**Q: fireplace stone** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please tell me make and color or the stone on the fireplace ?  thank you!

A: It's a slate wall stone and the color is 'Desert Sand'. Let me know if you would like the brand as well and I'll look it up.

**Q: Are these subway and porcelain tiles installed correctly?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We had our bathroom remodeled and weren't 100% happy with how the tiles were installed, but our GC told us this was "normal" for subway tiles. We have many places where the subway tiles are uneven (see pics). Can anyone tell me if this is how subway tiles are supposed to look after installation?  Is this worthy of a redo?

I also want to mention that the floor porcelain tiles all had to come up to be redone because they started to click. It turns out none of them stuck to the thinset when originally installed. They just finished reinstalling the floor tiles again and they are not even. Our GC says they will fix it again by removing a few floor tiles to make the floor even, but we feel they all need to come up and be redone again. They also put back down some floor tiles that they nicked during the last redo. 

We are now concerned that our GC's tilers don't know what they're doing. I appreciate any help and comments you can give us. Thank you.

**Q: Help me choose a paint color!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Bought new townhouse, want to paint master suite, but am terrified of making a bad decision (because this is \*not\* my forte!). Check out the wall samples and please weigh in! (p.s. I have very little furniture now, so don't even take that into consideration.)

A: Mauve patch in the centre

**Q: Caulking won't stick. Keeps disintegrating.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have recaulked this 20 year old shower 3 times in the past 6 months. Each time, we cleaned the area, removed the old caulking, bleached the area, and let it dry out at least 24 hours before and after, yet it peels off within a few weeks. This last time, we even borrowed an industrial blower and dried it out for 4 days before recaulking and 4 days after. It started peeling within days after that. The really weird thing is when you rub the peeled-off caulking between your fingers, it crumbles. We have tried 3 different types, all specified for kitchen and bath use. What are we doing wrong?

We're considering doing something to the fireplace but not sure what. It seems like lovely elements but too many. Any ideas on how make this more unified?
