**★★★★★ — Pat Wilson, Dec. 2021**

> Jimmy Crisp turned a lovely little one bedroom house into a magnificent two bedroom without changing the foot print. Complex project involved flipping the kitchen from the second floor to the first floor and surrounding it with a bank of windows to enjoy a spectacular river view. Cannot say enough good things about this brilliant architect.

**★★★★★ — A. Polsky, May 2026**

> We worked closely with Jimmy Crisp throughout the design and construction process and are delighted with the result -- a house that is both beautiful and functional. Jimmy listened carefully to us as we went through several design iterations. When we were approaching construction, he helped us screen contractors, and we ended up with an outstanding construction team. He also continued to visit the site during construction to make certain the plans were followed accurately and to advise when adjustments were needed. I would recommend Crisp Architects without reservation.

**★ — Lauren, April 2025**

> A Costly Mistake – Stay Away!
> Crisp Architects may appear to be a reputable firm with a focus on historic homes, but my experience was a nightmare. They partnered with shady contractors, billed in an erratic and excessive manner, and completely failed to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy for a project where they were the lead agency. Their lack of follow-through and accountability forced me to hire a real estate attorney just to untangle the mess they left behind at the City of Rye Building Department. This firm operates without integrity, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

**Comment from Crisp Architects:**

> Lauren, I felt that your request to sign off on your C of O was unethical since I was not on your jobsite every day as required by the building department. It is the job of the contractor, not the architect to file for a C of O.

**★★★★★ — John D, Nov. 2020**

> We engaged Jimmy Crisp to design and help us build a 7-figure new construction home after reviewing his portfolio and loving their design style. We only had a vague idea of what we wanted to do, and Jimmy and his team were extremely helpful in developing ideas and trying anything on paper we asked to see. Their plans are extremely detailed with every nuance thought out, they regularly brought up helpful ideas and perspective that we would have not thought of on our own, and when it came to construction itself they are demanding of builders to carry out the design and quality exactly as set forth in the final plans---looking out closely for our interest as owners. Further, his team was extremely helpful and proactively involved in all the day-to-day items that come up during the course of construction, making small changes, suggestions, and adapting to whatever each week would bring that needed to be worked though. We appreciated in particular how inviting and adaptive they were for us to have any amount of involvement we wanted---I would have felt equally comfortable with Crisp "watching the store" as we built if we were out of the country than I was being as involved as I chose to be. Jimmy and his company have built quite the reputation for themselves as a company catering to high quality design and building, and in my opinion it is very easy to see why---they do what they say they will, when they say they will. Highly recommended for any top shelf project!

**Comment from Crisp Architects:**

> We really appreciate your review John, it was a pleasure working with you both.

**★★★★★ — Christina Ferri, Jan. 2019**

> Crisp Architects did a wonderful job designing and managing our project. Jimmy and Arthur were instrumental in understanding our needs and applying that to the overall design of the house. The team at Crisp truly understood how to incorporate the modern amenities while keeping with the integrity and history of our house. They were a pleasure to work with very thorough and organized.

**★★★★★ — Kristine Johannes, Jan. 2019**

> The team at Crisp Architects did a great job with the attic/guest room conversion of our classic New England Saltbox. We are so pleased with the first leg of our project that we look forward to working with them on the rest of our house! Jimmy and his staff are helpful and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them.

**★★★★★ — Advantage Contracting, Dec. 2018**

> Crisp Architects have been fabulous to work with for our clients’ upcoming custom build project in Litchfield County. I have been impressed most by how thorough Jimmy Crisp and his staff of associates are during the design process with their clients. They take a very practical approach to understanding the client and their needs (Both creatively and financially) when designing each home. Crisp also has a wonderful architectural style that he applies to his projects. Great communication and honest discussions about the building process. I highly recommend Crisp Architects!

**★★★★★ — Karen & Peter C. Viola, Oct. 2018**

> Our experience with Jimmy and his team was beyond expectations. They are highly professional, approachable, responsive and easy to work with. The project was a complete interior renovation of our saltbox colonial home, and while we did not make any major changes to the layout, Crisp Architects was instrumental in finding the right balance and proportions for all the changes we did make, while staying true to our style. They also have a wonderful ability to match their clients with a contractor, in this case, Howard Senior of H & S Builders. We couldn't be happier with the finished product and hope to work with them again in the near future.

I found Jimmy and his staff had a high level of professionalism, responded immediately to questions and provided detailed drawings which helped bring the project together with ease. It was a pleasure working with Crisp Architects and the entire staff.

**★★★★★ — Robert Purdy, June 2018**

> Great firm! The plans were spot on. The overall design and layout met the clients desires and expectations. Crisp Architects were always available for consultation and did weekly site visits.

**★★★★★ — Susan and Craig Brenard, March 2018**

> Working with Jimmy Crisp Architects was a comforting place to be during a large renovation! We had no previous experience with a project of this size. Jimmy and his team were easy to communicate with, find common ground and architecturally beautiful solutions, and keep the project within our budget. They were also instrumental in finding the contractor, Howard Senior, owner of H&S Builders, who was all about the details and a dream to work with. We are beyond happy with our new home!

**★★★★★ — King Garden Designs, Inc., Sept. 2017**

> Our firm has had the opportunity to work with Crisp Architects on a gorgeous property in Greenwich, CT. The design and graphics are stunning, and the team of Crisp Architects have been exceptionally responsive and helpful when we have needed assistance in developing the landscape design.

**★★★★★ — Laura Bryson, July 2017**

> I found Crisp Architects' website many years ago, forging our dream of hiring Jimmy Crisp to design our hypothetical addition to our small house built in 1785. Ten years later, with a comparatively small budget than their norm, located across the river, in Orange County, New York, I wrote an email to ask if we were worthy. Almost immediately, I was treated to a personal phone call from Jimmy Crisp, and began to feel the kind, white glove treatment they naturally provide. From that first conversation, to where we are today at mid-construction of an incredible addition and renovation that Crisp Architects designed, I cannot say enough about the entire team and level of expertise. They are not only the sweetest people, but they are true experts in their trade, and particularly with historic architecture.
> Communication with Crisp Architects is immediate, reaction to your ideas is open minded and responded to with honest, valuable feedback, usually adding a new way of thinking to consider. My husband appreciates how Crisp successfully blended our old house architecture with the addition so beautifully, and how the team remains engaged with you and the project until its completion. We could not be more thrilled and we only hope to be able to hire them again for additional building on the property!
> Never once did I feel like we had the small project across the river, and they have kept us in our modest budget. We love Crisp Architects!

**★★★★★ — chpost, Feb. 2017**

> I have been doing carpentry work for Jimmy Crisp for about 20 years. They are always there to answer any questions that I might have. Blueprints are absolutely the best to work from, and their designs are outstanding. This goes for the entire staff

**★★★★★ — Home Enrichment Company, Inc., Dec. 2016**

> We have nearly finished our first project working with Crisp Architects! Jimmy and his staff have been professional, courteous, and extremely responsive to our needs. Through our experience together, we would highly recommend Crisp Architects to design your new home and or renovation. The home is absolutely stunning!

**★★★★★ — Rebecca C Brandon, ASID, Dec. 2016**

> I worked for over a year as the Interior designer on a large new home in Litchfield Co. Connecticut with Crisp architects. I found Jimmy welcomed all input throughout the process, both from the contractor, client as well as from me. The detailed drawings and specifications contributed greatly to one of my favorite completed projects. All in all Crisp architects was a pleasure to work with.

**★★★★★ — Julie Barrett, Aug. 2016**

> My wife and I cannot recommend Crisp Architects more highly. We purchased a house built in 1780, and were looking for an architect that had experience renovating homes of similar vintage. More than other architects we interviewed, Crisp quickly "got it" when we described ideas and concepts, making us comfortable that our vision would be executed properly. They flawlessly incorporated the contemporary design elements we desired while still honoring and preserving the legacy of the original home. Most importantly, Jimmy and his team were professional and a pleasure to work with. In any project, things come up; its how those challenges are dealt with that separates people, and in that regard, Crisp gets our highest praise.

**★★★★★ — Infratech Comfort Heaters, Aug. 2016**

> Crisp Architects is truly an expert in designing and renovating residential homes into beautiful traditional designs, while keeping energy conscious solutions in mind. They have done exquisite work incorporating our heaters into their impeccable outdoor living spaces. We particularly love our W-Series custom heaters in their 3 Season Room, with a versatile open-to-screened porch to accommodate seasonal transitions. Their understanding of renovating rooms into bright and airy spaces while balancing comfort and style makes their designs timeless.

**★★★★★ — JEM Woodworking & Cabinets, June 2016**

> JEM Woodworking has worked on many projects with Jimmy Crisp and his team over the course of several years. This firm continually proves to be an incredibly talented and professional group to work with. The drawings and designs that are created and furnished from this firm are everything that a cabinetry shop would want from an architect. When we have the opportunity to work with Crisp Architects we know that the cabinetry that we produce was thoughtfully considered as part of the whole project with a mindfulness to the aesthetic and functionality of each piece and for each individual client. We look forward to collaborating with Crisp Architects in the future and highly recommend them!

**★★★★★ — manleywoodworking, June 2016**

> I have worked with Jimmy Crisp Architects for many years and I have the utmost appreciation and admiration for his work. The overall designs and attention to detail makes my job as a high end woodworker exciting and rewarding. I always look forward to working with Jimmy and his excellent team.

**★★★★★ — luftkopf, May 2016**

> The old part of our house was built in 1770, the "modern" wing about 1860. When we decided to renovate, we wanted an architect that understood old New England houses and was used to working with them. With Crisp Architects we found the perfect answer.
> The work started with a mapping and measuring of the entire house, including the footprint and every room, down to very tight and accurate tolerances. This was very well done, as far as we know for the first time in the 240 year history of the house, and led to perfect blueprints that were a basis for Crisp's design and the subsequent outstanding work of the builder Arthur Deacon and Son. Without Crip's mapping and measuring we doubt that the results would have been as perfect as they now are.
> Jim Crisp and we communicated very well. He understood what we wanted and could relate that to the physical attributes and esthetics of our house and the surrounding historical community. Everything outside had to be approved by the Historical Commission, and Crisp was very helpful in gaining the approvals we needed, no doubt because he understood the thinking of persons like us who seek to keep the traditional exterior together with a modern, intelligent, user-friendly interior.
> We liked the design, and it has worked out beautifully. Throughout the project Jim Crisp and his colleague Darren Conrad were always available, always engaged, and we could not have been more pleased. The entire job turned out perfectly.

**★★★★★ — La Pietra Tile & Stone, Feb. 2016**

> We have worked on several jobs that have retained Crisp Architects. From my personal experience the level of detail on his plans can make any contractor's life a whole lot easier. I have also experience a variety of different looks and styles coming from Crisp.

**★★★★★ — Morrissey Saypol Interiors, LLC, Jan. 2016**

> It was a pleasure working with Crisp Architects for the partial renovation and addition of our clients' home. Jimmy and Sandee truly understand and appreciate old houses, and understand the details and proportions required to seamlessly renovate such spaces.
> As interior designers, we had strong opinions and ideas for the design of the interior of the house, and we were happy to find that they were extremely collaborative and flexible. They allowed us to voice our opinions without having any “ego” about it. Additionally, their new ideas provided for an end result that was beyond anything that the client could have originally hoped for.
> It was an absolute pleasure working with them, and the clients are so appreciative for all that they did for their home.

**★★★★★ — Structure Works Construction Inc., Jan. 2016**

> Our company has had the wonderful opportunity to build numerous projects in the Hudson Valley with Crisp Architects, including the Stream Side House, Carriage House, Country Home, Pool House Escape, Basement Pub, and Entertainment Barn.
>
> There is a unique character and ambiance to a Crisp-designed home that makes them a pleasure to see, to visit, and to live in. His firm has brilliantly mastered the crucial alchemy of the design process in which the final product has all the charm, warmth, and beautiful features of a “Crisp Creation”, while simultaneously accommodating the ideas, desires, and lifestyle of the owners.
>
> In addition, Jimmy frequently comes by the construction sites, monitoring the work for quality and specs, and chatting with the tradesmen for insights and feedback. His personal involvement throughout the building process contributes greatly to the successful outcome of his designs.

**★★★★★ — Redtwig, llc, Oct. 2015**

> Our landscape design/build firm collaborated with Crisp Architects on a 3-year new construction project in Union Vale, NY. The 88-acre site presented many challenges, including siting the house on a steep hillside and integrating the structure with a pool and pool house and terraced gardens.
>
> From our very first meeting, I realized that Jimmy Crisp and his team are committed to their clients and are brilliant collaborators and problem-solvers. Through the course of the 3-year project, Crisp Architects always worked as a team with myself, the client's contractor and the site engineer to ensure that the client's vision was fully realized.
>
> I have found Jimmy to be one of the rare architects who leaves his ego at the door of his own architecture. His work is stunning and I look forward to collaborating with him in the future.

**★★★★★ — SP C, Oct. 2015**

> Crisp Architects were a distinct pleasure to work with. They helped us select the perfect general contractor and consistently provided constant oversight throughout the entire project. Crisp Architects designed an addition to our house that perfectly complimented the design and style of our home.

**★★★★★ — SBE Builders, Inc., Sept. 2015**

> We are currently working on a Project with Crisp Architects out of Millbrook, New York. The Project is in Rye, NY and involves Interior Renovations on a house whose age varies from 200 years old to 5 years old. The Terrace part of the project involves an elaborate multi tiered Design with Concrete Retaining walls, Masonry, Lighting and many fixtures/appliances needing utilities.
> These Projects can be very difficult because of unknown existing conditions, which brings me to the rating that our firm gives to Crisp Architects. We encountered over and over again existing conditions that were surprising and a bit challenging. Crisp Architects were incredibly responsive and came up with resolutions that were practical and immediate. All throughout the job the ability of Crisp Architects to respond to issues was incredibly quick. Also, the manner in which Jimmy Crisp deals with issues has been handed down to his Project Managers. They handle things calmly and cooperatively. His firms works with both us and our Subcontractors to solve problems not blow them up.
> Of course it is always a pleasure building structures that are beautiful and Crisp Architects design beautiful structures with terrific detail. Although our opinion is not that important, it is great to build beautifully designed Millwork and Finishes. Our firm is hoping to complete this job in a most satisfactory way not only for the Client but even more so for Crisp Architects as we would love to do more work with them because it makes for an efficient, quick and beautiful product. We really can't say enough about working with Crisp Architects and being involved with his Designs.

> I have been working with Jimmy Crisp and his firm for over 10 years. He has transformed our 240 year old home and property and we continue to work with him on multiple projects. His sense of style, creativity and attention to detail is unparalleled. We renovated and expanded our main house, built a large barn and guest house, a wine cellar, pool area and our current projects include a pergola, stone house addition with a game room, pool house and gym. I trust Jimmy implicitly and depend on him as I live in a different state than my weekend home. He is a wonderful collaborator, always respectful and truly takes the time to get to know you, your lifestyle and your tast. Our home has been featured in "O Oprah" magazine and is also home to many events. I hope we can keep working with them for the next 20 years!

> We hired Crisp to do a sunroom renovation on our home. The book of their past work is beautiful, their communication and attention to detail A+ and James Crisp always made himself available to us. Sadly in the midst of the final drawings being issued we decided to put our home on the market as we will be moving out of state. The drawings will be sold with the home in hopes the new owners will follow through with the project and we would not hesitate in the future to call on them again.

**★★★★★ — Ann O'Leary, March 2015**

> We selected Crisp Architects to assist in renovating and expanding our 1850s New England-style farmhouse. Jimmy and Jonathan listened closely to what we wanted and then developed an innovative design for livability and space that retained the authenticity and character of the original structure. We made the right choice!

**★★★★★ — Ashish Shah, Feb. 2015**

> My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Jimmy Crisp and Jonathan Rothstein on an extensive addition and renovation of our house. The results speak for themselves: "I can't believe we live here" - our 12 year old son. We've been thrilled with the design work that Crisp Architects put together. They really listened to what our needs were and translated those needs into a "dream home." We would highly recommend Jimmy and team to those looking to renovate their home.

> We highly recommend Jimmy Crisp and Sandee Mahoney. They helped us to build our dream home by focussing on the big picture as well as small details. They were able to keep our project on budget and on time. As talented architects they were able to listen carefully to our ideas and design the home we wanted and then some. We built our home ten years ago and since then Jimmy and Sandee have always been available to us whenever we had any questions or issues. We have always been happy that we decided to use Crisp architects and would use them again if needed.

> I've been fortunate to have been working with Jimmy Crisp and his staff for many years now. As a stair builder I am on many projects but rarely see the attention to detail that is shown on their projects. The staff is always available for any questions and open to your ideas. Their projects seem to bring out the best in all trades.

**★★★★★ — H&S Builders, Inc., Aug. 2014**

> As a builder I've worked with all kinds of clients and architects and have found Crisp Architects to be among the best I've dealt with. Building plans sometimes raise more questions and are open to interpretation which in turn slows down the path to completion. The plans that come out of their office are concise and explicit, right down the hinges on the cabinetry. This means no surprises for either the builder or client which is a win-win. As a professional in the field I highly recommend them.

**Comment from Crisp Architects:**

> Lou, you are our go-to stair builder and we are aways happy with the outcome.

Jimmy's plan provided us with an improved indoor and outdoor living space that better accommodates the way in which we live, and in addition, allows us to maximize the use of our home. Jimmy and his team could not have been nicer and more professional as we progressed from the early stages of this project through the construction phase. > Crisp Architects helped us with renovations on a 1790 farmhouse plus building a 3 story addition on to it. Jimmy Crisp was professional, honest,, available and responsive to our needs. This is in addition to providing a high quality design and plan for our project. The addition blends naturally with our original house. We are grateful for Jimmy's expertise in helping us evolve a beautiful home.

> Jimmy Crisp Architects did two projects for us; kitchen expansion and renovation with second bathroom and closet addition above the expanded kitchen; family room addition two years later. Both are glorious. The project came in within budget and on time. Jimmy worked extremely well with us to select a contractor and then worked easily with the contractor. The whole team was easy to work with and presented their ideas and recommendations for our consideration without pressure to do it their way. The new design fits in seamlessly with the original 1800's residence. We recommend Jimmy Crisp without reservation.

> I have work as a project manager for RC Torre Construction on several of their projects. They create detailed drawings and share great ideas for solving the clients needs. All the while demanding the best materials and construction. They make it possible to build changes in the field efficiently while keeping the project on tract. A pleasure to work with.

> In 1993 we decided to put a dining room addition on our 200 year old house. We selected James Crisp to provide the plans. The outcome was spectacular. The design of the roof and windows blended perfectly with the existing structure. Our addition was Jimmy Crisp's first project in Dutchess County, N.Y. Last year when I wanted to build a small storage barn I went directly to Crisp Architects. This time I wanted to keep an existing large tree at one corner of the building. Jimmy Crisp provided plans with a corner inset that saved my tree. He has always been very willing to accommodate my suggestions. The overall appearance of both of these projects has received many favorable comments from my friends and neighbors. I highly recommend Crisp Architects to design and oversee your next project.

> 1\. Leslie is a genius at interpreting what I am looking for. I never feel she is imposing her own particular style on me. She managed to pull out my own personal style and project it into my dream design. She also has a knack for finding new and original products, that I have never come across before.

> We hired Crisp Architects to design and oversee the renovation or our 100 year old barn and carriage house home. Their design was respectful of the historic nature of the house while bringing it up to date with all the necessary modern conveniences. I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with Crisp Architects from the level of service of every employee to the beautiful end product. In fact, since our renovation, we have been asked several times to include our home in the Historic Homes Tour in our area.

> Jimmy & team did a great job designing our modern farmhouse. They took our tearsheets and moodboards and translated everything into a classic house that fit perfectly into the footprint of our old house. They also helped us incorporate non-standard elements--a classic balustrade, a tin ceiling, a coffered ceiling--into the house in a timeless way. Finally, Jimmy helped design a house with public rooms that offer cozy gathering spaces in the winter and light & spacious connections to the outdoors in the summer.

> We bought a house on a beautiful piece of property. However, the house was too small. We contacted James Crisp of Crisp Architects to discuss enlarging the house. He designed two additions, a Great Room and a Master Suite. He was not only very professional, but open to our wants and needs. We are so happy with our house and proud to call it home.

> In 2006 our cottage was flooded and damaged beyond what I believed was repair. Crisp Architects designed a remodeled dwelling on the same foundation incorporating many positive updates including a beautiful porch overlooking a pond that sits on the property. The project was completed on time under budget for $150,000. Subsequently, Crisp architects was engaged to create a storage barn/heated workshop. One of the things that I particularly appreciated about this project was the radiant heat placed in the floor resulting in the ability to heat and use the shop year round with a propane gas heater. Crisp Architects has an unbelievable ability to create structures that are both beautiful and functional while fitting in seamlessly with the surrounding property. This project was also completed on time and under budget, a rare feat the days. I have since recommended Crisp architects to others, including my neighbor, all with positive results.

> We couldn't be happier with the work done by Crisp Architects. Our house had a nondescript entryway that we wanted to improve. We asked Crisp Architects for a covered entryway that would signal "This is our front door." The design we received included a new foyer and front porch, with a room above (now our office, where I'm typing this) and a storage room in the basement. The new part of the house works perfectly with the old - a great improvement in how it looks from the outside as well as how it serves us on the inside.

> Crisp designed and supervised construction of a two story addition. It helped us find a reliable contractor and other professionals like the engineer. Weekly on site visits to ensure work was up to spec. Helped with zoning, board of health and environmental conservation.
>
> Architect worked closely with us to understand our goals. Made suggestions but didn't push an agenda. Final result was above expectations. The addition is well integrated with original house and receives glowing compliments from neighbors and visitors.

> Jimmy did all of the design work for the renovation of a 1790's New England farmhouse. He added a mudroom, laundry room, second living room, an enclosed porch (one of his specialties) and moved the stairs, which was a particularly puzzling piece of the renovation (at least for my wife and me). The results were sympathetic to the original design, but clean and modern at the same time. Jimmy is an extremely talented architect. He is a Southern gentleman and very easy to work with. The process went very smoothly thanks to Jimmy and an equally talented builder - Mike Shiels. The realtors who sold us the property were also impressed. Everything went according to plan with no unpleasant surprises and the project costed out as anticipated within a reasonable margin. My wife and I love the results and would recommend Crisp Architects enthusiastically and unreservedly.

> Jimmy Crisp designed our 5-bedroom home in Dutchess County, New York, from the ground up over eight years ago. We couldn't be more pleased. In fact, we are now in the process of building a stone barn addition to the main house with him. Jimmy is a true expert in the traditional New England vernacular paying special attention to details that make a newly-buildt home feel like it's been there for over a century (minus the century-old plumbing!). I might add, that Jimmy and his team are extremely wonderful to work with. They listen closely and always respect the clients needs foremost.

> Crisp Architects designed a beautiful guest house for us a few years ago. We have now started the process with them to design the main house and complete our home.

> Jimmy Crisp was our immediate choice to renovate our recently purchased house in Millbrook. A 1920 center hall colonial with great "bones," the house needed a full overhaul in parts and careful, thoughtful re-detailing in others. Jimmy and his staff designed a beautiful new kitchen that embraces views of the surrounding countryside, and works for both day to day and entertaining purposes wonderfully. You should have heard the catering crew when they arrived for our Boxing Day party! With a brilliant stroke, Crisp Architects and contractor Lin Chamberlin opened up a two story front hall, so that it is now flooded with light and welcoming to our visitors. Our favorite go-to room in the winter, the small library off the front hall, was made warm and elegant with new panelling and bookcases, all laid out carefully by our favorite designers. As you drive up the driveway, you see the signature Crisp porch which now graces the front of the house and welcomes our guests. A perfect summer evening spot!
> Each step of this process was easy, we were given options and guided through decision making by a talented group of professionals, and any problems in delivery or installation were addressed quickly and with a minimum of fuss. This is a place we love to be, and our affection for our new home is enhanced by the memories of how we created it.

> I worked with Jimmy Crisp for 24 months during 2004-2005 after he designed my home in Western Mass. This was the 5th home I had an architect design to build or remodel and Crisp Architects was by far the best group in this capacity that I employed. Both interior and exterior design and follow through was outstanding and exceeded my expectations. The work entailed a 7,000 sq ft home , a separate large carriage house with a separate 2nd floor guest apartment plus a separate freestanding pool house. I would and will continue to recommend Jimmy Crisp. If I was to build another home in the CT, MASS or NY State area I would definitely hire Jimmy Crisp.

> Jimmy and his staff were at all times helpful and responsive, and Lin and his crew were the same. The house was built on time, in spite of difficult conditions, (unseasonable ice, and cold) and is solid - warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and easy to live in.

> We hired Crisp Architects to renovate our farmhouse kitchen and to add a loggia. They were swift in their planning phase and their expertise was critical to meet the challenges of an old structure and to ensure that the integrity of the 1750's house was not compromised. The entire team is patient and professional and we would highly recommend them for any small or large project.

> Working with Jimmy Crisp and his associates was a great and valuable learning experience that could not have turned out better than it did. Jimmy truly met, and in many instances, went beyond our expectations. The project, which was a complete gut renovation, went very smoothly and it did come in on budget with the exception of new items that were included after our original quote. Of course there were differences of opinions and long discussions about changes/desired outcomes and new costs, however, I would say that because of Jimmy's constant presence at the site, complete knowledge of exactly what was suppose to happen at all stages of the project and calm manner we escaped situations that could, at the time, have been less satisfactory. Jimmy, the associates and clerical employees of his firm are all a 10 in my book! My experience with Crisp Architects makes me believe that anyone seeking a great architect, backed by a most professional staff, could not do better than to choose Crisp Architects.

The house was well-built and full of character. While it had a charming front porch, it was far from the kitchen and faced the driveway. In this case the owners wanted an open room which would be a place to play pool, entertain, and gather with family and friends. - Description: Our clients wanted to respect the architecture of their original home while taking on a major renovation and addition. The additions we designed are Greek revival, which is a vernacular style of the region and was consistent with the age of the original home. Triple hung windows bring wonderful amounts of light into the living room, while the open plan of the kitchen helps the renovated home flow well.
