  - Description: These garden boxes were built for a home owner in the Dundee area. The goal was to create gardening spaces for vegetables that were easily accessible and low maintenance. We built these out of AC2 Cedartone treated lumber. The two garden boxes are approximately 40 inches high x 8 feet long x 4 feet wide. They are filled with a mix of top soil and compost. The sides are lined with commercial grade Mirafi fabric. The client had tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers planted the next day.

With lots of flowering plants and 4 seasons of interest this landscape provides habitat in the winter for birds and attracts butterflies in the summer. Lots of native grasses as well as a bubbling boulder to create movement and sound throughout the year.

  - Description: Shade garden: The existing mature trees created a highly shaded area. We removed all the existing plant material and brought in compost to improve the soil quality. All the plants we use are on the water-wise plant list of the Nebraska Extension office and are hardy to Zone 4. We installed a drip line throughout the landscape beds into the existing sprinkler system to help with watering efficiency. This project was in Western Omaha in the Armburst Acres neighborhood.
