A: Looks like a stained/polished concrete. **Q: Leathered quartz countertops - Please help with backsplash!** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are remodeling with white cabinets (BM White Dove), shaker style. The counter is Leathered - Quartz - Calacatta Bianchi, which is creamy white with grays and earth tones/browns. Really hoping for some suggestions on the backsplash, please! With leathered counters, what finish on the backsplash would be best? Shiny, or matte finish? Also with color variations on the counters, should the backsplash be a solid white that would match the cabinets, or more of a creamy white like the counters, or a tile that has a slight soft variation of colors that are in the counters (soft grays, soft tans, whites)? Thank you so much for any help with this! My husband is pushing to begin construction, and I'm afraid to pull the trigger on a decision like this. Thank you! A: Gorgeous counters! I like something simple that won’t detract from the beauty & movement in the quartz. Maybe a simple handmade subway tile in one of the secondary colors from your stone-the taupe or that buttery color. **Q: Need exterior cosmetic advice for brick Georgian.** *(in Design Dilemma)* This Chicago brick Georgian built in the 1940's needs some TLC. I need to replace the shutters and paint the bay window, including the roof. And repair the bay gutter. Any opinions on colors would be welcome. I'd also like to replace the light fixture. I recently transplanted hostas along the front. They look like a droopy mess right now, but should be tidy bunches next spring. The bushes will be trimmed back some. I'd like to overhaul the front landscaping at some point, but I don't have the time/money right now. Our fence is black. I'm not open to changing the color of the fence, since it's powder-coated and maintenance free. Is black something that I should bring to the front of the house? A: What about black shutters and trim around front door-keep bay window white & possibly whitewash the red brick chimney. I would either trim bushes way ,way back or get rid of them completely-good luck **Q: Source for the bar stools?** *(in Photo Questions)* Great design....
