Since we moved in we always find the range hood very weak and super noisy. Originally we thought it is the hood's problem, until yesterday I took off the motor to clean it up. > > You guess what? The damper of the hood is totally blocked by something behind it!!! So, it years, the hood is NEVER able to vent air out of the kitchen at all. I was astonished. No wonder why there is always too much smoke in my house! > > After I took of the whole hood, I found what is behind the damper: water and gas pipes! When they installed the hood, they connected the vent pipe and cut the hold in wrong place. Instead of fixing it, they just put the hood on, with the damper complete closed! And this passed their QA!! > > Indeed, even the damper were not blocked, their hood installation design is totally wrong. The hood manual requires bigger and straight pipe in wall vent installation, but they just make an unsealed tiny pipe inside the dry wall.
