill and send me a note saying we were done.
>
> As for the final email I sent you, I accidentally sent it to my assistant instead of you and then resent it once I saw you didn’t get it. My “excuses” as you call them were always honest issues or minor miscommunication, as I am only human. We never resolved your concerns so of course I was not proceeding with the project until that was resolved.
>
> I wish you luck in the future with your project. I understand that you are very happy with our contractor and our designs.
>
> As always, I have kept records of all of our conversations, and am happy to resend them to you as it seems your recollection of how these instances took place is not accurate.

> Christine and her staff were amazing. They were extremely accommodating and turned our home into a classy oasis. Thank you!!!

**★★★★★ — Business\_Name\_Placeholder, March 2023**

> Christine, Carissa, and the whole team at HouseHome are absolute experts. I loved working with them! The entire team is patient, kind, smart, and really knows how to incorporate your style in their designs. HouseHome helped me take my tiny, cramped 70s kitchen & turn it into a spacious, modern, masculine space that was the highlight of the home. They know how to work within a budget & when things get tough, they're willing to step in & help however necessary.
>
> Halfway through the kitchen project, I found out that I'd be moving in a few months. HouseHome jumped in to help me make minor renovations to the rest of my home to earn top dollar for the sale. They were a godsend! I don't know how I would have done it all without them.
>
> Below I included a before photo, one of their renderings, and a few photos of the finished product. See for yourself! Their work is top notch, and I couldn't ask for a better team to work alongside. I'll absolutely be using their services again the future!

**★★★★★ — Laura Hicks, March 2023**

> Working with Mariah is one of the best investments I've made. I wish I did it sooner. I actually would have saved money doing so. I kept buying things and a year or 2 later getting rid of them because they just weren't right. Our home looks and feels so good now. We get SO many compliments from our guests.
>
> Mariah also helped with designing my salon and she did such a fabulous job. My clients love the space just as much as I do.
>
> Do yourself a favor and just hire one of these amazing designers.

**★★★★★ — Nathen, Jan. 2023**

> Been working with Mariah from HouseHome LLC to turn my primary residence into a cozy Colorado themed house to turn into a furnished rental in 2023. She has nailed bringing my thoughts into a practical appeal. Highly recommend

**★★★★★ — Hannah Seifert, Dec. 2022**

> I recently worked with HouseHome to design my home office in our new modern home. From the first meeting, Mariah had my style dialed in and put together a design I loved in no time. She was responsive and open to my ideas and questions throughout the whole process. Nothing I would change about the finished room - the texture and pops of color in the otherwise white space are perfect. Highly recommend Mariah and the HouseHome team!

**★★★★★ — Laura and Randy Reid, Sept. 2022**

> Mariah is a gem!! When my husband and I decided we wanted to do a complete remodel of our master bath.....we really had no idea where to start. After one trip to Floor & Decor to get ideas on colors, types of flooring, tile etc..... it became apparent to both of us that we were not capable of designing our new bathroom. My hubby headed home, did a google search and found HouseHome LLC and Mariah.
>
> Mariah made the process from start to finish incredibly simple. We gave her an idea of colors and what we were wanting in our reno and off she went....creating mood boards and renderings that were perfect. My husband and I did not always agree on every change from hardware to window coverings and Mariah (God Bless her) took this into account and always came up with a remedy that pleased us both.
>
> As a very busy couple....it was so great to have Mariah oversee our remodel as both designer and project manager through out the entire process. She put us in contact with DW Contractors who did the work - and they too were amazing!! From design to ordering all the material, to working directly with the contractor on timelines and any issues that came up....Mariah did it all.
>
> What I learned through this process is that it "takes a village" to do renovation of any room in your home. The coordination of the various contractors, plumbers, electricians etc.....is a huge job in itself. With Mariah and the team she put us in contact with....in 6+ weeks the job was done and it's beautiful.
>
> We highly recommend Mariah and HouseHome LLC for any interior design work you may need. The are a full-service provider - but also willing to work with you on what you need assistance with - and let you run with things you would prefer to handle.
>
> Thank you Mariah - our dear friend and designer:-)

> Working with Mariah at HouseHome was an absolute joy from start to finish. She was professional and kind throughout the entire journey of setting up my first airbnb, especially when an extensive amount of work to be done that happened to be while i was outside the country. During that period and beyond, she handled everything. More importantly, however, the design work was phenomenal and exceeded expectations. I will definitely be working with them and only them in the future. I almost wouldn't recommend them to an airbnb because I don't want any of my competitors to look as good as mine! Thank you so much Mariah! You're the best!

> Christine and Mariah are the best! They have helped me with my own home and more recently my mother’s new home. They work well together to come up with a plan that meets your needs financially and aesthetically. I have referred them to friends who also had great experiences. I really appreciate their prompt response time and attention to detail no matter the size of the project. I will definitely be using them for any future home design needs.

> Christine and her team have transformed our 1970's vintage into a 2021 mid-century modern home during a very high-demand home renovation period in the industry. This very "tired" two-story home needed a total overhaul in every room. Christine managed every aspect of this project, including the interior design and exterior appeal, while ensuring structural integrity. The plan included removing walls, moving windows and doors on the main floor for an open space concept, and redesigning bathrooms for spacious living. She chose contractors and trade to carry out her vision promptly to meet our very tight timeline. While most everything was going on backorder, her contactors skillfully built our exceptional kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities and closet systems to alleviate delays. In addition, she visually enlarged the house; a breath of fresh air and attention to detail in every choice paid off handsomely at the end. Christine exceeded our expectations; we are very proud of her work, appreciate her energy, pleasant personality, and creative genius.

**★★★★★ — Shani Black Hawk, Nov. 2021**

> We hired Christine to decorate our small chateau in St. Gaultier, France. Her designs and decorating were a perfect mix of country French and sleek modern, and compliment our 13th century home beautifully. Christine paid close attention to preserving the original accents of our home, which was extremely important to us. She even exposed the original 800 year old fireplace that had been plastered over, which we had no idea was there! We look forward to working with her again soon!

**★★★★★ — Gosselin, Nov. 2021**

> For two musicians who need to hire help when hanging a frame, Mariah was a life saver while flipping out home. Not only did she pick out every fixture or piece of furniture that gets compliments, she understands construction too. We hired her in the beginning phases of remodeling our basement and her vision completely saved the layout of our basement bath/laundry room. It went from being a cramped, dark space to a bright (and useful) and even fun room! Having her to search for and recommend products saved me time, brain power, and that buyers remorse feeling and allowed me to focus on our new baby and moving. Literally couldn't have made this house home without her.

**★★★★★ — Caroline Crompton, Nov. 2021**

> We had the great pleasure of working with Mariah to help completely transform our home. From one conversation, Mariah knew exactly what we were looking for and was able to put all of our ideas into a sound and organized design. She's been patient, accommodating, and brought multiple options for us to choose from. We can't say thank you enough to HouseHome for all of their great and hard work.

> Room: Nursery, Theme: anchored around antelope rug, Timeframe: 3 months turned into a few weeks
>
> Baby arrived sooner than planned and we needed a space ASAP. Christine gave a reasonable amount of choices to anchor and quickly pull together final decisions. She stuck with some of my must haves, while also encouraging me to look at items I wouldn’t have thought of. I like her use of complimentary patterns to bring things together (I would have been too matchy matchy and missed some needed texture). We started with a theme and an inspo room was created from there. It all came together beautifully.

> I would not recommend Christine. We hired her to assist me with design decisions for a 2400 square foot remodel. She mismeasured cabinets/vanities and became upset with me when I switched some details around with the general contractor (I would recommend him and his company - I will credit her for recommending them!). Some of the lighting fixtures she helped me choose didn't work for the spaces they were ordered for so they had to be reworked. The last straw was when the flooring contractor she recommended showed up at our home surprised that it wasn't vacant and that we had stairs! Their measurements also turned out to be incorrect. When I fired the flooring contractor, she was upset with me and fired us as clients....bottom line, she quoted work in the price that she charged us that was either haphazardly done or not done at all. I would not recommend her.

> Hello -
>
> I am disappointed that instead of coming to me personally you chose to take this complaint public, especially being a realtor in this community as well. Not once did you mention any issues during our design and renovation process, other than typical bumps along the way of a very large renovation, any of which were resolved immediately. On the contrary, I have full transcripts of our communications, all of which were positive, other than what is mentioned further in this response. We parted ways back in September 2020 on understanding terms (I have this transcript) and haven't spoken since. Since you have decided to leave a bad review nearly SEVEN months later, which is quite peculiar, I'm sure you would understand why I would feel the need to set the record straight on what was a perfect 5-star review record standing here on Houzz, as well as being awarded Best in Customer Service 4 years in a row (top 3% of 2.5 million professionals).
>
> I work very hard as a small business owner to go above and beyond for my clients. I also expect the same excellence from the contractors I work with. I value those relationships a great deal. I run my business with integrity, excellence and kindness. I also want to work with clients and contractors who value those attributes as well. I trust certain professionals and recommend them for work. However, at times, I have to make difficult decisions where I must support my clients or my renovation contractors / crews. In your case, it was necessary that I side with my flooring installers. Knowing this would mean I lose you as paying client.
>
> To clarify the so-called "firing", my flooring crew showed up, on time, as scheduled to install your new flooring. When the lead was unclear in verbal communication with you, you got angry and fired them there on the spot, with zero allowance for him to clarify. This is a crew I work with on a regular basis, who exceeds in quality of workmanship, all while being incredibly kind, respectful and professional during installation. Because there was a language barrier and you instantly decided to not even call his boss, he and the rest of the crew were escorted off the property by your husband like criminals (this was the description used by the general contractor and the flooring crew). Everyone was in shock including the general contractor and flooring company owner. I decided it would not be a good fit for me and my company, which carries an excellent name, to continue working with someone who treats other professionals in such a poor manner. I explained this in our communication, that I was severing our relationship based on your mistreatment of others. However, I offered you and the contractor that you continued to retain, all of the necessary information to complete the job (even allowing him to reach out to me with any questions free of charge), including all boards digital images, and my designs.
>
> Regarding your specific ratings, none of which hold any truth:
>
> Work Quality - I did everything with excellence. I have written documentation of how happy you were with choices made, how happy you were with the design, etc. I have emails and texts from the contractor before and after we parted ways that you absolutely loved everything about the remodel.
>
> Communication: I communicated with excellence. I have documentation of how promptly I responded to your messages via email and text, of all of my communication regarding orders, deliveries, scheduling, meetings, etc.
>
> Value: I work extremely hard and make the most out of every single hour I put in, and in invoices I break down specifically where my time would go. I also gave you every single one of my discounts (many), instead of a standard designer practice of keeping that difference. I have documentation of you thanking me for sharing my discounts. I also had an hourly rate with you that was incredibly competitive with other designers.
>
> I never once became upset with you. That is 100% imagined and false. I do not become upset with clients, as I am honored to be hired by them to make their home their dream, take that privilege seriously. and whatever it takes to make them happy is what I will do. Nothing was measured in error. That is also completely false. You wanted all vanities to go wall-to-wall just as they had been previously. All that had to be done technically was measure the current ones to order replacements. Ultimately the contractor confirmed and approved the measurements, as that is part of his job.
>
> It is apparent this 7-month delayed reaction is a personal decision to attempt to hurt another professional's small business, based solely on me having to make the character decision to no longer work with you, while it carries zero truth or honest substance. I'd be happy to share all of our communications with you, in addition to the communications between me and the contractor whom you praise, and I welcome you to contact me personally to resolve any further miscommunications you feel were made.

> Christine has been great to work with! My husband and I have completely different styles and she has done a great job at blending the two so that we both love the spaces she has created for us. She is always available for our many questions and is up front about costs (no hidden stuff). She is such a great designer to work with and is always positive and willing to work with us on changes or things that may come up. We will definitely be using her in the future for more projects. We 100% recommend her!!!

> Christine has helped me fully transition my house to a home. Over the course of the last 10 months, we've designed for my living room, kitchen, office, and patio. I couldn't be happier with the degree to which Christine translated my visions (often unclear, vague, and inconsistent) into a very beautiful reality. Christine respected my budget throughout the process-- showing me the ways in which I could compromise, while also highlighting areas where not to. I feel so confident in my purchases to date and proud of my home-- whether I am in it alone or hosting dinner parties. I highly recommend Christine if you're looking for your home to have a personality of its own.

> What a fantastic experience! After a terrible one with a previous designer, a friend recommended HouseHome. Working with Christine has been a delight. She will adjust to your needs vs. forcing you into her desires and will make sure that what you work on fits your lifestyle. She took what the previous decorator had done, and without having to scratch it all moved forward in a beautiful way. My home is toda a place a love to be in and enjoy with my family. I cant wait to get started with her on other projects!

**★★★★★ — rick\_burtt, Nov. 2020**

> Christine expertly guided us through a whole-home renovation, taking a dark and dated 90's house with early 2000's furniture and turning it into a bright, airy, mid-century modern oasis. She worked hand-in-hand with our contractor to ensure the vision was maintained. Not only did she design every space from the floor to the ceiling, but she assisted with selling our old furniture and then selecting the new pieces. She spent countless hours researching just the right look and making her selections with a sensitivity toward budget. In some cases, she knew when to be adamant with us where additional investment was worth the long term value in the project, but was usually able to find other areas to offset those choices. Her process is fully transparent, asking many questions to gauge our style - she doesn't just apply her style to your home. She really delivers to make your home distinctly yours. She was able to get us to push our own boundaries and make choices that challenged us, but which ultimately led to the home of our dreams.
>
> With the project complete, we have had countless compliments on the end product. We still walk around our own house, marveling that it's truly ours. So great was Christine to work with that my mother-in-law immediately hired her to design their new house!

**★★★★★ — Jim Hankins, Jan. 2020**

> I was referred to Christine Rapert, aka House Home, by the moving company assisting in my move from a large house to a two bedroom apartment. I was basically starting over with the requirement for all new furniture, and yet the need to incorporate my art work and a number of photographs and special artifacts and decor items.Christine came in, quickly assessed my situation, and meshed the "old with the new", working with various retailers to find furniture that not only fit my needs, but was attractively priced. She is experienced, very professional, responsive on a timely basis, and enjoyable to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone seeking assistance in designing and creating an attractive and functional household!

> Christine was a delight to work with! She completely designed two bathrooms for us and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out! She has also been helping us with many, many other decisions as we've completely gutted our home. She was very respectful of costs and had great suggestions for very normally priced items from normal stores. She can work in many different styles and is good at helping not only make recommendations, but find the specific items to purchase for a space. For sometime like myself, the job of completely renovating and decorating a home is very overwhelming and Christine makes it simple and enjoyable. Our home is turning into a beautiful space for our family to rest, relax and play in!

> Chris, from HouseHome LLC, was enlisted to outfit our newly purchased luxury Denver AirBnb from top to bottom. She is a delight to work with--professional, friendly, hard-working, a great communicator and best of all, a true genius when it comes to interior design. She is currently helping us re-envision our real estate office space and our personal residence. We would't consider using another decorator and we will without-a-doubt be referring her to our friends, family + clients.

> Chris is awesome. This is the second home that Chris has transformed for us. The first was in Colorado and she rocked that farm house look. This time, she took our small Florida house and turned it into our little beach/bay home and it is so comfortable and warm. We love it so much. She transformed our living area and our master and did it in just 4 days. She has a way of looking at a space and seeing not only a vision but our personalities also.

> Christine has been wonderful to work with. Her suggestions for revitalizing my family room turned it into a space I absolutely love. She brightened everything up, and gave me great suggestions for opening-up the space. My favorite part is her taking time to incorporate my grandma’s antique platters into the room. Her rates are beyond reasonable, and she is respectful of budgets.

> Chris worked with me to decorate my house using what I already have. She created better spaces and allowed my collections from world travels to be truly seen and appreciated. In the photo you can see how she created shadow boxes to display my global doll collection that otherwise was just thrown on the mantel. She was extremely professional, and got a sense quickly what my style is. Pricing was very reasonable, and all in all, she was very easy to work with.

Christine came to us with an open embracing view and appreciation of our likes but was able to help us focus on adding elements and functionality to make an on-trend cohesive kitchen that will withstand the decades. She was incredibly supportive, collaborative and trusting. The best part was she was so nice and comfortable to work with but such a dynamic visionary. She is and will always be our go to designer!

> My husband and I decided to put our mountain house on the market as a vacation rental. We invited Christine to turn an office into a bedroom, plus spruce up 2 other bedrooms…all with 24 hour notice and her living 2 hours away. By the end of the next day she had come up with a design, she and her assistant scoured Denver for furniture & accessories, picked all of the pieces up including a new sofa, chair, coffee table, rug, lighting, wall decor, accessories, finishing touches like fresh flowers, etc., and had it completed and ready to be professionally photographed the following day. Not only did Christine listen to what we wanted and brought that vision to fruition, but she did it in a matter of time that should have been considered unrealistic. Her ability to create, shop within a budget and bring it all together so quickly is unmatched.

## Community Q&A

**Q: where can I purchase the duck faucet?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the ducks on the sink

A: The one we have is original to the 1926 home. However, if you do a reverse image search there are lots of reproductions out there. Otherwise you can google search “brass swan faucet”. Hope this helps! :)

**Q: backsplash tile?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the playful backsplash tile. can you share what it is? This kids bathroom is really lovely!

A: absolutely, and thank you!!

**Q: Overhead pendant source?** *(in Photo Questions)*

This room is so pretty! Would you please share the source of the ceiling pendant?

A: Hi! Thanks much!! It’s from World Market, called the Feather something or other, but I can’t find it now. :(

**Q: i would love to get a new entertainment center - this one or white?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I wanted to give options, but the white is more along the lines of what I was thinking, so it appears more like a built-in & classier.

**Q: For basement, might keep white blinds. Can you give me curtain ideas?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The curtains stop short & are awkward because of the shelf.

**Q: He may be against repotting. Maybe he can put in a nicer tray?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Yes, we can address some options. :)
