He and his father performed all the physical work on various projects. He learned construction techniques and methodologies during this time that included foundations, rough and finish carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, masonry, insulating, roofing as well as drywall, cabinetmaking, and millwork. Robert’s love for drawing steered him to take courses in drafting in both junior high and high school. Less than a decade later Robert started his architectural business that integrated both his drafting skills and extensive knowledge of construction to serve the general public and builders alike. Robert attributes the success in his business to his dad’s training and mentoring. ‘He taught me how to think’ so when I design a structure, I know how to build it prior to putting into a plan format.
