Green Basements & Remodeling has been in business since 2001. Owner, Laura Green, grew the business from what used to be just a painting company to now a full design-build, all-inclusive, fully licensed, and insured remodeling company. We offer a full range of services from painting to basement finishing, kitchen & bath remodels, roofing, decks & much more.

At Green Basements & Remodeling, our process starts with an estimator visiting your home to meet you, determine the scope of your project, take photos, and measurements. A few days after the initial in home visit, you will be welcomed to our showroom to meet with one of our skilled designers to review and modify proposed floor plans, and then be guided through our showroom to select all of the items that will be used in your project such as flooring, cabinets, countertops, light fixtures, tile, hardware, etc. Prior to commencing construction, our design team will employ 3D modeling to visually depict how your project will materialize, taking into account the chosen layout and materials. This enables you to envision and validate the desired appearance of the final product.

Our 25,000 sq. ft. design center and showroom is conveniently located in Marietta, GA.

**★ — HU-18332594, Sept. 2022**

> Stay away. Horrible project management. Created more stress than what it's worth. Paid a premium for subpar quality. All feels good until you sign the agreement.

**★★★★★ — Nishad Tambe, April 2020**

> Last year (2019) we completed our basement remodeling using services from Green Basements and Remodeling. It has been a surprisingly pleasant experience throughout. This review comes after 6 months of using the finished basement and from a very satisfied customer.
>
> The whole processes stared when we initially deposited $100 for the initial visit of the Green Basement architect in April, 2019. We got our finished basement in September, 2019. We chose Green Basements because they were willing to work with our somewhat messed up unfinished basement and still keeping the cost down to what we had initially planned for few years ago.
>
> Ericksson Perez was the architect and salesperson who reviewed our basements, took measurements and asked a lot of quesitons as to what our needs were and then went back to get a design done. Eric really put us at ease with his knowledge and solutions.
>
> Savanna Cooley was the designer who impressed us with her ability to come up with a great design and make small but detailed changes as we moved along with our ever increasing demands and requirements. We loved the final design.
>
> Basically, we had 1200 Sq.Ft. of unfinished basement and we wanted to have a home theater, an infrared spa, a pool table, aa kitchen, a bathroom and a bedroom and a small unfinished storage room. The total cost came out to be around $75K. Green Basements also recommended Georgia Home Theaters for our home theater needs and those guys also turned out to be fantastic. Please see a separate review of them from us. That home theater cost came out to be around $60K.
>
> Michael Thomas was our Project Manager from Green Basements and he was so great that we loved his patience, way of thinking to come up with solutions and promptness in letting us know when things got delayed. I think delays in such projects are normal and expected, what counts is how the company handles the delays. And Michael was a pro. He kept us informed all the time and expedited things wherever he could. Towards the end when there were finishing touches being made, we requested him to suggest how the unfinished storage room can remain neat and clean. He suggested to have it framed and drywalled, and the floor painted so that it can be cleaned easily. He got it done with no additional cost, even though that was not in our initial plan. We are eternally greatful to him for that.
>
> Helder was our HVAC guy from Green Basements and he did a fantastic job on installation and vents. We discussed what would be the optimal position of the vents and it was a good decision to have those vents all on one side instead of the middle.
>
> Luis was the carpet and paint guy who did great job installing the carpet in the bedroom and theater and painting the walls as per our color selection. The paint was touched up twice without any complaints after finishing because we had scratched a few surfaces a few times. Rogelio installed our Infrared Spa that was purchaged from Costco a year ago on 50% discount and it works great. Kennedy did the drywall install and he was so thorough that he took care of the impossible to reach corners of the wall behind the water heater. We owe him this great review.
>
> Todd and Steve were the electricians (and I am forgetting one more name, sorry). They did such an amazing job that we rehired them to install smart switches all over our remaining house. At one point we had to change the position of the pool table lights and they spent another 3 hours doing that. Now the pool table and lights as perfectly positioned.
>
> All in all, it was such a great experience that we would not hesitate to recommend Green Basements to anybody who is thinking of hiring them but not sure how they will do the job. We would highly recommend them over anybody and promise you that you won't be disappointed. Great work guys... Thank you!

> Stay away!!!! Do not use!!! I have one million reasons. A project that never, never, never ends!!! Crappy work. Overcharging on invoice $6000 and never apologizing. They recommended that we do not pull permits. Thank goodness we did!! Inspectors found problem after problem. I could go on but the point is go somewhere else!

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> We saw a nice picture of Green's work on Houzz. We hired Green to paint the interior and exterior of our house and replace our gutters. They were not the lowest bid, but we chose them because we only had 2 weeks before moving into our house and they promised to paint the interior within 2 weeks. After 4 months, we gave Green a deadline to finish or just quit. They never completely finished. Instead, they refused to do work they previously agreed to do (in writing). They were rude to us. Their workers did not respect our home as they broke items and left water running and trash on our property. Green initially agreed to pay to repair our roman shades their workers broke; they hired a vendor who fixed them, then they refused to pay their own vendor after the work was done. We had to pay. They painted our kitchen green instead of gray, used flat instead of satin in bathrooms and generally failed to manage the project. They were supposed to paint our handrail and they painted our hardwood floors! I had to pay a flooring contractor to sand and stain. (pics attached of Green's paint and other contractor's fix). We asked to speak with the owner and was told she does not take customer calls. I have worked with dozens of contractors on several big renovations. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had.

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> We are currently pursuing legal action against this client and therefore cannot give any details about this project until the legal proceedings are completed.

**★★★★★ — Lisa Hakim, July 2017**

> Although we did not end up using Green, for our own budget reasons, we were thoroughly impressed with them. It was easy to get an appointment, in our home, with Amy. She was great, and when she arrived she really took the time to go over all of our needs and wants. During our follow up appointment, to review the estimates at the showroom, she had 3 different blueprint options, with all pricing detailed out. When none of the scenarios worked within our budget, she made every effort to rework the materials and scope. Like I said, we were impressed. Wish we had a bigger budget!

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We wish you the best and hope you reach out to us in the future for any other projects you may have or if you wish to pursue this project. Thanks again for the opportunity.

**★★★★★ — Christina Kan, June 2017**

> We used Green to do a full kitchen renovation project that included removing walls, moving plumbing, enhancing the lighting, bricking up a window, new cabinets, new flooring and refinished floors and extensive painting throughout the main floor. There were small hiccups during the project that were resolved with relative ease. Michael Thomas, our project manager, was always accessible, quick to respond and very knowledgeable. We drew on his expertise over and over again throughout the project and he helped us work through problems that came up. We had some small issues after the project was completed and Michael has been very easy to work with in resolving those as well. I would highly recommend Green, but especially Michael!

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Your kitchen turned out amazing and we really enjoyed putting it all together. We look forward to working with you on any future projects you may have. Thanks again for you business.

**★★★★★ — Molly McKenna, May 2017**

> Green was amazing -they finished our basement beautifully and ahead of schedule! Thomas our project manager was the best-most professional person and super accommodating! We started the project right before Christmas and it was done by mid February. We had a bathroom, gym, kitchen/bar and three additional living spaces finished in our basement.

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> Thank you for leaving us a review. We greatly appreciate your business and pleased to hear your satisfaction. We look forward to working with you again.

**★★★★★ — knbradigan, Feb. 2017**

> We hired Green to do our kitchen remodel and couldn't be more please! We had a great experience with the entire team.

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to earn your business. Your Kitchen turned out amazing!

**★ — sophiarossi, Oct. 2016**

> Horrendous. The most unprofessional (and blatantly rude) company I've ever come across. They don't care ONE BIT about their customers. As someone else said, don't be fooled by the HGTV appearances. They are terrible. My husband and I are the types of people who would give just about anyone the shirts off our backs. We are compassionate and understanding...We TOTALLY GET that mistakes happen. We hired Green for a fairly small project in our basement and it was a MESS starting the day we signed the contract. A dry bar consisting of a 6 ft long counter and cabinets took over 3 months to complete. All of the basic measurements were wrong, multiple times. The wrong materials were ordered. Our Green rep was always confused and then argumentative. We would have been better off doing it ourselves. Their office was extremely unresponsive, workers did not show up when they said they would, no one returned phone calls, etc. In the end we turned over the final check with a respectful note to the owner requesting a conversation. She never called.. just cashed the check. Unreal.
>
> A note to Green.. Congrats on getting away with some smaller amount from us ($5k). In the meantime, over the past year, my husband and I have been sitting pretty in our 1,000-home neighborhood veering everyone we come across away from you guys. Anytime we hear that neighbors and friends are considering your company, we tell our 100% fact-based story to them so they don't have to go through what we did. That's what you deserve when you treat your customers like garbage.

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> We are very sorry to hear of the experience you had with our team. We have since addressed your concerns with the people involved with your project and even replaced some of them and vendors. We hope you pleased with the end results and enjoying your bar.

**★★★★ — slford1, March 2016**

> We just finished our master bathroom with Green Remodeling and I am ready to use them for a third. Their people are a pleasure to work with and the results are fantastic. I watch A LOT of HGTV and my bathrooms could be on television. I like their design center approach which allowed me to pick out everything for the bathroom in less than an hour. During the renovation process they had work going on every day, no lag in the construction process (note: this was a request I made at the beginning of the process and I suggest you do the same with ANY contractor you use, don’t start until you have ALL the materials). They are not finished until you’re completely satisfied. A big thanks to Erin and Michael and the rest of the team…we love our bathroom!

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> Thank you for the Kind words and we appreciate the positive review and feedback.

**★★★★★ — Stacey Last, March 2016**

> We are currently at the end stages of our major kitchen remodel, and I am ecstatic with how beautiful it turned out. Erin, our estimator, worked with the design team to create a workable space that checked every box on our wishlist, and yet was still able to stay within our conservative budget. Michael, our project manager has been an absolute pleasure to work with and any time we have a question, concern, or change in plan he has immediately addressed it and made all anxiety disappear. While our timeline has stretched a bit beyond where we anticipated, I am very pleased with our choice in Green Basements & Remodeling and I recommend anyone who has remodeling needs to give them a call.

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> Thank you so much for leaving us a review. Your kitchen is beautiful! We would love to do a photoshoot. Thanks

**★★★★ — Lori Godfrey, March 2016**

> What started out as a major disaster in our basement with a frozen pipe turned into a beautiful basement remodel worth every penny! We love it! We decided to completely re-configure our basement after our burst pipe. We turned a dark and dingy basement into a warm family gathering place. Our project manager was Thomas Bennett and we sure hit the jackpot. Thomas was patient with us and communicated every step of the way. While there were some hiccups along with the way as there are in many projects, Thomas kept us informed and always made things right and the way we wanted them. Elizabeth was our design specialist and she helped us get it just like we always imagined it to be. Manuel was the one who really came in and worked on the details to get the job finished. He was very personable and great at his job.
>
> The only reason that we didn't rate Green Basements & Remodeling 5 stars was the length of time that it took to get a finalized estimate and the length of time to get the project completed. As with all home improvement projects, we understand that things come up that prolong the process. But...what was supposed to be a 6 to 8 week project ended up taking almost 4 months. While we were getting nervous that the project wouldn't be finished in time for the holidays, Thomas really pulled through for us and helped to get it completed.
>
> Just recently, I was reminded of the excellent service that Thomas provided for us. We had a warranty issue with a pipe and Thomas was at our house within 20 minute to see how he could help. Thomas got the plumber right over and we were fixed and ready to go within a couple of hours.
>
> if we had other projects to complete in our home, we'd certainly give them another opportunity.

**Comment from Green Basements & Remodeling:**

> You basement turned out amazing! It was a pleasure working with you and we hope to work with you again on any future projects you have. Thank you for your business.
