The Historical Society was able to connect with decedents of the builder of the property (Captain Scudder) and got pictures from the late 1800s of the newly completed home and porch. Mike was able to use that information to come up with the design for the new 2 story wrap around porch. We have utilized Mike and Sandy on 4 other projects since then, most recently with helping to design a new front entrance and cocktail lounge for Mon Bijou (formerly Inn at Pine Terrace) in Oconomowoc. Mike properly designed some out of the ordinary structural things. Mike researched rough saw floor joists for the loft so that they would show and be used as ceilings in the first floor rooms. I was told a number of places that this was not possible but Mike did it in a way that kept the inspector happy. I also wanted windows and doors centered on the ends that supported the ridge beam.
