> I entered a written contract to have Freestone Design/Build do a project on my house. I paid a $36,250 deposit before any design work could take place.  Per their contract, I was entitled to a return of that deposit except for a $7,000 non-refundable design fee. Due to increasing estimates during the design phase, I never got far enough with this company to start any construction on my project. I knew I had to forfeit the design fee when I decided to end relations with this company before any construction occurred. I requested my remaining $29,250 be returned as the contract stated over 10 months ago. Despite numerous attempts to get the remainder of my deposit back over the past 10 months, Freestone has failed to return my deposit. I've finally had to hire an attorney to try and collect the outstanding deposit, and Freestone has still failed to return it despite a number of written assurances that they would. Use much caution when conducting business with this company, or a safer option would be to avoid doing business with them altogether.
