Shoji Designs is a small custom shop. We build shoji screens that combine Japanese delicacy and style with the durability necessary in a Western environment. > Ed is a true craftsmen. He built 5 Shoji doors for my coastal home that are spectacular in appearance and design. If you want something to make your home special, look no further than this to add some Shoji doors! Professional and easy to work with Ed & Frances are top notch. Thanks Ed & Frances!

> Scott, Thank you for the kind words! It was a pleasure working with you.

> I so love my beautiful Shoji screens from Shoji Designs! Even though I live halfway across the country, they arrived in perfect condition. Ed patiently answered my contractor's every question, and all the mounting hardware arrived in packaging marked with clear explanations. I had him make three cherry panels to divide two interconnected rooms, so I can have privacy without covering some sliding glass outside doors. I also had him make two beech panels as doors to an "office closet" where I can live my naturally sloppy lifestyle, then pull the screens shut to a peaceful, spare, tidy bedroom. They are so perfectly made, down to the tiniest detail, and the wood and Warlon are exceptional quality. I love how they allow me to have big, open spaces without sacrificing cozy, private spaces. Ed kept me posted and delivered in the time frame he said he would. An excellent experience all around.

> We hired Shoji Designs to build a door for the entrance and two for the closet as part of a Master Bath remodel. Ed and Francis were extremely responsive and worked closely with both us and the contractor to ensure the doors fit and met our expectations. Beautiful work - we couldn't be happier with the final product. Absolutely beautiful.

**★★★★★ — Fraley and Company, June 2016**

> My design firm contracted Shoji Designs to design and build multiple shoji doors and windows for a master bathroom renovation in Portland OR.
> Edward and Frances were prompt, responsive, detail oriented and easy to work with. The panels came out exactly as we designed them, fit perfectly and the level of craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. The price was very reasonable for the level of quality and customer service that we received.

> We highly recommend Shoji Designs, and we're looking forward to the next project with them.

> Ed built two sliding shoji screens, a door and a small window for our master bath remodel. He worked with our designer to develop the appropriate dimensions and materials, then produced some beautiful work under a tight time frame. The finished products were of extremely high quality and we could not be happier with what he produced for us.

  - Description: Client's son designed a random pattern they wanted on their shoji screen. They wanted alot of light through the shoji to illuminate the hallway. Worked really well. Dear Ed and Frances, After many months of waiting, our lovely shoji is now in place and we are loving not only the design and placement, but of course, appreciating the quality, as well! Our construction took much longer than expected due to an addition in another room, but our contractor wanted the shoji to be the last thing install…

  - Description: Hi Ed and Francis, We had our beautiful shoji screens installed this morning. They came out perfect! The only hitch is with our window opening not being true on one side so we had to shim away from the edge at one of the bottom corners. I will calk and paint over it with the wall color and it will not be noticeable. And Many Thanks for these beauties - J Glasgow

## Community Q&A

**Q: who was the builder/ GC on this project?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Looking for a GC that understands Japanese design in Seattle area.

A: Hi. Dan at DRSM Inc was our contact on that job but the last time I looked him up to recommend to a client he was no longer in business. Could have retired or moved.. not sure. We recently worked with Nip Tuck Remodeling on a project, they were super nice folks. We've also worked with Borealis Builders but they are in the Leavenworth area. Sorry I can't be more helpful, we work with alot of homeowners and I don't always remember their contractors. Best, Frances
