> Outstanding job, that's the review. We bought a house in Magnolia/Seattle at the end of summer 2019.  We had a lot of work we wanted to to do over the winter to be ready for Summer 2020.  We interviewed five firms.  After reviewing each proposal carefully, we chose PCS because of the thoroughness of the proposal and because of the reviews they provided from previous clients.  We had high expectations, and they over-delivered on them, across the board. Scott and his team are unflappable. Ours was an old house and they came across so many "surprises," but Scott never called me to tell about them without an answer in his pocket.  We have built many homes, we have remodeled several.  This was our best experience, bar none. From plumbing, to electrical, to hardscaping and landscaping, to lighting, tile, wood floors, drywall/plaster remodeling, and major infrastructure like foundation/water line/sewer line work, they got it done and on budget (although we expanded the project and therefore budget as we went, and he allowed us to do that). We look back and say to ourselves "we really got lucky making that decision to hire PCS."

> We hired Paulsen Construction for our basement remodel.  Our basement was a very technically challenging project as it required the foundation to be dug down 12", which was below the neighborhood water table.  Due to his expertise in this kind of work, we hired him to oversee the project.  The scope of work included removing the foundation,  digging out over a foot of soil, de-watering system, new sewer lines and complete rebuild of the basement.  From start to finish, he and his team were professional,  knowledgeable and technically precise.  His subcontractors were also excellent and provided a high level of quality.  We appreciated Scott's "high touch" involvement and appreciated his perspectives and advice as we worked through changes and edits to our plan along the way.  At the eleventh hour, we decided to add a full kitchen remodel to the project.  Without skipping a beat, he made it happen.  Scott is honest, fair and trustworthy, which is hard to find in the construction industry.  We had to move out for 6 months, we never once felt worried about what was going on in our absence.

> Scott Paulsen and his team have performed work on our home for the past several years.  Scott has provided us counsel on a number of difficult projects on a high end home we remodeled in 2000.  Several aspects of the remodel were poorly done and Scott has been invaluable in helping us correct some serious problems, including a poorly installed roof that leaked and nearly ruined some priceless woodwork in the home, and areas that were not constructed properly, collected moisture and resulted in rot and destruction of valuable window casings and exterior and interior walls.  Scott fixed all of these with his crew and with other contractors he managed as our general contractor.  Scott's team met their proposed completion dates and their budgets.  Costs were very fair for the quality provided.  Scott has also purchased furnace and refrigerator replacements for us and managed the installation to ensure it is done properly with a reasonable markup on his cost to purchase the items.  We highly recommend Scott for performing and managing all aspects of home construction and repair.  His work is very high end quality! We greatly depend upon his expertise and service.

What is the hardwood floor?

A: We think so. Reasonably priced, mixed grain red oak is durable and easy to maintain. The secret is to water pop the grain and seal coat it while raised. It givers it that dimensional look.

A: Back splash is DAL 3 x 6, 0100 / White subway tile.
